This is a very informative video and would be a great way for someone who is interested in the purchase of one
Glad you think so!
Love the extras that you did with solar, tires, swing away extra storage, etc.
The time and effort you have put into the review of this Thor Sequence is comprehensive and truly appreciated.
Thank you so much!!! Haha that means a TON
@@wildwolfvanlife9570 Have you created the video on what you love and what you don't love so much about the van? I am considering buying this exact van and I am continuing my detailed research.
@@iketerjimanian7693 Not yet! We are going camping next week and have a couple of videos planned out to film then! Stay tuned!
I really appreciate your honesty about the cons so we can make an informed decision on which RV to buy. I love the rear bathroom. It makes the van feel so open.
We are totally doing the spare tire and solar upgrade! Such a helpful video!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you! Love the basket/spare tire!
Just picked up a Thor Sequence today thanks for all this info I am excited to get on the road!!!!!
So awesome Mike, congrats! We're getting ready for our own 3 month trip this summer in ours, can't wait!
Thanks for your detailed and very helpful review! I love the Thor Sequence, both the 20L &20K. Hoping to get mine in the next year or so. Iâm very curious as to how you keep your black & grey tanks clean as well as the sewer hose. You mentioned it in your video, but i didnât see a video on it. Please please let us know how yaâll do it!!
I'm also interested in the tires, would love to get an update of your overall experience of the van and the upgrades you did
Excellent review. Thanks.
We looking at buying one of these today. Your review gives us hope. Iâve read so many negative things about Thor⊠and a few good reports too.
Absolutely wonderful presentation! Thank you.
Excellent presentation. We bought the same rig 2 months ago. Great idea about adding a second solar panel !!! We Will !
Great video. Thanks.
Biggest shower in a van! Honest review, I like it.
Thanks for this comprehensive list. đđ
So many great tips đ
Thank you!
Great video! Thanks. Looking forward to your other videos. I hope to checkout the 20K model this week.
The 20k is a great floorplan! There's a TON of storage in that model. The one thing we weren't fans of was the bed conversion. Once we make our bed into that large bed, it pretty much stays that way the whole trip. In the 20k floorplan, that would mean the bed is like...in the way đ
Thanks for all the links to the products.
You're welcome!
I have the same van in the K model. You guys did a great job! Going to try some wall paper and a 2nd solar panel per your suggestions.
Did you get the 2nd solar panel? We're thinking about putting an extra solar panel on ours but the rep at the RV dealership discouraged us from doing that. He said it wouldn't make much of a difference. Is that true? Did you notice a big enough difference between one or two panels for it to be worth it?
Thanks for the awesome walkthrough! I think we are going to buy your vans baby brother this week! We are looking at the Thor Scope 18m. Same awesome wet bath, just 3 feet less living space. Do you find the longer van hard to maneuver in city traffic/parking situations? Thx!
Awesome detailed video! Well done! I too would like to do the solar upgrade on my 2022 Sequence 20L and was curious how exactly you mounted the panel and made the connections to the van!

@@AB-ih6ig So what i did was order 2 additional 110 Flexible panels (adhered to top of the roof with 3M double tape) and made a series â Parallel connection. Meaning the 2 new panels were wired in series and then connected in parallel to the existing panel. I can definitely tell a difference as my house battery stays charged longer. I mounted the panels on either side of the A/C , so make sure you check the width on yours. If you have a tight fit you can opt for the Flexible 55 panel that is not as wide as the 110. I ordered mine from Go Power
This was the best review of a RV! Does this have a smooth ride quality and is the driver seats pretty comfortable?
Nice! We have the 2021 version and love it! I'd love to have you be on our Travel Chick Chat on Mondays at 9pm EST. to talk about your travels
Hey there, that sounds like fun, I'd love some more deets!
Love this floorplan what a good vid. If you had to do it all over again, would you consider bigger rig? I live in south Fl. Keep up the good work. TY
Very informative and always nice to see folks who aren't associated with the manufacturers give reviews. I've read that you can get a 3" lift for a Promaster and would be interested in your thoughts after your generator scrape.
Thank you! Us too...when we were making the decision to purchase ours back in early 2020, we couldn't find ANY videos on CZcams that weren't from the manufacturer or a dealership, so frustrating! There is nothing MORE I would love than to lift our promaster. I think it's a fantastic idea, and really the only "con" is the price and investment of doing that...which is where we land right now. The other "con" is that this vehicle is only 2WD, so a lot of the places you may want to get to with that lifted promaster, you may not be able to do anyway unless you had 4WD.
@@wildwolfvanlife9570 Hmmm, so not lifting may save me from my own stupidity? Or at least make stupid things happen a little closer to the road for the tow trucks to find me! While I've got you, did you find those small window openings to be adequate ventilation, and are they hard to open? Some of the dealer videos make it look like arthritic hands may struggle. Thanks, and please keep posting!
@@WanderingVango haha, EXACTLY. I think the tires give us enough flexibility to allow us to get to some cool spots, but not being lifted prevents us from our own overzealous-ness. The small windows are NOT enough ventilation, we're actually looking into replacing the middle driver's side window with a new window that opens. I do notice on the newer models, however, they have moved one of those opening windows to be above the bed now so there's some ventilation towards the back. The 2020 model (what we have), they are both towards the front. They can be very sticky, and when we first got the van, we had to actually get the dealership to fix one of our because we couldn't open it.
@@WanderingVango I have a 2021 tellaro and yes the windows are a bit of a struggle to open. The window above the kitchen area is on my list of things to double check before I leave an area because I have been driving down the road and found I had not closed it all the way.
Hello, great video. Could you please tell me if it is possible to use your bike rack when your cargo container is attached, or does the cargo container block the bike rack? Thank you for your help on this!
Love your video! Can you put your bikes on your bike rack with the stowaway storage bin?
Just bought a Thor Scope 18m! Thanks for the awesome accessories list! Weâre you able to power the fridge with just one solar panel, or is that why you went to two? Thx!
Thanks you two. Just got a barely used 2022 Sequence (whatâs up with the name). Ours came with the lithium batteries but Iâd much rather have the generator. Our first time RVâing next week up to Maine. Iâm really worried about the batteries lasting. Iâll subscribe and see what else youâve discovered about the Sequence and your travels.
Love the mods! Curious how you wired the 2 solar panels?
nicely done video and review! We have Tellaro 20AT with skybunk and lithium!
Nice! How do you like the lithium system?! Are you ever running your generator to charge batteries, or only when you need A/C or microwave?
@@wildwolfvanlife9570 It no longer has a generator due to the lithium batteries. We can run any appliance (TV, microwave, fridge, blow dryer, AC) as much as we want. I haven't tested fully but Thor said it can run AC for 10hrs straight. With the solar panels, the onboard alternator can also recharge batteries in between trips or if needed auto start feature can charge the batteries using the Ram's engine.
@@R2X2Z AH, didn't know that! I think both models definitely have their ideal customer and location. For us being in Florida, and where we've traveled, and having a pet in our vehicle 24/7, there have been PLENTY of times where we've been dry camping and have run our generator longer than 10 hours at a time to keep that A/C going.(badlands in the summer with 90 degree weather in a black van).
We have a 2021 âLâ as well! I think while we were waiting to take delivery, I mustâve watched your extended journey video a dozen times. Definitely agree with the loves, as well as some of the criticisms. Shopping the competition however, The Thor seemed like a tremendous value. We have a â3 year planâ, in which weâll decide if we keep the Sequence, and continue to make it âour ownâ, trade for another âoff the rackâ rig, or take the leap and build our âdream vanâ. Weâve done a few of the same mods, as well as some other documented on the âThor Sequence and Tellaro owners and wannabeâsâ Facebook page. Definitely worth a look (if you havenât already). I bet you could drive some traffic to your YT page, as your videos are really enjoyable.
Hey Mike! Thanks for the info on that facebook page, I'll definitely hop on! The value is exactly why we opted for the Thor. So far, it's been worth the value, and we keep finding little things about the design that we actually prefer over other vans, for example, the sink cover is simply a cut-out of the countertop, so when in place, it's flush with the counter top, as opposed to a plastic sink cover that isn't flush and could break like I've seen on Travato's and other brands.
Is the "3-year plan" an arrangement you made with the dealer?
No, the WIFE, @@joseville
@@joseville haha Jose, I think what Mike means is that they plan on holding on to the RV for at least 3 years, and then deciding if they want to keep it longer or sell
Well what's your thoughts on the van now? I'm about to do some upgrades vs trading it in.
Thank you for making such an informative video! We're thinking about putting an extra solar panel on ours but the rep at the RV dealership discouraged us from doing that. He said it wouldn't make much of a difference. Is that true? Did you notice a big enough difference between one or two panels for it to be worth it?
Wonderful video!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I've been wanting to get a Sequence with the lithium battery package. I am going to buy one in a couple months. I am going to get several of the things you have. Thank you for the links to them. I will use them!! Please let us know where you bought this van for that amazing price!!! I have not seen one for less than $92,000 and that's without the lithium package! Great info. Thanks!
Thanks for watching, Connie!
@@wildwolfvanlife9570 How about not finding one at all for the next 6 months at least. I found my used one for 89k form a guy who used it for 7k miles. Otherwise they are tough to find, you must move on it the minute you find one for sale that day
question ..........you added a second solar panel in PARALLEL . Did you have to change any settings in the Charge Controller ??? How many and what kind of batteries do you have ??? Thank you
Hi, great video. Did you originally get the Winegard 2.0 Wifi/anntennae system? If so, did you remove it to put the roof rack basket in place?
Great question, and we totally skipped that! YES, It did come with the winegard and we did remove that from the roof. The connections for it are still up there, and we simply patched the holes where it was mounted with self-leveling RV roof caulk. We have a verizon hotspot inside the van that works perfectly fine for us, and whenever we don't have cell signal or internet service, we just enjoy the disconnect lol.
@@wildwolfvanlife9570 Thanks...that makes lost of sense. Next question if I may. How did you black out the wheels. They look like the Ram OEMs but possibly plastic-dipped. Really like them and have been considering but haven't heard a lot of great things about Plastic-dip standing up to the wear and tear.
@@jnbport yep, we just used plasti dip! They looked amazing for a long time, until we got the KO2s put on, which will definitely scratch the plasti dip up.
Thanks for your very informative video. Can you share where you purchased it as I live in Fl
Sure! We purchased it at General RV off I-4 near Lakeland
when adding second solar panel after moving the roof racks forward of the AC, did you also have to move the Wingard antenna or any other features to make room for the panel...
We totally forgot to mention this, but yes, we removed the winegard from the front of the roof. We found that we never used it and have a verizon jet pack inside the van instead.
That was the wrong jacket to wear. Great video btw
Beautiful van! I'll just go throw rocks at my 1995 RoadTrek now, lol. (I'm just kidding.. sort ofđ). đ„°đđšđŠ
I may never live the van life, but am still trying to decide. I am definitely going to buy the complete van or have someone else build it and pay for their expertise. How perturbed are you by the quality of your Thor and things coming apart?
Sadly, Thor "quality" (meaning the coach fit & finish, materials used, durability, etc. -- the ProMaster chassis is common to many brands, so I'm only talking about how Thor builds the COACH) seems to be a real and (sadly) continuing problem with them. I REALLY like the Rize/Scope 18M (want a SHORTER Class B), but due to these quality issues am VERY hesitant re: buying one. Will more likely go with a less-featured (but WAY better built/higher resale-value) Pleasure-Way Tofino instead (and carry a porta-potti, portable AC, and maybe even a portable generator).
Thor has some great camper-van floor-plans/features, but they need to address executing them much better by improving factory "craftsmanship" issues.
I don't know how Thor is taking care of customers/warranty issues AFTER the sale, but I HOPE that is not another negative issue as well.
-- BR
Is that exterior color charcoal or black? How did you get it in that color option?
Hello great video, I have the same plan, do you know how to turn on the long light between the kitchen and the driving area?
That is going to be your "front accent" light on your BM control panel. It's towards the bottom of the light options, and does not have a dimming option
@@wildwolfvanlife9570 thank you
Heya! New sub âïž
So no spare tire, any spare tire removal tools, How much to move the top storage since I don't understand how they put that over the solar unit. No lithium batteries which is odd to have a solar energy system to charge basic batteries. No mention of how that cabinet in the shower stays dry when taking a shower, maybe the curtain literally keeps out the water. Propane keeps the water hot, but does shore power also heat the water given you have only 20lbs of propane. How much was that swiveling container and how much to put it in or do you use your hitch to put that component on. Your indications that the other shows are in the right hand corner where not there which I am sure you know now, as you pointed up top but nothing was there. Thanks for the video it was helpful and I am trying to find out if I should buy a 2021 for 90k. Used
I wonder about the hot water also, but something tells me only propane heats the water system, and the cost of a stowaway2 max hitch cargo carrier with swing frame is $859 and Amazon is out of them, you have to get them at www.stowaway2.com/max-cargo-carrier-black. You can put 200lbs in that LQH, 40x24x21 and fits the coleman RV grill.
What is the ground clearance underneath with the low batteries & generator?
I would say it's about the same as a typical car. I drive a prius when we're home, and I have to handle speedbumps the same way in both vehicles.
Iâm curious about your thoughts on Thorâs new Lithium system for the Sequence. It costs about $26k and there is a 6mo wait time for build.
We haven't done too much research about this upgrade. I think it depends on where you are using the van. If you're gonna be doing lots of camping under trees and in the shade where your solar becomes useless, it WOULD be nice to be able to drain your batteries down further without damaging them. HOWEVER, if you can't operate the A/C with the lithium version, you'll still be running your generator or need to plug in, which in my opinion, isn't worth the upgrade. We take our van out to a lot of open camping where we aren't in the shade, and with the upgraded solar, we pretty much never need to run the generator to charge batteries. Plus the AGM batteries DO get charged from the alternator when you are driving the van. My final opinion, is that it's not worth the upgrade. I would instead upgrade the solar on the van itself (maybe a $300 investment and a little labor?) and save the money.
Really appreciate your prompt and thoughtful reply!
I think you can run your a/c with lithium. After choosing lithium option you don't get a generator, but you get an alternator to charge your batteries. I like the 20k model it has more storage inside and a bigger refrigerator.
Nice (!) links. I'm considering this vehicle or another B from Thor. Never owned an RV motorhome. HOW does one keep the black tank hose clean enough that stowing it inside isn't, shall I say "icky stinky" - lots and lots of clean water flush? Asking for a friend, LOL.
easy...........dump BLACK tank FIRST !!!! ...............THEN dump GRAY TANK !!! . Just make sure you have water in the GRAY tank to dump. you can also rinse out the sewer hose with your hose if you need to AFTER using the GRAY tank water.
What part of Tampa are you? We would love to connect and see your MODs before we leave in about 3 weeks.
As much as we would love to connect, we are SLAMMED with work right now.
@@wildwolfvanlife9570 Possibly out on the road sometime. Look for a silver Sequence. Keep the videos coming.
Hi, appreciate the video. Do you have any experience with the wineguard connect? I was thinking calling T-mobile for a SIM card to place in the wineguard, what do you think? Thanks again.
Thanks for watching!
We should have mentioned that in this video, but the Wineguard was something we took off the roof in order to mount the roof basket in the front. We had tried connecting this thing and was faced with more frustration than we thought it was worth. We instead have a verizon jetpack that is just mounted inside the van, and if we don't have cell signal, we just enjoy the time away unplugged.
@@wildwolfvanlife9570 thank you. This makes sense. I took your Amazon list and will purchase the majority of the items. I got the coach on 5/22/21 and looking forward to take it out camping as soon as I find an exit to the rat race. Thanks for the reply. Also one more question. How did you solve the sewer hose compartment issue? I want to get some rhino hose but donât think it fits. Thanks again.
@@hxnguy714 haha we gave up on the sewer hose compartment and our sewer house is in that back storage area under the cabinet
@@hxnguy714 agreed .........the hose that came with the Van is junk. We got the Rhino and store it in the back also.
I have a 2022 and I wished I had built my own...
Elaborate please. I just watched another person's vid of pros and cons and, the 2021, 2022 fit and finish show very poorly. I had almost made my mind up to buy a Thor B but, nor so sure now.
Have you had to use the spare tire?
knock on wood, not yet!
Very nice van & presentation.đđ» My problem here is with John. Heâs too noisy & pushy. Moving on⊠Youâdâve spent less building yourselves, but if you lack the skill &/or months required, buying something outfitted is probably cost-comparable. (Iâve noticed people donât put a price on their time or labor when they share the cost of their build. True enough in a way, with time being a commodity one cannot put a price tag on.) interesting layout & a LOT of smart choices inside & out, Bonnie.đđ» Very well done. A+. 9/21/20
cant listen to the jacket sound sorry
Yeah, agree, it's the worst. We definitely took the jacket off for future videos!
That is really cheap under $80k my tellaro I bought end of September 2020 before the option poptop is already $92500 about 10k different before and after the country pick down.
We got a pretty good deal on ours, we were lucky and bought it before the pandemic (before they became IMPOSSIBLE to find), and there was a huge expo in our area the weekend before so we negotiated down below expo pricing.
