Pro-line has been leading the industry in RC tires, making them right here in the USA, for over 37 yrs now. People complain about how there aren't good Local Hobby shops anymore and this kind of internet mentality of buying cheap chinese made knock-off's is part of the reason why. I'll pay the extra money to support a company who has been innovating for this hobby longer than most of the children commenting here have been alive.

I used to think like that when I worked at a hobby shop in the late 90's. I kinda still do on some things like servo's, ESC's, motors wheels n tires for racing, but when it comes to crawling I use knock off's when I can. Some of the tires are pretty decent these days, not to say they have as good as the name brands compounds but still. I still shop are last LHS in Tulsa (hobbytown) unfortunately the others have went to the way side because of online ordering I'm sure. My boss at the hobbyshop I worked at 20 years ago use to hide the RC Car Action instead of push them lol..

@@whendeathdeclareswar7458 They pay their employees in china on average less than 20 Yuan per hour, which is the USD equivalent of 2.93 USD per hour......so no shit it's cheaper. They don't follow any globally accepted labor laws. We shouldn't be supporting that. Plus, the Chinese government doesn't enforce patent laws. Which is the only way they get away with copying to begin with.

People get where your coming from but I don't think you get the fact that alot of broke people that want to get in the hobby to see what its about won't go out and buy a $60 or more set of tires to go on their 200 dollar redcat they purchased. Most people would rather put that money towards a better truck if possible and let's not forget the fact that people would rather get a better deal as in a set of wheels and tires that aren't name brand for what just one set of tires cost. I also believe that some of the cheaper Chinese alternatives could be made here if someone wanted too and still offer a decent product, everything American made doesn't have to be sky high

wd-40 does about the same and can be left for hours to soak in with very little risk of over softening. Brake Fluid works as does the newer non-volatile carb cleaners though the later needs to be treated like the PB Blaster, spray on wipe off repeat a couple of time till you get the consistency you want.

I’d consider getting liquid wrench (yellow) instead dries faster. Put it on light and brush it in J concepts sells a tire brush just for this should be dry in a 10-15 minutes.

The actual reason why tires cost that much is due to people paying that much. In the business world this is called a long tail strategy. Niche hobby products fall on the long tail of a standard distribution and have few customers. So they don’t make money off product turnover like Walmart rather price gouging people.
