I love these kinds of period pieces as my own Dad (b.1901) came of age in this era. I still have photographs of him dressed that way, with cars like that. He grew up in Philly that had its own underworld, not quite as infamous as Chi-Town. I still have my Dad's hip flask that he carried during Prohibition..... filled with "lemonade", of course!
Same here, My friend August Caccavone was born in 1926 when Prohibition was a thing and later fought in World War II with the 7th Army in Europe as a Sgt. Since one of the gangsters is using a Tommy Gun in the episode he actually carried the weapon as squad leader and lead a platoon through southern France and Germany towards wars end

First, what a cast! Sean Patrick Flannery, Jeffrey Wright, Nicholas Turturro, Keith David, Jane Krakowski, Saginaw Grant, and more. As usual, the writing is excellent, as is the direction. It's just a great romp through history. I love these shows!

The great Jeffrey Wright. I remember watching this when it came on TV. Harrison Ford had the beard because he was doing The Fugitive at the time. I never forgot the jazz version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I loved it when I heard it then, and I still love it now. So joyful and uplifting.

This era has short and sweet and long and sour moments, but it is nothing like people deface and insult it into being. The north was primarily non racist.
At first, I assumed that Harrison Ford portrayed the role of a different character who is a skilled saxophone player whom young Indiana Jones (Sean Patrick Flanery) meets when I had seen the VHS promo of The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, but after watching this, I now realize that certainly wasn't the case.

The Harrison part takes place seven years before Crystal Skull! I kind of wish Solo had been told this way, with Harrison Ford bookending the film.
