[CabView] Port Botany to Yennora Trip Train [4K] REALTIME

- Driver Route Knowledge video starting from Port Botany Departure roads through Flemington Junction to Yennora Distribution Centre rail yard in Sydney, Australia.
This part of the Port Botany to Cooks River rail link is currently undergoing duplication and signalling upgrade with many new bridges being built. This video was taken about half way through construction and evidence of some of the new tracks and bridges is present. This video was taken about 8 months after my last upload showing the construction.

Thank you for uploading this. I just can't seem to get enough of these 'Drivers-Eye' CabView videos. I play Train Simulator games, but nothing can take the place of seeing a real-life CabView video.
Brilliant quality. Learning the Road the best way. I wish they had something like this over here in the West back in 1985.

Denmark was part of Norway once so close I guess.
Living on the main western suburbs line this makes a refreshing change to the usual line views. "Nice one, son."
Fascinating - I've been walking and driving around these lines my whole life and wondered what it looked like up on the viaducts :-)
When I worked for the railways it was know as NSWGR and later changed to PTC of NSW, 😂😂😂. Substations, section huts & sig locations. Was at Granville when the accident happened, terrible, terrible time, our sub was located behind the old signal box.
Things has changed frown there since I left in 81, boy oh boy how things have changed, 😂😂. Worked from Waterfall -> Gosford -> North Shore -> Blaxland -> Bondi.

Finally got to see my old house and school from the track at Belmore Nth. Great vid thanks, brings back great memories. Used to commute from Cabramatta 45 years ago!
Love this...Did some of the LED screens at the Airport. Spent days watching the trains roll past whilst trying to work. Noticed a fox on the left @41.10 appears not bothered at all
Reminds me of my time working with State Rail NSW...started out on freight trains in 1983 at Broadmeadow Yards (Newcastle) working in the original brakevan and eventually went up the front on the locomotive as a second person. After a few years on freight I transferred to passenger trains for City Rail at Sydney Central. From memory there were quite a few systems of Safe Working to keep up to date on not sure if they still are used today though. Staff & Ticket, Miniature Electric Staff, Electric Staff, Double line track block, CTC...I'm sure there were more as I left in 1994 :)
The industrial disputes in 1984 that led to the brakevan being replaced by a flashing redlight at the rear of the train were in my days of a train guard. I was fairly new myself as am employee with State Rail NSW and just followed orders of where to go in term of carrying out my duties. I used to like the 81 class diesel engines and the 86 class electric engines in my time at Broadmeadow Loco. The 46 class electric engine were not too bad...but less room cab wise compared to the 86 class. I'm fairly sure one of the loco inspectors said the 46 class electric could out run a V8...not sure how that came about.
These days I drive buses....but did nursing before that for a few years. Nice to just see the scenery in this video without pressing the vigilant button :)
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the story's of back in the day! This locomotive is an MZ / 14 Class imported from Denmark around 2007, they also have a very small cab!

Always knew their were a myriad of purpose built freight lines in Sydney but had no idea where they went.

Looks like the old DSB litra MZ (no. 1433). Sounds like it to (thats wonderfull in my ears), the EMD 20-645E3 is hefty stuff ;-)
Just found the data on this mashine. It Is build by Nydqvist & Holm AB (Nohab) in Trollhättan (Sweden) on a licens from GM. It was deliveret to DSB (Danish National Railways), on 15 of may 1973, so today it is over 50 years old (somebody did a gooood job 👍). It has 3900 HP from it´s 20 cyl. EMD 2 stroke diesel engine. Weight 125 ton. It is 21 meters long, and can reach a speed of 165 KMH.
Sold 2007 to Independent Rail of Australia, delivered by ship 2008, in 2012 to QUBE Logistics. Now ???
Partially built by NOHAB, the body was built by Frichs in Denmark and the traction motors and main generator by EMD

Passenger trafic, the 16 cyl. versions allso had a lower gearing, so they where better at goods transport. The 4 more cyl. where for eletric heating in the passenger wagons.

Good vids, but I am curious if Australia doesn't use flange grease on the freight trains? That grinding is fierce. Certainly didn't hear that on the passenger lines when I was in Sydney.

whats point of the half finished fencing separating the goods lines and passenger lines for other then being a waste of metal ?
The fencing will eventually be finished to separate the two left (Sydney Trains Suburban) tracks from the two right (ARTC Freight) tracks. The Suburban tracks are planned to be converted to driverless trains sometime in the near future, hence the fencing to isolate those tracks for Driverless metro operation.

Not narrow gauge, New South Wales Government Railways best of British Rail, Deutsche Bundesbahn, and SNCF rolled into one. No chaired rail either.

The camera does seem to make the gauge look to small.
What was the consist on this train (how many wagons, what type/s, etc)? Also, can the signalling be explained - green over yellow or red, plus the four white vertical lights?
The 4 white vertical lights is a repeater signal indicating that the next signal has a proceed indication. When those lights are horizontal, the next signal is at stop. For Sydney's double light coloured lights red over red is stop, green over red is caution, green over yellow is medium, green over flashing yellow is preliminary medium and finally green over green is clear. Turnout indications are yellow over red is caution turnout. the next signal is at stop, and yellow over yellow is medium turnout, meaning that the next signal has a proceed indication. When you are running on the above signals, once you get on either the preliminary medium or, in some instances, a medium, you need to be proactive to where that red (stop) signal is. With Shunt signals, red over red over little green is a close up signal allowing you to pass that signal and the block ahead is clear. Where the last mainline signal at Yennora is red over red over little orange/yellow is a calling on which means that you can pass that signal but the line ahead could be obstructed with other rail traffic. I hope that this long explanation helps?

That rail needs grinding or replacing.
More then the rail needs to be done. Lots of pot holes and they also need to do some weeding.
They are duplicating this section it seems.
