    Travelled Malaga to Madrid on Iryo last month. Smooth and comfortable ride. Excellent staff and arrived on time. Great journey and cannot wait to do it again as soon as possible!

    Great video.
    Since you did not mention it I'll assume you're not aware (like others). On long distance/high speed regular services, like the AVE and Iryo, the ticket includes free rides on the commuter/suburban trains of Cercanías/Rodalies(Catalunya)/Feve (narrow-gauge system in a few regions) and Tram de Alicante. You get a ticket to the train station at the origin (up t0 4h before departure time) and a ticket from the train station at the destination (up to 4h from arrival time).
    You get the tickets from the machines with a code you should have on your ticket. It's usually referred to as Combinado Cercanías.
    This is not available on the low cost services like OuiGo or Avlo nor Media Distancia/Avant services.

      Many thanks for the kind words! Yes I am aware and did use it several times on my trips, just forgot to mention it in the video seeing as I didn’t really need to use Cercanías when travelling to/from my departure/arrival station! 😁

    Please do a review onboard Avlo from Alicante to Madrid onboard their secret first class.
    To go onboard the secret first class on AVLO, choose your seat, in the seat map there will be a 2+1 layout on coaches 1, 2 and 3. And voilà.

      I do have videos of all 4 operators, but will be dropping them progressively as the months go by to keep the content more varied. As for Avlo, I did luck out and get the set you’re referring to, so that will be coming soon! 😁

    Thank you for this great video ! The Irya service looks superb. I have travelled several times between Alicante and Madrid with RENFE, always Preferente class, which is very good. However, RENFE services from Alicante, and Barcelona for that matter, all terminate in Madrid Atocha, which is much better placed for the City centre. As SNCF also use Atocha rather than Chamartin, I wonder if RENFE are being “difficult” with Irya as a very serious competitor ?

    • @vshade
      @vshade Před 8 měsíci +1

      I don't know, but I don't think it is the case, as Iryo has lots of departures at Atocha to Barcelona and Malaga, way more than all the Ouigo destinations. Also in theory who handles the infrastructure and stations is ADIF.

    • @tucuuk
      @tucuuk Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@vshade There are construction projects ongoing in both stations to expand capacity and complete the connection between the lines to the north with the lines to Andalucia, the Levante region and Catalonia.
      Until they are completed around 2027/2028, Adif decided to allocate Chamartin as the main hub for the Levante line. This also affects Renfe that only has a couple of trains per day for Atocha-Valencia or Atocha-Alicante.

    The food it’s good I already try every meal on Iryo but the problem it’s like tapas it’s very small food size and Renfe have like a real hot meals of the size of a plane food sou it’s your choice I personally stay with Renfe in food competition… and OUIGO have the expeensives foods in Spanish trains… and it’s chips and coffee.

    Spanish people and media refer to Iryo as a low cost operator which is such a missrepresentation of what the operator offers

  • @Kletterhaus

      My hope is they will soon as the company matures - not sure if Ouigo or Avlo do as well given their status as low-cost operators?

    • @Kletterhaus
      @Kletterhaus Před 8 měsíci +2

      @@MidlandLondon I don't get why, as they have less operating cost, thus making the Interrail Tickets more profitable. Especially as some of those low cost services have replaced other normal full fare ones.
