  • One of the rules of plumbing is waste runs downhill. Except for when it doesnt! Sometimes in plumbing you just dont have the fall for your sewer and you need waste to go uphill. Thats where the sewer pump comes in. Sewer pumps, lift stations, grinder pumps, sump pumps, etc. are all very similar in nature. Check this video out to learn more about how a plumbing sewer pump works.

    Great video. I have similar pump and basin installation. I always wondered if anybody else had the issue with fat and grease gathering and how to get rid of it. That's exactly what I do- get in there and scrape it off the wall and float.

      INSTALL kitchen grease trap, then you can scrap grease off in the kitchen instead of smelling shit while doing the chore.

    Maybe you can answer a question for me, I am in the process of installing a 2" pipe from a detached garage I just built and I have to put in a gravity pump system, the pipe is approximately 140' long, my 4" septic tank main in front of the house is only 6" below the ground and I really need to install my 2" much lower. Approximately 2' lower, once the pump kicks on can it push the liquid up that 2' of pipe through the septic T ?

    why would one use this vertical discharge unit with 18" riser kit vs the horizontal unit that they sell for an outdoor install? Seems like the horizontal one is better for outdoor usage.

    Liked the video. Good presentation. What is your name? What is the product name? How much does it cost? Where can it be bought? Where are you located? You could put all of this helpful information below the video and it would be very much appreciated. Thanks! This is intended as positive feedback. In addition to this, on a matter of "we can go to the moon and mars, why can't we build a sewage system that handles grease and other foreign objects," looks like there is a great opportunity for somebody to "build a better crap trap" than what's available. I'm quite serious about this: when somebody can accidentally "take out" a 1 or 2 thousand dollar pump with 3 or 4 baby wipes, there is something seriously wrong with the design. This is not my area of expertise (at all--as you can tell), but I can't believe these so-called "powerful systems" need to be so blasted delicate and fragile! You should build the better system and get rich off of it!

    • @rollandelliott
      @rollandelliott Před 2 lety

      $1000 to $2000 grinder pumps can shred baby wipes. Cheaper $500 units like this one can't. You'd have to be really stupid to spend an extra $1500 on a unit because people that live with you are so damn stupid they can't learn what not to flush. There is not a very big market for stupidity and expensive products. Now cheap and stupid is a better core audience

      People need to know the difference between a Sewage Pump & Grinder Pump. Both can displace fecal materials. The Grinder Pump 4 times the cost. The blades in time dull. The Grinder Pump is higher maintenance in long haul. Don’t buy until you do your research with Pump Manufacturer since both types have specifications with limitations. Just remember mechanical vs gravity will be failing in time. As a retired Master Plumber with 45 years experience people frustrated in these comments should know if not maybe future owners of these pumps will do their homework and realize gravity is better and overcoming elevation’s pumping is your only option.
