Done! and it is fixed Wifi and bluetooth operative again .
The reason was a bad connection at the LVDS connector so I did not have to remove the plastic covering the airport card : just re-fix firmly the LVCD connector as shown in Ifixit
    Many Many Many thanks

    Abraham...
THANK YOU. You are the first person to reveal a truthful, thoughtful, intelligent answer to this problem. What has been so disconcerting about this issue for me is that the wifi card intermittently works. Now I finally know that it was the jostling of the hardware connection and not the resetting of PRAM etc. that made it temporarily work. Your video brought me tremendous joy and peace - I no longer feel crazy and now have a practical solution to follow thanks to you.

I have the missing wifi issue. Thanks for the video - gave me the confidence to repair this myself. It turns out that on my MacBook, the cable connector was not the problem. I unplugged, replugged, no difference. I have bought a replacement wifi-card off ebay and will follow up here with results. As a note, bluetooth DOES NOT run off the wifi-card on this model. With the wifi-card fully disconnected, I can still use bluetooth.

Wow that is exactly what has happened to my mac. The left corner of the plastic has broken off (a while ago). I have no idea why it broke so i think this model has a flaw (as you said). I will try having a look inside to see if the cable isn't seated properly. Wifi works intermittently.

    Nice video Abraham!
i have the same problem, i mean WIFI fail with my Macbook pro 15 2012 mid. but in my case i think the reason maybe is connection of the cable which connect the Airport card and logic board. I checked my Airport card, it's working.
Do you have any suggestion? Thanks!

I did ALL the possible things you can imagine and i could do but none of them solved my problem. Other notebooks on my house works perfectly but my mac dont. I reseted my router, entered again, but nothing :( Can you tell me something? thank you.

    Hi,
On the 2011 model, which is exhibiting the same airport failure, the card differs; it has 4 connections, and the cable is a press on top . And it's wrapped in tape.
Still fails. Oddly, the card came back online once after I took apart and reassembled, then stopped again. Work progresses..

Thank you for what you showed on your MacBook. I have a one with the dual core Intel-first.Little problems with Wi-fi card. Where it fades in and out at times? New card? Motherboard?, Memory? Also, fan is noisy. I replace that and card, right? WANT TO Do SERVICE- they rip you off. Just like you sayt. Machine has aluminum case and silver keys, not black. Any ideas? Always been noisy. Had it on for an hour and it is been fine. Airport is green on Network. Thanks, Tom.

Before you do anything drastic, try taking the battery out. I had this same exact problem today and could not get airport card to turn on. I tried restarting several times to no avail. Then I removed the battery, replaced it and restarted and everything was fine.

My mac cannot locate the wi-fi function at all. It says "wi-fi: no hardware found" and it can't be found in system preferences/network. I've tried upgrading the software. I've also tried deleting all software and reinstalling from scratch.
I suspect it to be the hardware. Would this be a possibility to solve it, or is it likely to maybe be a part of the logic board or something else?

I have the same problem, bought a macbook pro mid 2012 and last week it started doing the same thing. First it was like this video, then it was like you describe. Sometimes i restart the computer and it gets better but only for a while, sometimes i have to restart it three times...Like he explains on the video, I've been told it is an hardware problem, because the wifi antena is located on the screen lid and the opening an closing procedure tears off the antena cables... the solution is, again as he explains on the video, to replace the airport board, or whatever it's called, but I haven't tried it yet, all i've done was opening the bottom lid, clean and disconnect the antena cables and connect them again, but it's just temporary after one day or two it comes back again... i don't know how to help, but if someone has a permanent and cheap solution i would like to know

The problem w/ my mid 2009 MBP is that after going to sleep mode, it shows the AirPort as turned off. When I go to turn AirPort on, it doesn't turn on. After rebooting, it gets worse. It then says "No AirPort card installed." I've taken it to the Apple store & it is 'temporarily fixed' when the AirPort card is disconnected, then reconnected. They want me to either buy a new card or MONITOR!! 100s of people are hav'g the same exact problem w/ no known fix and PRAM reset doesnt work. Any Ideas?

Sir, I have macbook Pro (version 10.6.8)
Few months ago It fail approximately 15 cm down and it 1st time started to show ' airportcard not detected'.
After few months I restarted it and fortunately it got online with wifi icon being black.
But it suddenly went offline with wifi icon greying out.
And thereby it hardly gets online (with black wifi icon) and stays online nearly for two minutes and goes offline (with wifi icon greying out).
    I don't understand what's the problem.
Please help so that it will work normal.
    Kindly looking for your reply..

took my mid 2012 mac book to apple inside warenty cos i had removed dvd drive and replced with ssd drive they wont support me, but i think the real cause of this is freying of the antenna wires located in the hinge with opening and closing so often i think it has cut some of the wires, apple said it will have tp remove screen to fix and would cost 460 pounds, mine has same issue will only work right on top of a router and up close for bluetooth. not happy with apple

Unfortunately, nothing happened: wi fi didn't show of.. So Since I hade to replace the screen cover, I decided to switch the cable: it repaired the camera and the bluethoot... But no wi fi working again:
It just doesn't show off in the network menu, doesn't show off in the menu bar (no wi fi logo apparelling, disconnected or not). It just completely vanished. I really don t know how to fix that. Unless it is the attenna, I will have completely switch the whole system. Thing is: bluethoot is working, so why the wi fi is not? can somebody help me on that one? I'm out of solution!
