- I get asked all the time what does my exhaust system sounds like, well hopefully this video is able to answer that question. Now, I know that a v6 cannot sound like a Hemi, but I really wanted to show the comparison between the two since there are some people who thinks my Charger sounds like a Hemi.

Wym, V6 has always been great. Look at the M3s and M4s also Porsche Macan gts. A lot of nice cars that sound amazing are also V6 engines

Well it sounds great!!...does it sound like a hemi v8...no!...but that's not a bad thing!!...it sounds aggressive and mean!...but who cares if it doesnt sound like a hemi!...if I was sitting next to you at a red light I would definitely know you dont have a stock v6 and my first thought would be "I need to take this car seriously "!...I personally have a 392 srt and I have been walked by a couple of v6 cars out there one had turbo and the other had a procharger!...when you take into account the weight saving and the naturally high revving of a modified v6 it makes sense!...I have respect!

Nothing beats the V8 sound but I'm not stupid, I know your supercharged V6 would give my 5.7 hemi a run for it's money for sure. Props man.

I have muffler and resonator deletes on my 2019 Challenger SXT. I added two FlowMaster Super 10’s at the rear resonator position. While I was sitting idle on different occasions, I had been asked if I had the HellCat or ScatPack. Granted, the two guys who complimented me about my set up were not muscle car owners. They may not have the “ear” to hear true aggressiveness in a set up. But I was proud of my set up after those comments. Unfortunately I have never heard my car, (other than me driving) going down the road. My wife will not drive the “Burgundy Bandit” so I can’t get a true feel of the sound from the outside. Your set up is pretty cool. And thanks for doing the compare. That was good to see.

Good educational vid. Anyone that says ANY V6 ever sounds like a V8 is clueless. The only way to make a V6 sound like a V8 is to find a way to add 2 more cylinders.

I won't lie it definitely doesn't sound like a hemi BUT thats the best damn sounding v6 ive ever heard. Most v6 engines sound like shit with exhaust but not this one. Big ups 🤙
I have a 76 f150 with long tube headers, and true dual 2.5in pipe into magna flow mufflers. Also have two cutouts dumping right out the headers when opened.
Honestly when being revved the V6 Note sounds almost as good as the V8 IMO. Not as powerful but very clean sounding. Of course you can't beat the startup and idle sound of the V8. Cool ride regardless.

Everyone loves an 8 but when someone makes their v6 just filthy like this one everyone’s crowded around the 6. It’s just cool seeing what people have out there, everyone’s got a flavor
Dodge Challenger V6 I just did the straight pipe now I'm getting the air intake on this week it's going to give me more power and a better sound
After riding in cars with forced induction v6 cars, I've learned that almost any engine/motor can be modified to make more horsepower than almost any stock vehicle. At this point, when cars with no exhaust note at all (tesla) are beating the baddest v8s... I no longer care.

I got a 2017 V6 Camaro, I did a muffler delete & I put a flowmaster super 10 in place of the resonator! It sounds really good.. it's louder then the V8 BUT it's a different sound...

Got an 08 charger r/t with stock manifold No cats and SLP loudmouth 1 series resonators. The best sound I’ve ever got out of my car. Definitely recommend. Don’t need to buy vehicle specific slps as long as you have the diameter correct.
Aww man this makes me miss my 2006 Dodge Charger R/T. Soon enough i’ll probably a newer version
V6 2015 Mustang! X pipe cross over, with a Flowmaster outlaw axle back! The key with mine is it’s not the classic box chamber you always see with Flowmaster even on the American thunder. My outlaw “mufflers” are cylindrical with metal ring ribs on the insides that give out a deep burble growl. But my v6 can hit 7k on the tac and it sounds like a GTR without turbos
With me having experience with music, and comparing the 2 exhaust notes in my opinion the Boosted 6 isn’t far off in sound. It sounds like it’s an octave higher with a bit more treble vs the Scat that’s just an octave lower with a bit of bass in it. Both are great sounding vehicles and I love that you have the rev limiter remover with your tune.
It definitely sounds damn good especially with that blower but you have to love the sound of the hemi opening up.
That orange Charger is done very tastefully. Nice. The Hemi sounded to me like the cats were deleted. I would never own another Hemi again. 16 plugs to change and too many problems, plus the tick. No spanks.

Hey d dot ford the 3.5L v6 is a hemi because the combustion chamber is hemispheric and when the chamber is hemispherical the car is faster. somehow producing more hp and torque then a regular non hemispherical engine so the 3.5L v6 is a hemi(I put a hemi badge on my 3.5 charger lol)
A 2013 5.7 R/T charger , Stock exhaust with catalytic & rear muffler deleted
V6's can have an exotic-ish sound if you get the right exhaust. Sounds great.
I got 2007 Dodge Charger with a flowmaster cat-back exhaust system.

I have an 07 Accord V6 with mid muffler delete and magnaflow axle back, probably the most aggressive set up I’ve seen with this year model Accord
The sound of the challenger had a more aggressive sound but DAMN! your v6 sounds good 💯💯💯
Yea it’s so funny because there will be days when I’m like damn my car sounds so damn good but then I hang out when my hemi friends and they remind me what I drive lol

I've got Borla extremes with resonater removed on my 2015 chrysler 300S 5.7 hemi. Get compliments on the sound constantly, even by cops that pulled me over. 5.7 hemi+ borla extremes=best sounding exhaust I've heard. The 8speed idles so low it doesn't drone and is never overwhelmingly loud. Nice work on getting the V6 sounding mean af.

Got a 2012 v6 with a 700$ custom exhaust cai and overkill tune sounds nothing like av8 but still mean af and can beat a stock rt but would still trade her in for that v8 sound

I've had a 2012 challenger 3.6 a 14 5.7 and currently a 2014 charger 5.7, You can't make any v6 sound like a v8 but this v6 sounds great! I've done a resonate delete on my old 14 challenger rt it sounded pretty good but I think I'm gonna go with the mid muffler on my Charger

I’ve got a grand Cherokee with 3” flowmaster, with the 4.7 and it sounds great. Crackles and growls without headers or cam. But they are something we are hoping to do soon! Healthy sounding and aggressive sounding V6!
I have a v6 procharged mustang my first v6 always owned v8s. Neways mine sounds loud at cold start but does calm down eventually once it’s warm. I have a full corsa exhaust and shorty headers. Btw your car looks really nice man

This is as honest I can ever get: I have a 392 Charger so I know the 6.4 sound BUT I looked away from the screen for a moment and heard the scat pack start up...it wasn't the scat pack. It was the 6 shot. Point is, that baby sounds fucking beautiful and it really does get throaty. Very nice. 10/10, would give thumbs up if I pull up next to you.

2009 GS350 AWD. 2GR-FSE engine. Swapped OEM mufflers for Flowmaster 40 series.

Lots of people bashing on others who choose to buy a v-6 even though it's really none of their business. I used a common sense approach. I loved the look of the challenger but live far enough from work that I had a legitimate concern for gas mileage. Minus the great sound of a v-8, you get way better mileage, cheaper insurance and can supercharge it and have over 400 wheel horsepower.

2019 challenger sxt AWD here, Yeah I left the stock resonators in and did a rear muffler delete, definitely a must to take those rears off. Otherwise it ends up sounding tinny af. Saving for a RIPP kit currently, should be a lot of fun after the install!

I've tried a shit ton of different ways on my 3.6 challenger, best thing I could find was cutting off resonators and installing black widow race venoms and starit piped back. There are youtube vids of this as well. Not a v8 but sounds quite nice

I've got a 70 Chrysler New Yorker. I cut off the pipe at the joint in the mid section of the car because it was broken beyond repair. Hoping to get a dual exhaust setup soon. Your Charger sounds mean for a V6 bro 👌

Your car sounds good. Very aggressive sounding but it still sounds like a V6 which isn't a bad thing. I have a 2016 Challenger SXT. I know our cars will never sound like Hemis but we can still prove to the naysayers that the v6s can sound good too.
I had Flowmaster 40's originally but the FMs just don't sound good on the v6s in my opinion. They sound too "tinny." I'm currently running Cherrybomb Vortex mufflers with no resonators and quad tips and I get compliments all the time on my exhaust even from the v8 guys I run with. I have vids on my page. I have a Mazda b2500 (its a 4 cylinder ranger with different badges lol)
Stock manifold -> 2.5” pipe -> high flow cat -> 2.5” I/O Black widow venom 250 muffler -> y-pipe to split 2.25” pipes out the back to 3.5” tips. It’s truly American rice, but I definitely love the black widow. I’d say they’re worth considering, but they’re also pretty pricey mufflers. It might be easier to add rear ones in though cause they have some pretty small bullet style mufflers.

I think we should all get out of the mindset of trying to make v6s sound like Hemis and just go for what sounds best to you if you have a v6. I had that mindset of wanting to sound like a hemi when I had my v6. A hemi sounds like a hemi with or without an exhaust

I have a 2015 challenger sxt with the super track pak and its straight piped. Also have ripp supercharger on it. Making 440whp. Sounds amazing

They sound very similar for what it is. Obviously it doesn't have quite the rumble or the harmonic tone of the v8 but I definitely can tell where people are coming from when they do say it sounds like a v8. Not bad at all.

I’m an engineer whenever you boost the engine or make any mod you have to modify everything in the car to be able to hold up
Just don’t expect anything like the transmission and the rear diff to last a long time because they won’t hold up
Put a bigger performance camshaft in and it’ll sound better than some V8’s

@@natec4332 were i live the cops give you crap if its to loud. My buddy has the same car as me and straight piped his and got 2 tickets in a week. So he had to put mufflers on it. My next project is single pipe headers instead of the cast crap on it and larger higher flow cats.

2015 genesis coupe 3.8, downpipe, test pipes, isr race exhaust. No cats, no muffler, except for primary cats on headers. I dare say it sounds similar to an r35

Btw your car sounds beast. A buddy of mine has a Kona blue 2017 Dodge Charger with the srt body kit and is actively getting exhaust work done. He’s getting the flowmaster super 10’s put on and has had the resonators deleted
