All opinions are my own. Thank you xoxox DIY Danie - Jak na to + styl
Anyone else never attempted a DIY project yet they are following a bunch of great DIYers ?🤣
I just appreciate the craft. I would cry and throw things I'd I tried anything like this.
used to be me then I started doing them!
I wouldn't say I've never attempted a DIY, but certainly I'm nowhere near Danie's level.
Lol no I diy 😬 try it!
I've fallen down the rabbit hole and I'm now making mood boards for rooms I don't own
who else comes for the diy and stays for danie’s jokes...just me? lovin’ em!!!🤣
She's amazing
I just subbed after that first doozie! Here for content, subs for the corn.
Her sense of humor is so punderful! That on top of her creativity has me hooked.
@@Jen_S_Hassler1258 totally agree!
I can relate to her sense of humor, I mean how can you not especially with mistakes.
You could take a thrift store shade and use bamboo. It wouldn't look as "organic" but would still be awesome. Great job as always Danie!
That’s a good idea! And it would weight a lot less too! 👍🏼
I think I would like it better with natural bamboo, that white looks a bit odd
I was also thinking bamboo sticks would work. They're not always uniform, but could still look cool. I do love how the clay turned out.
I was also thinking wooden dowels, cut to size. More expensive than bamboo (should it grow in your yard, like it does mine), but cheaper than clay, I think?
Bamboo...great idea. Dollar Stores also sell packs of bamboo sticks.
Danie, I think my husband hates that I watch you on a Saturday because then I decide on a DIY project for the weekend that I end up roping him into 🤣
During gardening season, a lot of our stores have the bamboo sticks one can tie plants to. They’re rather irregular, because Nature, but that would be charming, sustainable, and fairly cheap.
Love both of these!!
GREAT IDEA!
Alright, your Mom's studio is #goals.
Oh, the second lamp is fabulous! I can see from looking at your cost list that using real wood branches would really bring down the cost. I live in the country & have been collecting branches for years, thinking I wanted to cover a large wooden frame I have with them. But now - a hanging lamp sounds pretty nice! Thanks so much for the tut.
I looooove the second one- such a good idea pulling out the clay on that one, I never would have thought of that! That's why you're the DIY queen. Sadly I don't have any place in my house for pendant lights...but now I'm thinking a cool artsy mirror with polymer clay... hmm
I thought the second shade would make a good floor lamp
Came for the diy and stayed because her energy
From brazil so dont have same materials, cant do
But is ok, I'm training my english.
Legal ver outro brazuca por aqui. Muitos dos materiais a gente acha em feira de usados ou bazar de caridades (a cúpula do abajur já vi muito em loja de usados). O segundo modelo com gravetos deve ficar legal né?
...and you’re doing a great job...keep up the good work!
You could also thrift a lamp shade for so much less than home depot has it.
She says right in the video (at the start of the 2nd lamp shade), “But you can source a white drum shade from anywhere please thrift this for less...”. ☺️
She has a partnership with home depot
The idea with the bamboo is ingenious! Paint it white and - voila! I’m sure it would look even better than the store-bought, but then again; I love bamboo ❤️
@@willsoe1 Bamboo would work even better than the clay and would be much lighter in weight. Good idea!
yup and you can thrift the yarn too
Ok so I had a bunch of clay....I’ve gluing these clay sticks on everything, vases, canisters etc. They are amazing! Brilliant!
Love them both! I only wish the shades were the same proportions/shape as the originals (shorter and wider) since I feel like that's part of why they look so chic. Harder to do when sourcing an actual shade for the first one, but totally doable with the second shade since you get to decide how long the sticks are and how far apart to place the rings. Still love them both!
I looooove that you do the math based on if you were to buy everything because not all of us have everything so it's great to know how much would it really cost us! 👏👏👏thank you! 😘
def doable - especially if you thrift the lamp shades.
Loved them both, but was so shocked you had made the “sticks” for the second lamp! I’m thinking about sourcing bamboo sticks to make a more wood like duplicate. I loved the “embroidered” one as well. My colors are more boho or southwest, but love the idea. I’m thinking some cross stitching would be so cute.
Great job.
I was thinking bamboo too! If you find a good source please post it!
@Proverbial Woman fantastic ideas. Btw, I just checked the garden center at Home Depot in the US and they sell a pack of 6 (6ft tall) all natural bamboo garden stakes for $ 2.98
That's exactly what I was thinking! Dollarama has bamboo sticks for so cheap!
Menards also sells Bamboo rods. If they're not in the store, check online😉
And Bamboo is much lighter😉
I don’t usually like when DIYers change certain aspects of what they are trying to dupe but I really like the different yarn color you chose. It really pops! Also I love the Freya lamp and would probably try to dupe it too if I had a space for it. I like that you went with clay. I thought you were going to use wooden dowels but that would have removed the organic vibe. I would attempt dowels and cover them in a thin layer of air dry clay. That would probably be a lot lighter too. Love them both!
You definitely succeeded with both of these! I really want to try them out myself! 😍 For the second lampshade I think it would've worked fine making your own clay (like saltdough clay) and thus also minimizing the cost a bit.
The Sculpey sticks look wonderful. It's a lot more work, but you really nailed the look of the original.
DIY theory: is it maybe possible to replace the clay with foam dowels and maybe change up their shape by heating them with a heat gun or a hand held sander. Anyways, ty for another great video! Looking forward to more!
Wow, I've been watching your videos on and off, but I have to say that I'm absolutely impressed with the quality of every diy you do AND the format of your videos! I also appreciate when you break down costs in CAD :) Congrats on the new house btw!
They look nice, I like ghe first shade it adds a touch of coziness. The power of positivity has such an impact on all aspects of crafting.
Love them both. The first one could be so flexible because you could do it in any color you wanted really. The second one I will definitely be looking for steps since I live in the woods on top of mountain that shouldn't be too hard. Thanks Dani
Yay! Love this series! And your content! Congrats on the new home!❤️
I just imagine that 8lbs of hard clay falling on my head.
Love the “white stick” shade - amazing!
They both turned out so cute, but the freya dupe is my fav. It looks very very expensive, and its MAGICAL at night with the light on. Good work Danie!
I’m trying to have a woodsy feel in my room and I love this!!!! Thank you!!! It’s expensive but it’s still cheaper and how amazing to say you made it!!!! I actually bought this bundle of really long white slightly wavy sticks from Micheal’s! They were like $3.00!!! Haha I can’t wait to try it!!
I was DEFINITELY skeptical about the second lamp while you were making it, but I LOVE how it turned out 😍
I love this series. Once again, beautiful job!
I do love that clay sticks lamp--I've been looking for a way to disguise a plain dining room lampshade and this may be it. thanks!
I definitely would make this white lamp for my home. Especially now that I have a new home decor challenge in front of me. Love this one!
Love love love your videos! Those lights are AMAZING! Great job!
Love that last light fixture! Thank you for doing that extra math. I enjoy knowing how much u had to spend but appreciate knowing the cost from scratch! Think I'll have to do that polymer hack!!!
Perfect timing! I just picked up a lamp at flea market this morning. It needs a shade. This was inspiring. I'm restraining it and painting the base as well.
Oh that chandelier made with drift wood would be amazing 😍
love the freya / sticks chandelier. really beautiful!
I was all set to hate the 2nd lampshade but nope, it is GORGEOUS! Great job!
Hi Danie! I discovered you on Alex's channel doing makeovers for small spaces. I wished I lived in Canada! I would so be your friend! I love DIY and doing high-quality dupes! I think you are so talented....love your channel and will be watching more! Thanks so much for posting! My daughter (her name is Alexz too!) is moving into a small studio apartment and will need ideas to make her new place a home. With her moving it is a two for one deal because i get to makeover my space after she leaves and help her with her new space...! Yea! We are both so excited. We will both be staying tuned! Thanks. Love your energy and your channel! Peace!
I love the Freya pending light the most, it's extraordinary! Thank you for showing, although I think I'd go into the woods searching for the sticks :D
I love both of these-I would make both of these and could change up the designs in the first one just to match a specific decor! I especially love the Freya lamp and would love to have that for myself! Love your ideas and I especially love your sense of humor and all the play with words and phrases! Makes me laugh!!
I’d totally recreate the freya, that turned out STUNNINGLY beautiful!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you Danie, my favorite is the second one. Congratulations!
LOVE this video!!! I'm making both of these for my salon!!! Love the look of both!!
Love all you episodes! You are awesome! I love what you do! Keep inspiring
WOW I am impressed! I couldn't decide I Love them both! Well done! ❤
Love the Freya dupe! I'm definitely gonna try it in my next place, but I think I'll try and source sticks. Thanks for the idea!
These are gorgeous! I love the Frea shade!!
Soooo amazing and talented!! 😍😍😍😍
Lovely lampshades. And I'm always happy top see my alltime favourite that blue fabrique chair, Danie paintet to a brown leather one.😍
Great job Danie! Love them both ❤️!!
I always get so excited for your new uploads!!! Also I’m from the east coast of Canada and call pencil crayons “pencil crayons” but everyone here calls them “leads”... it made me so happy to hear you say pencil crayon hahahaha
Wow!!!! That Freya dupe is immmmmmpresssive! And what a savings! Thanks for sharing.
Both turned out beautifully
Roses are red,
Ms. Danie is best at DIY,
She looks like a sophisticated spy.
She does look like it haha
Wow 👏 😮 👏
I loved both lamp shades!! The stitch lampshade looks easier to make for a beginner like me!!
I like the idea of sticks or bamboo for the 2nd lampshade too!!
Awesome job Danie!! Always so much fun watching!!
I’m loving this great job always
I would totally make the stick lamp! Love this,
Spectacular!! I love it!
Love this video!! Oh. Wow, going to try this!! Thank you DAni!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🏻
Danie the lights turned out really nice! The Freya light was my favorite.
That Freya lamp is stunning! I actually want to give it a try. Also can i say i really enjoy your clay projects, we need more of these!
Ugh i want both of them! Well done danie! Once again i am sold xx
love both lamps, the cross stitch looks like it would be lovely in my living room
That stick lamp dupe!!!!!! OMG! LOVE IT!!!!!
love the clay lamp you have inspired me to make it. I'm going to go on a stick hunt! thanks for the inspiration
LOVE, Love, love that 2nd lamp shade.
Great job on both!
I am already picturing the Freya in my house. Love this DIY
Love the second lamp!!! The first one I would diy to because I can choose my one colors.
Total success...love them both!
Yes!!! Love this!! Keep it up! ✌🏼
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The Freya!!!! Well Done!!
Once again you nailed both and you are mind blowingly talented PERFECTION !!!! I love your sense of humor. I would most definitely dupe these you make it achievable. I love you mommas room too 👏🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️
Holy crap!!!! Amazing DIYs! Thanks Dani & her mom!!!
The Freya shade inspired me. I have bamboo in my back yard that would totally work for this. Spray painting it would be easy! So cool. Thanks for the inspo. 🙌🏻🎋
Great DIY’s!!
Compliments! Love both projects, very nice lampeshades!
Obsessed with the one you made of clay ... Beautiful Job Danie ❣
Such a nice energy to wake up to! Would love to see a studio tour video!
Yay I'm sooo excited 🤗
I like both but the clay one I like a little bit better because I don't like the look of the inside of the first shade. It would have looked cleaner if the pattern repeated on the inside even though it would have probably been more work. But maybe leaving one of the ends a bit longer and connecting it with glue to the shorter end would have been an option, so that it looks cleaner but you don't have to knot every single string :)
I wish you a nice weekend! 😊
Maybe glue a light fabric in the inside of the first lamp if you didn't like the pattern it makes inside?
You did splendidly! Really smart.
I loved them both!
My fav is the chandelier! Love your videos you always put me in such a great mood! Thank you 😘❣
Great lamps !!! I love them both ..
Oh my! The stick lampshade is brilliant. And, using Sculptey clay, genius!
Love the stick lamp!
Both look amazing!! I love a good Dupe!
Love it! I'm def going to try the first one.
I did a small dollar tree version of some Anthropologie frames recently.
Love the Freya chandelier...great idea rolling out the sticks...
Really like both lamps. Both look great!
Love the lamp shade
Loved the second lamp!
I absolutely love the clay twig lamp. I am going to use the idea on a small lamp I already own. This is going to be fun.
So pleased to see another video
Love the Freya shade!!
Love this sticks rant! Very cool as usual x
Dani you're so much fun to watch! I think the second project looks like it could fall down because of its weight! I like what others suggested using bamboo and a second hand shade ( much cheaper too). The first one looks like fun but alot of measuring!
I liked the frays chandelier!! Really pretty!
The stick lamp love love it😍🤩
