This mod takes Cuphead to its absolute limits. This is quite possibly the hardest version of Cuphead that you may ever play, and, as a speedrunner, it was really fun to see how I stacked up to the difficulty.
My channel generally focuses on a more casual side of speedruns. With these videos I want to show off cool speedruns, explain how they work, and entertain. Hopefully you enjoy the content and maybe even take up speedrunning yourself, because it is truly a lot of fun!

This really does as you said. It really shows that, while Cuphead was hard, it was not "unfair and unfun" hard.
I completely agree, there 100% are some bullshit moments in Cuphead, like being stuck in a corner with attacks flying at you that you legitimately cannot dodge, but those are few and far in between and it’s insane how even in expert mode they manage to make ever fight fun

After you beat it the first run through it's not bad, it is hard the first time though. After a normal run through though you'll find you can easily take down a lot of bosses on expert.
@@JadeiteMcSwag like most "hard" games they aren't actually hard, only out of the common but if you know what happens it's easy, people who say and complain it's hard only don't know how to play, mostly people who skip the tutorials

This mode is basically is the experience of a "non-gamer whos playing cuphead for the very first time" but now experienced gamers can play it!
As someone who isn’t a “gamer” (I play Pokémon and that’s about it) and just bought Cuphead, this has been my experience
Fun fact: you can skip the second phase of the first boss by waiting (not sure if the mod changes that). The only downside is that the 3rd phase is harder.

Another thing I've noticed in the Master Quest mod for Cuphead, is that they've severely reduced how long your invincibility frames last after taking a hit.

That’s actually an unused attack (called cloud bomb) for Cagney carnation (according to the wiki).
But, however, for the cloud bomb in the wiki, it shows a picture of a sign that says “this goes boom”.

Cagney's second phase lasted way too long imo. It looked pretty fun and there's value in it being an endurance test, but it was still at least two minutes of the exact same attack.
To be fair, he didn't do any EX moves, nor did he ever swap to spread. There were def ways to speed it up.

I wonder how fast you'd beat cuphead in the regular mode after you've finished the speedrun in impossible difficulty.
well, the serious answer is not much. Other than the time that it takes for depleting the extra health, i dont expect any new strats to transfer into the other difficulties in a way to shave time. All that is also talking about glitchless runs, or at least runs where you cant skip levels. It is more likely that the new difficulty patched out old glitches than it is that new glitches would speed up the other difficulties.
With all that said, it really depends on what you mean. Speeding up a run on a lower difficulty? not likely in a speedrun setting. Comparing the top times between difficulties on the other hand is bound to have the harder difficulty take longer if for no other reason than tank-y-er bosses.
yeah. i guess in terms of time it won't change that much. I think that my line of thinking was, how easier the game would be in regular difficulty since it was cleared at a much higher difficulty. at the regular difficulty, there would be greater time in between attacks leading to more time to rest, the margin of error would be more forgiving. and as you have pointed out, the bosses are less tanky. He might beat his old record for the regular difficulty. but that's about it. I guess its more of a question of self growth rather than comparing to the top speed runs.
to summarize my thought. how would his regular difficulty run before the attempt in impossible difficulty compare to his regular difficulty run after attempting/finishing the impossible difficulty.

Fun fact: In expert mode of the base game, Cagney has three phases. The first phase, he does nothing but shoot out only blue and pink seeds. That's it. The second phase is the rest of the first phase attacks, but jesus so many seeds
In expert mode, I originally thought Cagney was impossible, but then I switched to roundabout and I managed to S rank it in like 5 or 6 tries, it was surprising how much that weapon helped

flower cloud move was an unused move from the original game i think the modder just reactivated it in the game files
I feel like this mod of cuphead can be compared to fangames for Undertale that make Sans so ridiculously powerful even though it completely goes against the Canon for the game but this just feels like it really is like an official harder difficulty for Cuphead and not something that is super obviously not something that could be in the game.
I love this content because Cuphead is my favourite game, I can't wait until you make a video on the next Isle (Hopefully)!

i know he probably did it to show off how it was different but why don't people just not attack the onion cause it goes away after like 7 seconds of not attacking after it spawns

The key to the fireflies is to use chaser to deal damage since it will deal with the fireflies at the same time. The roundabout is very useful in general as a good source of damage since in Ribby and Croaks it's kind of hard to miss with roundabout
