i watched the whole season (only cause ariana was a coach in it) and wendy was one of my favorites since the beginning, some of the performances she gave were beyond what the show is supposed to be like. at some point i thought it was ridiculous to the other contestants cause in my head she had the win secured. the thing is tho, after the coaches select the top 20, the artists who stay (and eventually win) in the show are decided for votes, so it clearly is not only about -the voice- but the popularity of the contestants.

how wendy did not win still baffles me… ALSO i recommend checking *out “no more tears (enough is enough)” by bella de Napoli and katie rae, the* best battle of the season and my personal favorite performance OVERALL, so many vocal moments I think you’d enjoy, they’re from team ariana.

I did a deep dive on Wendy when I first saw her on the show. She had a record deal exactly when Whitney Houston was an up and coming talent. Wendy said that her label wanted her to be like Whitney and do pop songs, but she wanted to have more variety in her music. She has a couple of songs that are hits in the Philippines, so she has charted, just not in America. But she dropped the label in pursuit of singing other genres of music. Touring with Julio Inglesias and most recently country singers. Wendy decided to come on The Voice so she could finally be in charge of the music she wanted to put out, and how she wanted to use her instrument. I know people are saying “Wendy has industry connections”, yeah but she wants to be able to earn a record deal on her own terms, not through people who know her to sing a certain genre and then force her to sing only that. So yes, in my opinion, Wendy should have won!
I agree and there's more to that too. I think she also went on the show to gain exposure and experience. I think she was trying to figure out what was missing from her career. Maybe she felt she was lacking originality due to the comparisons and she wanted people to see her as herself and not as Whitney so on the show she showed much more originality.

Yeah I was surprised they didn’t go more into her story. Since I’m very much into vocalists to an almost nerdy degree…I actually knew of Wendy before the show. She was ROBBED !
Well, I like her but if she wanted to separate herself so much from Whitney I don't think she would cover her songs so much. I hope now at least she got more exposure.
I’m not mad. Second place is always the winner for me because it’s the highest placement you can be without getting locked into a terrible record deal that has gotten none of the winners a stable career.
True, don't know anyone who got successful after winning the voice 🤔.. Honestly, now that people know who she is, she will get a record deal 100%, maybe the coaches even help her out

Right. I think that is the saddest part is that they are more "famous" while competing on the show.. after the show you never hear from them ever again.

the network actually has the right to pick any winner they want, it's not up to the judges. Even if the public votes for one person the network has the final decision. It's in the paperwork for shows like this that you understand that can pick any winner they want.

@@jimmyb.6102 It really wouldn't matter cause most of them weren't watching the show and older viewers doesn't like Ariana. Facebook really hates Ariana. Most of Ariana's fans were saying they only watched the show for her outfits and that was it.
@@HeroShades yeah exactly. a lot of the viewers vote for the coaches instead of contestants for some reason and ariana literally had someone in the bottom every week and had no one in the finale.
Joshua Vacanti was another incredible contestant this season! I was so shocked when he got eliminated. He had so many mind-blowing covers!!!

In my opinion behind Wendy he was the best singer on the show. There is NO reason he shouldn't be on the top 5😔

what pisses me off is that the guys in GNT individually are pretty mediocre. the girl is phenomenal but she carried them and I think if a group should win The Voice they should all have equally strong voices. also literally everyone else in the top 5 was miles and miles ahead of GNT, especially Wendy and Mia. I do think it would have been a little unfair for Wendy to win as she kind of has already had a career as a touring backup singer with lots of famous people, but she and everyone else in the finale had better vocals than GNT.

@@odeleya1768 She was a backup singer. A lot of backup singers end up staying the background. I can't think of one older singer that has won the voice before.

I had the exact same feelings about Girl Named Tom. I kept saying her brothers are like her backup singers because she's the only one with real talent (but not the most phenomenal).
Idk why everyone is sleeping on Jershika I thought she was amazing and deserved to win it most.

I think where Wendy faltered is sometimes she fails to connect with the audience (in my opinion ofc). She is definitely is one of the best vocalist the show has graced, no doubt. But i think one needs to connect with their audience to do extremely well. Yeah GNT wasnt the best vocally, but they ultimately connected with the crowd.

Thank you very much!!! That’s exactly what I think. Everytime a saw the show GNT trascended the screen, they touch my emotions and made me feel. Cause they were as well feeling the music, and lyrics, and it was noticeable. And they connected with the audience and fans. To me they did deserve to win.

no, Ari was there to increase views, it is rigged, i love GNT but Wendy is the winner and everyone knows it.
the show has always been known for being rigged with rumours that they choose the winner before the show even starts and so much more, so i think they used ariana not having anyone in the finale to debunk that and prove that it isn't rigged and is truly a fan vote, but it still seems like it is..

@@kaamilquidwai5659 do you have any sources about those rumours? cause literally everytime i look at these „SHOCKING truths about the Voice told by ex-contestants and producers“ it‘s literally never anything shocking and everyone just confirms that the show is quite real and genuine (as far as possible in this industry).
ariana had a great team to start the lives with but unfortunately all of them vocally decreased and she maybe made some questionable decisions as well. facebook, whose audience is the most reliable in terms of predicting who will make it through (the Voice viewers are a lot older than we might think and a looot of them are obviously on facebook), has predicted that gnt wins all along. it always seems like no one voted for them from the general reaction on instagram, youtube and twitter but on facebook, their winning post has 26,000 thumbs up, 15,000 hearts and only 420 angry faces. i know it‘s ridiculous i take this as a „source“ but i‘m just saying, there‘s a LOT of people voting and a LOT of them are not complaining on instagram. so it may look like it was impossible for them to win when really everyone who could count 2+2 together knew that they were ahead of the others (voting wise) by miles. even just the itunes ranking gave the complete order of finalists away.
Idk it is all about viewers votes and I guess it is in each coach’s contract that they have to have a duet with their finalists, don’t think they wouldn’t want a duet with Ariana Grande at the finale
Wendy has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard, but it always looked like she was just singing the words and not feeling the words. There was just something missing.
That's what I always thought too. Like she sang really well but didn't seem to really connect. There's a difference between singing and performing and I feel like she didn't really perform.
Agreed… her personality and I think she had a ton of connections already, so folks rooted for the underdog in this case.

I never watched the Voice, but I was pins and needles when Wendy sang. It’s insane how a voice can have that effect.

i agree that this wasn't GNTs best performance but PLEASE react to "Wichita Lineman". It was the most magical performance this entire season and it showed all the reasons why GNT won. I promise you won't regret it.

their best performance was Wichita Lineman (knockouts) now thats something you have to listen to. "River" and "Dust in the wind" were also great standouts of their journey

I wouldn't say this was Girl Named Tom's best performance of the season. You should check out their version of Dust in the Wind, as well as River. That being said, Wendy Moten is incredible and I know that she will get a record deal whether she won or not.
The winners performances should be so good that even their worst almost tops the others best.

Wendy had the best voice, but that’s about it in terms of artistry. I think they also look at the connection with the crowd & more relevant talent, and I think that’s where she fell behind.
Absolutely 100% agreed! She was the power-housest voice no doubt but I never felt connected or felt that she felt connected to the songs, like Kelly once used to be as she says so herself, that she worked on the 'emotions' part of her singing.

I still feel like Hailey mia should have won. Just my opinion. GNT was second for me. but Hailey was young and had a lot to bring to the table. She sounded so mature and she can only go up from here.

Okay yes my husband and I had this whole convo…it’s so unfair that they let duos and trios compete. Each one of the memebers in Girl Named Tom don’t stand a CHANCE individually up against half of the final 10. Are they insanely marketable? Sure. Are they the best “VOICE” not by a long shot.
Tbh even I think that participation trios nd duos is very unfair but wendy has worked with Grammy nominated artists and has an experience much greater than all the contestants. IMO both of them had an unfair advantage
I think it’s meant to reflect on the music industry overall. When you are releasing your music, you do have to keep in mind you are competing against single artists, duos, and groups in the charts.
Also, most of the times, the voting here comes from whose coach has the most active fanbase while watching the series. It’s a plus if other people like the singers outside from their coach preferences. I don’t really take the voice that much seriously since it’s mostly about the coaches if you think about the success of the show hence why a very few artist gets to make a living after.

It's totally fair because they have their own struggles with having to get those melodies perfect. I also don't feel it's about being vocally perfect. You need to be able to take your listeners on a journey with your music. And I think the GNT nails that. I mean a lot of people on the voice this year did that and this whole season was so tough to judge I'm sure. for me tho it's about the journey and not about perfection. Trios are not judged individually because they are not supposed to be. They are a group. They get judged as a whole. Being good on your own it great and all too... But those damn harmonies 💯 give me chills all over my body.
Groups generally don't do well on this show. Watch the other seasons back, or just Wikipedia it.

Yes! Her vocal technique was insane throughout the whole season, she was never pitchy and very controlled, and as Kelly always mentioned😂 AT 13/14 YEARS OLD

@@donovanhamilton910 i hear you, and no doubt wendy was and still is friggin awesome. unfortunately thats not how things work on the voice, america votes for a winner. it comes down to preferences and taste, not everyone is an R&B fan, we can say wendy should've won all day but she didnt, more americans voted for gnt so personal opinions dont count here. being a country music fan from nashville, you should know how huge and diverse that fan base is. their songs were hitting #1 on itune charts, that says alot, its about musical taste and preferences. easy as that
Wendy didn't have the best personality compared to the others in the finals. Since America votes the final 13 or however much, personality and likeability plays a huge role on whether or not someone wins. The trio was highly consistent throughout the entire show and their harmonies were beautiful.
She literally had no personality in the slightest bit. Compared to Paris, he was fucking dynamic on stage and sang great

Right, Wendy sounds 💯 but I feel nothing from her performances. When Jershika sang you could feel something, especially when she sang the Christian songs and even made Kelly cry on tv.
Yes, I absolutely loved Wendy's vocals and she is incredible. The only thing that I think made people not prefer her is that since she has *a lot* of experience and has *really* been through the industry, she sometimes felt a little "smug" on stage. And I didn't see a lot of chemistry with the other contestants.

Like more focused on shining individually. I don't know just stuff I felt.🧍🏽♀️ As I said, two powerhouses absolutely murdering that song.
In conclusion, it's not rigged. People are just salty that their fave didn't win.

The Chain wasn’t GnT’s best performance. You gotta listen to Wichita Lineman. I think their mastery is how they build harmonies and perfectly blend their voices together by singing the same vowel sounds, putting the same level of intensity into each note, etc.

I agree that they sound great together. I guess what made me not like them as much is cuz I think the sister is the best of them and I’d rather just hear her. The brothers aren’t bad, but I don’t think either of them alone could stand up to any of the other finalists.

Tbh that was one of GNT worst performances, they do better with slower paced, mellow songs. Their audition was amazing and their spotify is full of gems, both originals and covers.

it makes me sad that people think that a girl named tom didn’t do well when they were on top almost all season and then when they won and everyone was upset that they won as a “trio” but they let trios in the competition for a reason😭
i think that it’s just that (in my opinion) they did well but not better than the other finalists. i was not expecting them to win
@@morganbishop7146 they had better performances than their finale ones, i agree, though i believe the choices is made by viewers way before the finale. if you don‘t completely screw up, people who brought them into the semifinale will also bring them into the finale or even further. i personally thought hailey‘s deja vu was not a finale performance either, yet she placed 4th over jershika. i‘m not sure if that many people base their votes on the actual last performance, i doubt it actually.
I didn't think they would win at all. They were my least favorite in the finale. It will be interesting to see if they end up doing well. I can't think of a single Voice winners who can became a household name.
@@ashleydowney1222 a big part of that is the label they get signed to that doesn‘t support artists that won‘t do well anyways. if a middle-aged country artists wins, the chances of him actually having a career are slim cause there‘s already thousands of those out there. i think gnt has actually a better chance to actually get supported by the label because there‘s a gap in the market for a harmonizing sibling trio, which there definitely is not for a male country artist or a young good-looking teenage boy. since their music also apparently was very liked (itunes), that may increase the chances of them actually getting the support they need to have a career. after all, all the label wants is someone who can bring in the money the label had spent on them and gnt might be able to do that.

It's called the "Voice" for a reason, right? It should be all about the "Voice!" Although, the trio could sing, they can't SANG, like Wendy could. Plus, the trio's singing ability was bland and they even broke at times. Voice is RIGGED.
No. It should be about the voice AND the appeal to your audience if you aren't a popular contestant on the show and if you don't have a wider fanbase then there's no point in trying to make a career from the show.
@@kauze_ Agreed. A lot of people naively think just because the show is called "The Voice", hence people would vote solely on the voice. If that's the case, then marketabiity would not be a factor.
@@shawnleong3605 More and more people care for what they see externally, which is social conditioning at it's best. If people focused on their voices alone (which is why they don't see the contestants and they have their chairs turned) this show wouldn't have external biases, like it should be.

If you saw any of the judges reactions to any of her performances, they were speechless most the time, as much as I love GNT wendy should've won she's probably one of the greatest vocalists I've ever heard. Also Hailey Mia definitely worth checking out she's 14 and amazing she came 4th
Wendy is obviously a great vocalist but what y'all are failing to acknowledge is GNT was charting Top 5 on ITunes every single week where as other contestants, including Wendy, were struggling to chart in the top 10 on ITunes. So clearly they were resonating with the audience. I was rooting for Hailey Mia above anyone else but its unfair for people to say GNT didn't deserve their win.
I loved both through the season. I saw a lot of people mention that they felt Wendy failed to connect with some of her songs. For some people you can have a great voice but you also need to be able to connect. I think that is where GNT won. They had great vocals (I believe Wendy is stronger) and they also were able to connect with their song choices.
I think there's a differense in being a really good technical singer like Wendy and being a really good artist. I think Hailey Mia will be the artist that will have the best career of this years The Voice. She was the one that clearly improved the most during the season, and I think she "connected" better to her songs than the other in the show, especially when it came to the live part of the season. When I heard the songs from the finale I even thought she would win - her second song I thought would make it clear to all that she was the winner.
(Katie Rae and Bella was my favorites from the beginning - they had a really great battle, but I don't understand what happend with them after that.)
The weird thing is Wendy Moten is a well established singer in the UK, she was charting #5 on the billboard top 100, in like 1993. she had a huge amount of success very early on, by the time this came out, she has released like 5 albums. I'm not sure why she was on the voice. She obviously didn't need much in the way of coaching. Was this some sort of special season with well established people? Cause Moten didn't need their help from what it looks like to me, and I highly doubt she will have any issues now after those performances from the voice in finding success.

I know it's called "the voice" but I think they should focus more on the emotional impact of the songs instead of focusing on how high/loud someone can sing or how many adlibs they can do
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
I’ve had many favorites on The Voice, most of whom did not win or even come close. That does NOT mean the show is rigged. All it means is that more viewers, for one reason or another, voted for artists that I did not. In this particular case, yes, Wendy could sing circles around Girl Named Tom, I won’t argue that, BUT Girl Named Tom is more captivating; that’s why I, and others, voted for them over Wendy. And, unless NBC is collaborating with iTunes, ignoring the fact that GNT’s songs charted so highly, especially when no bonus was at stake, says a lot and it’s folly to ignore that simply because you* like another artist more.
On a related note, I’ve never understood the “duos/trios have inherent advantages” argument. Just look up how many of them get eliminated before live shows (specifically at Andi & Alex) before talking about the advantages they supposedly have. I’m not a fan of the “people with industry experience shouldn’t be allowed” argument either but that will be a bit off topic.
A blog I read put it perfectly: Wendy is technically perfect but it’s like she’s detached from the songs she’s singing. I’ll go a step further and say that you could hook up an iPod on the stage and set it to play the studio recording and there would be the same amount of emotion. Again, Wendy is very good, I just don’t need to listen to her multiple times; there’s just more feeling in a GNT performance and that keeps me wanting more of them.
I’m not always happy with the results either but attempting to invalidate that result just because you* don’t like it is not, and never will be, ok. I’ve been baffled by some artists that America keeps around over some others. I constantly plead with America to “make the right choice” (here meaning “MY choice”) and there’s even one season that I would have once gone so far as to cry foul but I’ve long since made my peace with that outcome. You* aren’t the only person that watches this show (and others like it) and sometimes you* will be in the minority. Maybe the title of this show is a bit of a misnomer. None of these things make it rigged, that’s just how voting works.

Whoever anyone likes aside, the artists that had the most Top 10 iTunes hits was a Girl Named Tom and the artist with the second most was Wendy Moten. Results, therefore, were pretty spot on.
That long low to high note from Wendy gave me full body cold chills.
A couple things have to be factored in. Both these artists did 2 songs in the finale. This video shows the strongest of the two songs that Wendy did, and the weaker of the two songs that Girl Named Tom did. And, maybe more importantly, Girl Named Tom didn't really have anyone to compete against, whereas Wendy was essentially competing against 3 other powerhouse singers. Anyone who likes folky, acoustic pop stuff would vote for Girl Named Tom, but those who like larger than life vocals would be divided among 4 different singers.

Wendy lost cause she never really connected with the people, it's not just about vocals. If the people don't like her then there is no point in her winning🤷🏽♀️
The Voice is JUST about vocals, hence the name of the show. I feel like Wendy should’ve connected more with the audience too but at the end of the day, the Voice is about YOUR voice. People shouldn’t be winning because of their personal lives, age, social status, etc. We all know who should’ve won the competition. Wendy put her ALL in this performance.
Just my opinion: I think connecting is part of singing. Her singing is so technical that she loses connection to the listeners. Her technique and high notes were amazing, but the emotions of the song didn’t reach me. That’s still about the VOICE since their voices are still their main instruments in bringing emotions to the listeners. Why do we listen to our favorite songs most of the time? Do we listen to feel amazed, or do we listen because the songs make us feel certain emotions?
Anyway, at the end of the day, we have different preferences 🙂 Any of the top 5 (even top7) would be deserving of winning this season, it’s just that more people preferred GnT. All contestants worked hard. Their song choices or arrangements may not be the best, but all of them put their all in their performances.

The coaches talked her up too much - the coaches often say certain people are the guaranteed winner, and then the public vote skews the competition.
The Voice is not just about vocal, not just super high voice, super powerful voice will win. It seek of the artistry, the potential, the emotional connection. So so much winner of The Voice is not have a high/powerful voice, and I love love them, lile Chloe Kohanski or Mealyn Jarmon.

I watched the whole season and LOVED Wendy, but I also voted for Girl Named Tom over her. If it was just down to vocal technicality, she was the winner hands-down, but GNT had the emotion and the artistry. I wouldn't listen to Wendy's music outside of the show, but I'm definitely going to pay attention to what GNT does next.

I didn't like their singing style at all. I wouldn't listen to them if they came on the radio. I liked Wendy's music and would listen to it. Voice winners normally bomb after the show and don't have many other hits.
@@ashleydowney1222 that‘s not the point of the show, they don‘t claim to make superstars. the goal is to do singing for a living afterwards and since there‘s a huuuge gap between basement singer and grammy award winning artist, most winners do achieve that. either they become superstar songwriters or just go on tour in small venues, record songs with superstars or even write songs for the coaches‘ albums. meaning they make money off music but are not international superstars. i think the ones that want to achieve the latter won‘t even go on the Voice.
Wendy has the most incredible voice! I loved watching and listening to her every week. She truely has an amazing gift.
O.K. I think it's the public who vote. Yea... Wendy has some serious pipes! Personally, I LOVED her take on Arethas 'Ain't No Way". But... it got a little screechy song after song. I think the backstory is a factor. Wendy has had a professional career singing. She just wants to be out front now. GNT, however, are trying to start a career, and the story of their name is great! Their harmonies... I could listen all day. Wendy, while great, I could not. 🤷♀️

The Girl in Girl Named Tom just has some insane star quality that you either have or you don't, plus she's cute and gorgeous. I do think her voice if she competed solo would also have brought her really far in the competition as well so yea...ot answer your question it is a popularity contest. The voice is more of a star search than a voice search bc if it were all about the best voice alone Wendy wins.
GNT won when they sang Wichita Lineman. People forget that the voice is also a popularity contest. Wendy was great, but GNT was a humble family trio with amazing harmonies. Their story also sells, and it's what made people vote for them. Btw, the whole season was amazing.

Personal opinions on S21:
I think GNT deserved the win, just because singers like Wendy who can sing insane clear high notes doesn't mean that they will always win. In the end, people are always going to vote for the singers whose performance they connect to the most, for me I don't feel any emotional connection to Wendy when she sings. (Maybe it's a personal preference, don't bash me) I'd be honest, I didn't even like GNT at first but that Wichita Lineman performance won me over. To quote what Blake said, "the way they layered the harmonies made it seem like it was one seamless vocal event", that is the performance that tugged at my heartstrings. (I also noticed that he gave a "well played" smile during that performance as if he already predicted that GNT will win). Some people say that three voices against one is unfair, I would agree to disagree. You should see GNT's Instagram post where they showed a short clip about their rehearsals, they had to match the vowels and vibrato length and much more, if one person screws up, then the performance would be ruined. Be it a group or an individual, it depends how you use that to your advantage I guess. And GNT is so likeable, it's sad to see the hate they're getting after the win.
Also didn't like how Ariana gave Vaughn such a shitty song choice and picked a generic white girl with a mediocre tone over an obviously more talented Asian who sings with so much passion.
And my last complaint is that I'm freaking obsessed with Samuel Harness. John should've saved him over Shadale. Quite devastated that we didn't get to hear more of him. Dude is just so cool and has so much character.

Yes, it is rigged. This came out two or three years ago when a contestant contract was released on the internet. The show tried to deny it, but it has been confirmed by prior contestants and the show has not sued anyone for slander or libel. That in itself tells you what you need to know.

I've never watched this show, but based on those two performances I agree with you completely. Out of these two, Wendy should've won by a land slide. Also, I loved you saying people approaching 30 are not to old for singing lessons. I'm 28 and have definitely felt that way at times lol

Nah you have to watch it. Girl named Tom come a long way that why they won. Wendy has so much experience bc she used to sing back up for popular artists. She always knew what she was doing.

A lot of the songs later in the season were more so challenges they chose for the voice. But their better performances fit more into their sound. I recommend watching their first three performances, which are pretty much flawless.

Wendy was and still is one of my favorites, she’s so amazing and has a great voice. I was hoping that she will win the season.. but to be honest GNT also were amazing and I’m not mad that they won. Both deserved
Wendy is fantastic BUT… she already has music industry connections… when the rest do not. i stopped watching because of the cassidy pope issue. so i feel like if people are more people involved vs. someone with connection is a problem. she deserves a record deal but the point of the voice is to create connections you didn’t have.

It all comes down to who gets more votes. The best vocalist won't necessarily win if the viewers connect more with another artist.

As someone who watched every single episode (and replayed many performances over and over) but Girl Named Tom is much more relevant. They charted in the top 10 4 separate times. Wendys voice is insane but the genre she is in feels more like a cover act than someone who will make a name for herself as a solo artist. Thats why they won.

More audience members voted for GNT which is why they won. Their songs consistently charted. For everyone who is saying it was rigged, did you consistently vote for Wendy? Folks always quick to call something rigged. Then folks will say it isn’t fair because they are a group yet a group has never made it this far before so I don’t think it’s an advantage. At the end of the day it’s a popularity contest just like any show that relies on audience votes.
Just to be clear the stream factor was not applicable this season, so clearly GNT won coz they got more votes than Wendy and other finalists. So I guess that was a fair decision that they won. Stop arguing on that people. It was America's decision to make them winner so they won and yeah THEY DESERVES IT TOO AND EQUALLY WENDY AS WELL. but only one can be the winner

Bella and Katie "no more tears" is one of the best, if not the best, performance in this season of the Voice. U have to watch it
Wendy was a professional brought in to up the ante, it was all worked out to go with Blake and make it through the finals. It was not in her contract to win, She got the exposure she wanted to restart her career, The voice got he singing.

Most singers this season were so bad. Shaky vocals, sloppy runs, bad pitch sensibility…the list goes on!!
Honestly there was soooo much amazing talent this year that, it was hard seeing people get eliminated.
I personally think they deserved the win! Their performances were so versatile and distinct to the rest. Of course there were many special talents but they definitely brought something different, cool and fun to hear. Besides their vocals were great too.
Tho Wendy declined in the lives , her live playoffs was not at its best and she even was flat In the performance of I will always love you , her top 13 ,top11, and top 10 performances were all underwhelming. Her only 2 amazing live performances IMO are her finale performance and her semis performance but to a lesser extent. Wendy showed up too late (if that makes sense) while GNT were already charting In the top 10 on iTunes from the top 13 . So Wendy left her live performance mark too late in competition in comparison to GNT aka Girl named Tom .

GNT'S audition and the Witchita lineman was their absolute best and some of the better trio singing I have ever heard. The rest of their stuff on the voice was shaky at best and really proved Blake's original prediction that the other judges would ruin GNT'S sound correct. You should give them a fairer shake. If you would have used those two examples I gave, you would have noticed the more apple's and oranges dilemma America was facing. Regardless, those two performances were the first time in a long time I was really soaking up harmony so I'm glad they won. They are knowledgeable and talented artists.

Wendy is a backup singer and doesn't command the audience. Duos and trios have always competed on The Voice. I knew from the blinds that GNT would win. They are real, humble, relatable and are very gifted musically all the way around. While she has a great voice, Wendy isn't relatable. The latter rounds of The Voice are chosen by the audience. GNT won hands down.
Yes this is a vocal competition but at the end of the day their is something called an opinion, in s13 Chloe won yet she was FAR from the best in the finale . Brooke destroyed her vocally yet Chloe won. Chloe was still deserving, it all comes down to preference at the end of the day and if it was really rigged may someone explain how girl named Tom managed to have 4 of their studio recordings of their voice performances in the top 10 on iTunes one of which was number 1 two weeks in a row beating out Adele and other big artists , their win should not have come as a surprise.
Lol I completely disagree with you on the brooke vs chloe thing. They’re equally good vocalists for different reasons. Chloe has better control and pitch, while Brooke has a stronger and less niche voice so she can do a lot of different songs without having to change them around too much.

Its unfair that several articles are saying Wendy was robbed, it discredits GNT journey throughout the show. The moment they sang on blinds, battles, their main sell points is their harmony, thats how theyve gotten into the show and as the show progrsses Kelly guided them to showcase their voice individual and mix it with their tight harmonies and that was great feat already, so much growth. Im notorious with groups joining the voice but GNT is literally the best trio/group that came on the show, they showed versatility, artistry, emotion, and thats a winning material.
The voice is not just about who has the widest vocal range, its also about artistry, emotion, stage presence and a lot more, Id say GNT checks more boxes in these than wendy.
Also, there is no doubt Wendy has the highest vocal range out of all the artists in the season but thats it, Jershika hasnt had the perfect voice but damn every time she performs, she moves the audience thats why she won instant save twice. GNT showed a lot of connection with the people and Wendy felt short on that, shes stagnant at stage and shows little emotion and looks like she wasnt feeling the song. Also, I quoted her own coach blake said on semis befote she sang, "youve played it safe until now". Imagine performing 3 dolly parton songs, it very much show, she only sings whats shes comfortable with.
Give GNT the credit they most definitely deserved.

Also people who complain about the popularity contest thing clearly are too lazy to read the rules. The voice selects it’s winner based on cumulative votes. GNT won the show by being the most consistent artist throughout the season. I don’t know why most people still don’t know this.

You should watch the river or dust in the wind performance by girl named Tom! Thing is you watched their “fun” song of the finale. And then that one was the balad song from Wendy, she also did a “fun” song besides that one. That’s the whole thing about the finale. But yeah, to actually judge girl named Tom’s vocals individually you definitely should watch river. And it was only them and one of them playing the piano, that’s it. Loved that performance, their voices and vocals. Hauntingly beautiful
tbh when it comes to singing or talent shows like this its always a "popularity" contest, whether you like it or not. if the contestant does not appeal to the audience then the audience wont talk or vote them but if theres this "cool" "fun" contest/s even tho they barely got any talent ( not saying the group doesnt have a talent, just making an indirect shoutout the other winners of some other shows) theyd still win cause that contestant got an appeal. Plus for this show to keep on going to need to market their show and in order to do that they need to have someone who has a "star quality" to themselves and make them even more appealing through their journey on the voice. so to conclude i do believe its more of the appeal then voice
