Buckeye fan here… Rhule is a solid guy. I hope he is successful. I think he truly gets it
Nebraska isn't Temple, Baylor, Colorado, which all required ground up rebuilds across-the-board this program is in the process of reboot, re-evaluate, regroup, rejuvenate, reload, the talent is already on board it's only in need of a immediate jump-start, the turnaround will be will be immediate personnel prediction 9-3 10-2.
@@sleepyg2011 I have us around 8-4 with losses to Michigan Wisconsin Illinois and MAYBE Minnesota. Small part of me thinks we win that opener but drop another instead
@@sleepyg2011rooting for coach Rule & Nebraska but this year will likely be .500 and a bowl game. 7-5 would be great. GBR!!!
I hope he can turn Nebraska around that’d be great for college football
This guy can full on have the mentality to win the West but he won’t show it. He’s extremely humble and player focused, like a good coach should be. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him get to 8 wins this season. Good luck Rhule!
Indeed calm cool collective !!
I'm rooting for Rhule and Nebraska. He is such a likeable person and Nebraska is one of the great programs of all time!
Thanks, I'm 63 and grew up during the best of times. I hope I get to see them again before I leave this world.
He will lead them to the playoff
Matt's cool its his son Ja that be tainting the family name.
@@MDTFoodAndTravel I did like his take on 9/11 though. Much needed during that time
@@MDTFoodAndTravel😂the resemblance is unCANNY
Anyone who can turn Temple into a competitive team is a good coach. Rhule was given a raw deal in the nfl
A raw deal?! He was paid more than most starting coaches and got to pick his players.
He's a very good college coach but the NFL is another level. Harbaugh, Carroll, Johnson, the list is small.
There's nothing wrong with not being good enough to coach in the NFL as only about 10 coaches on the planet truly are.
False. Manny Diaz made temple competitive, then went to u Miami with good players and stunk it up for 3 years
A raw deal? He FAILED. Own it. He was paid millions and accomplished nothing . He is.a perfect fit for a Nebraska coach. Overpaid and hasn't won anything.
@@spookedysharkManny Diaz never coached a game at temple wtf are you taking about. He was the DC at Miami, took the temple job then Richt retired and he came back to Miami to take the miami HC job. You don’t even know what you’re talking about.
Matt Rhule is awesome ..Go Big Red!🏉
He's kind of sexy too. Wouldn't mind seeing him without a shirt on.
He's right about Deion! So good for CFB and the content they put out making that program relevant is aaesome
Man, every time I watch this coach, it’s nice to see a Nebraska coach so downright up front about everything. I’m ready for some wins though coach, which is exactly what they touched on. I’ll be happy with a winning season for once. And I think Rhule is preparing this team to finish games and do that hopefully. On the other hand, I like what he said about college football’s media focusing on Deion. It is good for college football to have some attention in other places nationally.
I love Coach Rhule's approach to coaching and life in general. It feels like he has his priorities straight.
Decades back, Colin spent time in Omaha for College World Series. I heard he a lot of fun. So when he thought of Nebraska - Omaha (probably) came to mind first. (One Hour from Lincoln.)
It's okay if people from large markets (outsides) refer to either, to them its all Nebraska. You have to remember the University of Nebraska wouldn't have even been considered for the BIG 10 without Omaha because we needed our medical school to apply, which is in Omaha.
I live in Lincoln and work downtown. The distance from Omaha to Lincoln is 50 min tops. And Omaha keeps expanding west while Lincoln expands east. At some point they'll be close to the same metropolitan area
@@tysonkrehnke2835
Not at some time soon, it’s a 45 minute drive from Gretna to the far east portion of Lincoln, it’ll take a VERY long time for that
@@titankiller5287 I guess but it depends what you call Lincoln Metro and Omaha metro. Waverly to Gretna is 40 min. Now what happens if greenwood becomes part of it and further west of Gretna. I know what you're saying but idk seems possible
@@tysonkrehnke2835waverly to gretna is 40 mins if you’re driving slow in the right lane. If you follow the flow of traffic it’s 30-35 mins. It’s really not far from middle of Omaha to the stadium in Lincoln. 45 mins easy and an hour on gameday.
When Colin said Omaha instead of Lincoln 🤣
You… he wasn’t… okie
Omaha and Lincoln are literally 30-45 minutes apart and most of us view them kind of as one metro area. Lincoln is 300k itself btw. It ain’t just a tiny college town.
@@brianyoungberg9904born and raised in Lincoln and no one here thinks of Omaha as the same thing as Lincoln. 2 very different cities.
@@CivilizedSavagegrew up in rural Nebraska and went to Lincoln for college and lived/ worked in Omaha for a couple years. Very different cities for sure. Each offer something unique

This guy Matt is pretty dope! 🔥
I gotta say, Colin’s Rolodex is beyond impressive! He and Rich Eisen have some awesome guests! ⭐️ ⭐️
It's called working for a major media corporation like FOX .. although I don't doubt his connections in general
The university of Nebraska ain’t even in Omaha…. What a clown 😂
Basically one metro area
@@brianyoungberg9904Omaha and Lincoln are not one metro area. Another clown take.
@@brianyoungberg9904 wrong lmao… I guess San Diego and LA are the same metro too
Matt Rhule’s situation in the NFL reminds me of what Nick Saban said about why he left Miami - ‘if you don’t have one guy (QB), it’s all for nothing.’
Matt Rhule can’t say anything wrong. What he said about it being the seniors fourth year even though it’s his first was incredible.
Yes it was. The previous coach came in and said all we had were bad players and he needed to turn over the roster. Which coach gets buy-in from the inherited players?
Except for it just being false. There isn't a "bunch" of seniors on this team that are taking it by horns to turn it around. Two-deep depth chart was released today shows like 8 seniors out of 50+. Nebraska's success or failure this year will likely have little to do with the seniors.
@@paulkapke9284 you’re right, a couple of upper classmen couldn’t lead this team from the front. What was I thinking!?! Can’t imagine why a coach would say such a thing!!!
Rhule says all the rights things and has a good college track record. This is Nebraska though, let’s see how our year shapes out.
GO BIG RED!!!!
Everybody in these comments whining about Colin "not knowing the difference" between Lincoln and Omaha- dude lol relax. Colin was just mentioning how he thinks Omaha is nice. He knows UNL is Lincoln 🤦🏻♂️ folks will get worked up about literally nothing jeez
p.s. objectively Omaha us miles better than Lincoln
I just need 6 wins this year and i definitely think it’s possible
Exactly I would be happier with that because it’s progress
6 wins more than doable, I’m thinking closer to 7 or 8. 9 now is most likely unrealistic and delusional.
@@AryamAmin with how frost went I just don’t want to get to exciteddd but i’m really confident in Rhule and his way of doing things
@@Dezc887 dude 100% get it. He’s played boy cried wolf with the fans for 5 years now, so there’s not much kool aid left for Rhule, and Rhule deserves the Kool Aid. Frost literally destroyed this program but I am confident that Rhule can do it in year 1
@@AryamAminNebraska was much worse off when Frost took over then they were when Rhule was hired. That being said, bad coaching and play calling hurt Nebraska under Frost more then anything.
This season is so great
Colin is an all time backtracker 😂
So happy to have this coach in place
GBR!!!
Omaha is great but UNL is in Lincoln.
He got an eight year deal from Nebraska to coach football? Ok, that makes total sense as to why hes not on that "American Pickers" show anymore...
Great segment!!!
Shouting out the South Carolina talent he’s worked with
Omaha. LFG!!!
I love the hire in Matt Rhule, I wish he talked a little more confident in our team an players in this interview. We have a roster to compete with the best in the big 10 west. Go Skers
Lol we do? A team with returning starters producing 4 wins last season and transfers that haven't played in the Big10, not to mention a snap this season! You are the definition of a fan that drinks the kool-aid

I worked with Fanatics for a bit and I was around the stadium almost daily. I ran into Rhule on a couple occasions. He seems like a really great guy. I’m not a big Husker fan but I’m excited to see what he can do.
Who cares they won't win nothing
Please make my cornhuskers relevant again, its been too long for the commited fan
Omaha?!?!?!?! Coach Rhule is too nice. He should have said, “ Dude; The Cornhuskers are from Lincoln, Nebraska!!!!! Get your act together.” That opening line was insulting to all Husker fans!!!!
The only thing that Lincoln has that Omaha doesn’t is the university and the football team. Everything else that big cities have Omaha either has it and Lincoln doesn’t or has a much better version. Lincoln is pretty small and boring aside from campus and the surrounding areas. It is a large college town. Omaha is more of a big city.
Well there are plenty of husker fans in omaha too. And the more well known city
Nebraska plays in Lincoln, not Omaha. Great job Colin
He knows
So glad this dude’s outta Carolina
Can we start a petition for them to run the triple option again?
year 1 i hope for a bowl game. year 2 if no bowl game year 1, i expect a bowl game. year 3 two bowl games under the belt. year 4 finishing in the top 6 of the conference. year 5-9 some 10+ winning seasons and hopefully Big 10 conf champ appearances. year 10+ Big 10 champs and playoff contenders.
I don't wanna wait 10 years for big ten championships
Lincoln, Nebraska.. not Omaha
"Omaha" you embarrasse yourself every day collin
God i cringed when he said Omaha instead of Lincoln. I know Colin is a big college football fan, he has to know Nebraska plays in Lincoln, right? RIGHT?!
Colin is aware the difference between Omaha and Lincoln. Watch the full segment.
He wasn't a big fan of college football when he first got the espn gig...he said he never watched college football before on the radio...he does it now because its how he gets paid
Go Big Red!!!!☠️☠️☠️☠️
Omaha is underrated
Nebraska football is in Lincoln Nebraska not Omaha and Lincoln is a great town
Real winners don't take long to start winning. Great coaches always win big and they win quickly! Riley at USC, Day at OSU, Kelly at Notre Dame, Harbaugh at Michigan, Kirby at UGA, Saban at Bama, Urban at everywhere, Fickel at Cinci, Dabo at Clemson, Brohm at Purdue, Bielema at Illinois, Tom Osborne, Bob Devaney, all the top 10 coaches, and on and on. So if Rhule doesn't create an explosively good team right out the gate in 1 or 2 years please just fire him so we can move on quickly from what will be an inevitable firing anyway. Honest to god dead serious. We don't need no 3 to 5 years to realize a coach isn't any good. That's what average to below average coaches need and being average at Nebraska is a guaranteed firing.
It's gonna be a long ling season.
Omaha is pretty okay, but the team is in Lincoln my dude.
Oh Colin can’t even check where Nebraska is it’s Lincoln not Omaha man come on
Sometime Colin’s takes are cringe worthy! But can’t deny the fact that Colin is an excellent interviewer. 😊
When has Collins been a fan of the midwest???
I'm not sold yet I feel like he hasn't told me anything but it gunna take a few years dats all
7 days until kickoff... GBR!!!
1 hour and change, pal
Shoutout Omaha love Omaha goes hard,
Lincoln on the other hand….
GBR!
Matt.ruhle.can.you.be.another.big.man.as.in.tom.osbourne
Let's be real, Lincoln is almost just an extended suburb of Omaha already. Very short drive, and the area around Omaha is gigantic compared to Lincoln.
Just a fun side note to anyone whoever visits Omaha. Make sure you are driving at least 20 over the speed limit, or you are going to slow. Craziest place in the country to drive.
Lincoln > Omaha
@@dundundun5866 Lincolnites always feel that way, but it is objectively untrue. There is almost nothing in Lincoln superior to Omaha, outside of it being smaller and certain people are smaller enjoyers. Entertainment, beauty, food, schools, jobs, all better in Omaha.
The most important thing that makes Omaha better? After 11pm all the street lights are flashing yellow. Lincoln and everything staying regular is super annoying in a town that is extremely hard to get around in anyways.
Lol Colin not know Nebraska plays in Lincoln?
Please help us husker fans. We need glory and wins again
Talk about his tenure in the NFL!
I'll go 4-8 instead of 3-9 since Ohio st isn't on their schedule
I mean, Omaha is way better than Lincoln to be fair.
As a Panthers fan..when I see his face my blood pressure rises

UCF fans still laughing over Frost. Nobody wants to play for Nebraska…
Hey nobody at UCF told us he was a woman chasing alcoholic!
Nobody wants to play for Nebraska but the new staff brought in *checks notes* 40 new players either portal guys or HS recruits. Will you still be laughing when UCF gets smacked in the Big12?
Funny where is UCF in the recruiting ranking?Oh right I stopped scrolling down when I came across Nebraska.
Lol how many current NFL players played at UCF vs NEB? How many former Heisman? What's UCF's all time record? Who's their best player all time? It's not even comparable. No one cares about UCF football.
UCF about to get smacked in the Big 12. You lightning in a bottle season was made most of George O’Leary’s former players. Frost would’ve been mediocre had he stayed at UCF.

His record at Carolina.
But hey...who checks past employment performance and failures before hiring someone? .....riiiiight?
He helped ruin my favorite pro team.. now he has come to finish off my home team as well.
I’m not a fan of comparing college coaches to NFL coaches. While both are football, the sport requires completely different kinds of coaches for each level. Even successful NFL coaches will sometimes fail to win with their first NFL gig.
Let's be honest, your pro team was ruined before Rhule showed up. 5 winning seasons out of 26?? If all college coaches were judged by their NFL records, the likes of Saban, Kelly, and Carroll would be considered losers.
You based his coaching off of the NFL and failed to look at what he did at Baylor and Temple. Do your research first.
Wait, so you think Nebraska hired him based off his NFL record? 😂 yeah it definitely wasn't because he was able to turn around both college programs he's been to.
And the Panthers are NFLs trash. They have never had back to back winning seasons in FRANCHISE HISTORY. Poverty team.
@@davidmay3464 Thats why i said "finish them off:.

No it’s not. College football is cyclical. Get the right coach and things can turn around quickly.
Lol what? According to who?
You forgot how bad Alabama sucked before they hired Saban. I am not saying Rhule is the next Saban but it's ridiculous to think that Nebraska, one of the blue blood programs won't ever be good again.
