  • Visiting northern New Mexico for the first time was such a special treat. In six short days we soaked up as much as possible that this special place had to offer. Here's a recap with links to places we visited so you can plan your own trip to this amazing state with a unique culture unlike anywhere else in the world.
    DAY ONE:
-On day one we visited the Saturday Farmer's Market in Santa Fe nearby the train station. Everything was so local and authentic the the culture of the area: santafefarmersmarket.com/farm...
-Then we drove an hour and a half north of Santa Fe to the lovely Casita de Arrebol in Abiqiui, NM home to Georgia O'Keeffe's Ghost Ranch. We would call this incredible AirBnb set on 52 acres of your own private desert home for the next two nights. Click here to book Casita de Arrebol: www.airbnb.com/rooms/48169510...
-The host of Casita de Arrebol had a special surprise for us, meeting local artist Andrea Isabel Vargas who previously spent a week at the Casita : www.andreavargasfineart.com/
    DAY TWO:
-Natalie's 30th birthday was spent in the most perfect way imaginable! She loves quiet days in nature and that's just what she got! After enjoying a cup of coffee while watching the sun rise over the gorgeous desert landscape. For lunch we started our foodie tour of NM by visiting this hole in the wall roadside eatery and ordering a local specialty, green chili burgers! socorros-restaurant.business....
-Then off to an afternoon of soaking in Ojo Caliente Hot Springs: ojosparesorts.com/ojo-caliente/
    DAY THREE:
-Sadly the day we checked out of our new favorite little slice of heaven known as Casita de Arrebol, but we were excited to explore more of the Santa Fe area! Tip: If you want to spend a day walking around the different shops of Santa Fe be sure to do so before 4pm or on a Saturday. Many businesses shut down earlier and on Sundays.
    - We also enjoyed the most delicious Tamales at Posa's! santafetamales.com/
    DAY FOUR:
-We visited the ancient Pueblo cliff dwellings at Bandelier National Monument. It was a highly immersive way to learn about how the Pueblo people once lived and thrived in this area. We couldn't recommend visiting enough this beautiful place only 45 minutes from downtown Santa Fe.
    DAY FIVE:
-It was a LONG drive to Taos Ski Valley for day five, but totally worth it. We recommend staying nearby if going to Taos. The shred was real. Book your lift tickets in advance to save $$ and go midweek to avoid the crowds! www.skitaos.com/
    DAY SIX:
-After an exhausting couple of days we stayed local and enjoyed some great biking just outside the city at a local bike park followed by a beautiful sunset hike.
We can't wait to go back to New Mexico. It is indeed the Land of Enchantment.
