  • Today, I'm going to make for you guys, a charging station organizer made of wood that only costs a total of $7.10 for the lumber. Everything else that are needed you probably already have it.
I have bought a USB charger hub because I don't want to deal with all the OEM chargers from all the phones and tablets in our family. The last year or so, I have to deal with all the clutter in my night stand.
Anyways, here are the list of materials that are needed for the USB charging station organizer project.
    Wood:
    1 pc. - 6 inch x 1/4 inch x 2 feet poplar board
    2 pcs. - 2 inch x 1/2 inch x 2 feet poplar wood
(There are other choices like oak or pine if you like)
    1/2 inch brad nails
    Wood glue
    sandpaper
    paint or stain (optional)
    Tools needed:
    - Saw (miter box if you can't saw straight) best if you have a miter saw.
    - hammer
    - drill
Here are some USB chargers that will fit on this organizer:
    RavPower - amzn.to/2kFvNWU
    Anker - amzn.to/2llN8Dl
    Zilu - amzn.to/2lm5q7z
    CivPower - amzn.to/2kFwcZq
    1. First cut 8 inches from the main board. (this is for the main base)
    2. Cut 2 pcs - 8 inches on the 2x1/2 inch board - this is for the sides
    3. Cut 2 pcs. - 1 3/4 inches from the main board for the front and back pieces.
    4. Cut 1 - 4 1/2 inches and 5 - 3 inch pieces from the 2 x1/2 for the stands.
Drill 5 holes on one of the side board making sure the USB coord connector will fit.
Nail and glue the main base and the 2 sides first.
Starting from the back, nail and glue the 4 1/2 inch stand, then the 5 - 3 inchers and using the first one as a guide, the spacing will be 1 inch from stand to stand.
Lastly, nail and glue the front and back parts.
Drill a hole for the USB charger cord on the back panel.
Sand everything and prepare to stain or paint (optional)
