Very perceptive, Joel. This IS an Angelina original. There's even an Easter egg for fans in this video: in that fictional world where this story takes place, the first scene shows Angelina wearing shoes because she's at a rehearsal, not the performance. It's a nice nod to her fans. There's another original of hers called Our Time that shows off her arranging skills. Give it a listen.

7th Heaven is an Angelina Jordan original - Angelina has been writing songs since she was 10 years 0ld - So far 12 have been released: Oslo, What is Life?, Shield, Million Miles, 7th Heaven, Love Don't Let Me Go, Now I'm The Fool, Fire and Rain, All My Fault, Good in Goodbyes, Diamond, and Our Time. Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs that have yet to be released. Her songs are taken from her Journal writings. When she was 10/11 she rewrote the Lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age appropriate at that time. In addition, Angelina performed an unreleased original song Princess of Ruins at her Las Vegas concerts - if and when that is officially released it will be her 13th original.

Regarding the length of the song, a lot of reactors have commented and even complained that her songs are too short. I agree with you. I think the length is just right. It makes you wanting more. There’s more impact than if was too long and lost its meaning

The studio recording audio and the music video audio are different - you might want to listen to them back-to-back.

Angelina will sing "If I Were a Boy" written by Toby Gad which will be on his new album, Piano Diaries - Volume One. The album, slated for release on May 31st, finds him reimagining some of his signature songs, tapping previous collaborators (Keke Palmer, Victoria Justice) and fresh faces (Camylio) for new, stripped-down versions. Beyonce sang "If I Were a Boy" and Angelina is a perfect choice for a stripped down version of any song.
Toby Gad has written songs for and with stars including Beyoncé (“If I Were a Boy”), Demi Lovato (“Skyscraper”), Madonna (“Living for Love”), Fergie (“Big Girls Don’t Cry”) and John Legend (“All of Me”), with the latter two songs topping the Billboard Hot 100.

She had a teaser about a collab announcement last week but hadn’t seen an actual announcement yet and I’ve been checking regularly

The lyrics in this original song give us Angelina’s thoughts on looking on the bright side when things don’t go right. There’s also her idea of self-empowerment that we see in other originals: Good in Goodbyes, Diamond, etc. I think the lyrics get lost in this music video because our attention is on the contrived storyline.
I love this song, and I know Angelina is the best singer I’ve ever heard. I just don’t think this music video adds any value to her performance.
The “live in studio” version is different audio. The instrumentation is slightly different, there is an actual backup singer and she changes the ending a little bit.
I think the official video we just watched is the audio from the actual recording. Angelina does her own back up singing.

@@pjg58x Exactly, the "live in studio" version is quite different & much better that the Music Video, IMO. We all know Angelina is best when she is singing "live" & with real instruments instead of computer generated instruments.
