It was on sale at KB Toys in corpus Christi. I chose Mystara because it was it was on close out

To me, DnD was Mystara. As much as I love Ravenloft I could never get to many players to play. We stayed mostly in the new world. In fact when Dave first ran I6 he nested it somewhere in our ongoing campaign. I can't remember where exactly.
I nearly flipped a table over when he bought the Realms boxed set. It seemed like a step down.

Hey I am a huge ravenloft nerd, and I love the lore. But I have always wanted to see this as a video, which is a deep dive side by side of I6 to curse of strahd, and when and where everything evolved like how I believe the stones from the wizard of wines first appearance is in expedition to castle ravenloft. This would be so cool to see the evolution from one to the other and where all the things came from in real world chronological order. I believe the hags are based off of tempest. To me that would be really cool.
Also 2 side notes my favourite ravenloft book is thoughts of darkness. And I think another idea that's cool is the sword and sorcery books exploring the core that just kinda skipped certain domains or they never got expanded like rokushima taiyoo

Thoughts of Darkness was soooo dense! It was like a mini campaign. And it came with its own DM screen and hard copy character sheets that were meant to be photocopied.
It was really a great first module.
I had thought about doing a breakdown of every "Ravenloft/CoS edition. It is really interesting to see how they have progressed. I prob will but I want to put some distance from A Secret Ravenloft Adventure. I talked about RL2 a lot in that one.

@@RavenloftLore I worked ravenloft 2 into my game but the twist was it was actually an experiment being run by Ludmilla on my party in her secret laboratory I'm tsolonka pass, and it made an excellent three session arch, when they got to the machine and the world.of mordeheiman started falling apart back into regular ravenloft. Also she was trying to find Adam because she believed he could make her a more powerful being by becoming a living vampire, since he is a flesh golem(yes I totally stole that idea from van Helsing)

@@licenseplatejacketradio3425 no body ever steals ideas, we just all have our inspirations.
That's a fun idea and a unique way of running it. Did they ever find Adam?

@@RavenloftLore I will kindly disagree, in the words of Picasso "good artists borrow great artists steal," lol, but no a lot of story beats I love come from other ravenloft and I like reverse engineering them into the background of my game, I think there's are so many great domains the go overlooked, I love lyssa von zarovich as a character.
