FC REPAIR - RaceFlight Skitzo Edition

  • Got in the mail a RaceFlight Skitzo edition from Sergio Domingos. The fc got a burned out F4 MCU. I show how to replace the IC. The flashing procedure you can find on RaceFlight website in detail so I did not include that portion as it would have taken too much time.

    The Skitzo logo under the MCU Is really an enigma! Great tutorial! And yr ENG is perfectly fine..

    I dont kniw if you are aware but when they started making microchips some of the workers decided to start doing little artwork on the micro , there is people went around picking up old electronics from garbage just to look for those chips , so the logo under the pcu must just for electricians who would be the only ones to take them apart , i that my only guess ,

    if you replace with a new stm32 (not from old FC) , is it possible to connect the USB or should you program with a STLINK before?

    I replaced the MCU, I get the green light when I plug it in, but it won't connect if I jump the bootloader to load firmware

      Maybe some bad soldered pins... Or bad mcu?

      @@LivyuFPV mcu was brand new, everything looks like its soldered, I'll have to go in again and look. Didn't know if there was another way to download firmware on it

      @@michaeldyer6079 no, bootloader and feed in Fw. Check to see if every pin is soldered and no bridges. Hopufully you did not killed the mcu with too much heat. Good luck

    Hi brother you are doing a great job at repairing and teaching us alot can you make a video to fix osd when i conect my camera to FC It dosent show video only black screen with osd but works fine with my vtx with no osd i think something is burned it is small i cant trace it can you help us with that
