It was my first lantern rite as well
I had tears in my eyes when Qiqi remembers its Lantern Rite even though she doesn't remember most things.
She may have died hundreds of years ago, but I think it’s easy to forget that qiqi is still deep down, just a child. One who, depending on how you look at it, either tragically, or mercifully does not remember hardly anything of her prior life, or subsequent death. For the lantern rite to spark such a memory must mean that when she was alive, it left a great impression on her. She must have loved it when she was a child to still remember it now.
I mean it's right in front of her eyes
If Qiqi sees something often enough she will remember it, such as: hiding spots from Hu Tao/who she is, the traveler, people constantly mentioning latern rite and setting up fireworks around her
Qiqi says she can remember things if she sees them often enough but not everything
(She also remembered keqings name at the wangshu inn moment)

I said this in chat during the livestream, but this is a perfect “Welcome to Teyvat” experience. My first Lantern Rite was magical and was the main reason I have been so hooked on the game. Windblume is next, and I hope it doesn’t disappoint. Last years certainly didn’t. It’s things like this that make Teyvat it’s own world and I can’t wait to experience Inazuma’s first festival.
I think lantern rite will be the only annual one since it represents Lunar New Year. The other festivals might not get a rerun every year.
Latern rite was perfectly in time for me right when i reached Liyue for first time i started with Latern rite back then i thought it was part of story, it was beautiful and got me more hooked
Agreed! It just so happens that one of my friends was planning on trying Genshin now and I told them that it's the perfect time to start and to get ready to be amazed when they reach Liyue ^^

I didn't even realized at first that QiQi remembered what Lantern Rite is! And this event completely is so amazing and heartwarming...
Maaaan I felt so emotional during the cutscene. Especially with Hu Tao and Zhongli's scene! He probably reminds her of her late grandpa, so that little interaction made me so happy :') Oh, and Azhdaha! They even left a drink for him aaaaaaaaaaaaaa

People can call this event boring as much as they want, but this is one of the best events I've experienced in genshin. It was so wholesome. Idc if it's boring, it made me feel all warm inside
The event wasn't boring but to me, the plot of this years lantern rite was really boring and not that exciting in general, we were just following keqing around the whole time.
Yeah... The challenges in this event were really fun. Yeah the quest was a bit boring, but it was meant to be a relaxing time. Very solid event.
@@yumi_cloud Yea true, the main quest felt uninspired with yet another "hardworking girl works too hard". Leagues below what we saw in Moonchase. And the writers have a bad habit of wanting to shoehorn every single Liyue character into the story, which leads to forced and unmeaningful dialogue.

The plot is just a way of making sure all characters are in it
@@joshbrosh6626 I disagree, a plot isn’t just to have characters in it, if the plot is boring then the event won’t be interesting and the festival won’t be as enjoyable. The cutscene was great and the other parts of the event were enjoyable but the plot of this years lantern rite was boring.
This patch DOES have the best cutscenes. From the battle between Liyue and Beisht, The Divine Damsel of Devastation, and now the Lantern Rite ending.
Damn I love this game so much.
The fact that this is my 2nd lantern rite made me damn emotional throughout the cutscene. It made me rralize the journeys and trials that we've encountered and so many things that we are yet to expect. Seeing the characters from before and now, their character development has improved a lot especially keqing and xiao. MiHoYo really did it again with this story quest. I loved it. Happy Lantern Rite! 🎆🎇
best part of that cutscene for me was seeing Xiao smile for more than 0.1 seconds xD
Mihoyo is really improved this year’s Lantern rite. Players feedback about others playable characters last time is really paid off. Though I prefer Moonchase event a little more (maybe because of the lore).
I had such a soft spot for Shenhe
This is her first lantern rite and ganyu is comforting her but silently
Yet its heart whelming
Xiao is quite experienced as he is pretty old
It won't matter to him being alone
He knows his place
The best part about lantern rite was the best waifu Keqing finally getting featured.. & that cutscene! Didn't think it could top last year's!
Mihoyo never fails to surprise
I actually skipped all of keqing's dialogue because this years lantern rite had a pretty boring storyline, only the cutscene was good

The plot last year was much better, but last year didn't have these cool interactions within characters.
@@reothomas7624 Keqing is already strong if you build her right... Not nearly as strong as the meta, yes.. But not weak either.. you can easily clear abyss or any other content with her, making her sufficiently powerful.. Those who love her, love her for playstyle, her personality, and her cuteness..

Lantern rite was awesome, i just love their cutescens and the quality of cutescene this time also improved, involvement of every liyue character in cutescene was so wholesome. The fact that we can talk to characters in open world and different dialogues for Zhongli each day makes it more amazing...😌

I've been thinking about that "so many characters are overworked" -thing that keeps happening, and my personal theory is that people who are passionate and/or special enough to be noticed by the gods, to the point where they receive a vision, have a higher risk than most others of being the kind of people who overwork themselves. Notable exceptions to this rule would be Lisa, Sayu and "no overtime, ever" Rosaria, of course, but as a counterpoint I think we would be hard-pressed to find anyone more passionate about taking breaks than Lisa...
When he said “they all need a spa day” I immediately thought of the Klee’s Adventure Quest

I missed the previous Lantern Rite, because of my break and I absolutely loved this one! The cutscene was amazing, made me tear up heh. Definetly one of my favorite events so far!
This was my second lantern rite & I gotta say genshin really made a good decision to make in-game events happen annually irl. It really felt like I was celebrating an actual festival like I would irl.

This is my first lantern rite festival also. I got too emotional, I don't know. I was smiling while crying during the cutscenes. It was too wholesome to see all the liyue characters celebrating together. Happy lantern rite, Bran!

Nice. I hope you enjoyed it. The hangouts are nice to do when you don't have anything else and they really let you understand the characters. I highly recommend doing it especially the Bennett and Noelle ones!
I've been waiting for you to make a video about this and finally you did! Love seeing your reactions lol. Also love watching your vids. This was also my first lantern rite and it is so good. The music and the cutscene, seeing everyone together is so beautiful. For some reason, I see this as a date with keqing and the traveler since I also chose aether. They look so sweet. Also, the part where Hu tao and zhongli are together is so cute, the fact that zhongli is hu tao's consultant but they look like father and daughter or grandpa and granddaughter.
i knew, the chat knew, we all knew that you would love the lantern rite. mihoyo out did themselves with this one so many characters you love to see it and more importantly loved to be apart of it, happy lantern rite and i hope we can celebrate it again next year

This lantern rite was so nice, im rly glad they added a lot more interactions with characters in this one compared to the first one. but it also made me wonder if newer players would feel lost or not considering that this event builds on the past lantern rite event AND the moonchase one. but it's cool to see that ppl who are experiencing lantern rite for the first time with this event gets to fully enjoy it as well, just with a diff pov and experience and reaction to it compared to older players

I missed the 2020 one becouse of other games, but damn! what a ride it was!
I love how they made it into Keqing's own story quest while also featuring all the other Liyue characters and i especially loved how Ningguang was flirting with Beidou wich fits in with them being rivals in a way.
And since we already know whats coming in the next 2 or so patches, i can't wait to see how they do Windblume this year, or will we finally get to see ludi harpastum ingame?
One thing ive noticed ever since i discovered Bran, and i find it really cute, is how he waves to the characters when they meet up

This was my first Lantern Festival as well! It was soo good, and it's so nice to see so many characters together😭😭😭
This was my first Lantern Rite too and it was awesome. Also my girl Keqing was the star in all this so it was a win win for me. Loved the final cinematic and how all characters were celebrating together, those little bits about Shenhe and Ganyu, Beidou and Ninnguang, Hu Tao with Zhongli and all the rest were awesome, and as usually miHoyo knows how to make a grown up man to cry.

Aaah right, you started Genshin right during the Labyrinth Warriors event so you couldn't join back then, that's unfortunate man. Xinyan had a major role in that event and you could get her for free from that event. Her character personality gets the highlight there and she was shown to be really kind and positive. She became part of my abyss team after that lol (also because I got her c6 after that event).

You should see the way Xiao appeared on the Moonchase festival, it gave me butterflies dude😳 That event has some nice lore, I don't know if you watched it. The Lantern Rite was nice but I wish it wasn't this much about Keqing, it felt like the quest every 5☆ character gets and the whole overworked waifu trope is starting to get boring in Genshin but I still enjoyed it a lot, the fireworks and shadow lantern parts were very entertaining😌 I heard you were gonna do the Gorou quest after the 2.5 stream, I had to leave bc I was out of time so I'm looking forward to watching it here🌟

Because of this Lantern Rite Event, the word "compensation" made me _sus issues_ for some reason.
Also _"two old fossils"_ and _"ordinary person"_ are kinda hilarious too.
And putting both Guoba and Qiqi in the event makes it even cuter especially in the last cutscene, it became a perfection for me. The whole Lantern Rite Event is just so wholesome!

it was probably turning a blind eye to beidou's less then legit operations but it definitely baited people

Also if I may add Ayato also works really hard, he rarely shows his face in public and working himself to the bone. Especially dealing with arrogant officials on a daily basis. Its not work for him, but rather a line of duty for him.

fun fact the 2 fatui seen in the cutscene have been seen from the first lantern rite as well as moon chase they are probably the most liked npc couple so far hopefully mihoyo never forgets about them
Playing this after doing all the other main quests really felt like the perfect conclusion to my time in Liyue.
Genshin has always been a game about the characters, this event is just a perfect example of it
I love the first lantern rite fest. But this one is just very special to me as a Keqing main

Tbh I loved it to see everyone in the event. It was so nice, I would really like to see more of the playable characters in the different locations. Like, outside of events too :D
Honestly I’m sad, this was supposed to be my first lantern rite and my phone doesn’t run Genshin properly anymore. I’m glad I can watch your gameplay experience until the switch version of Genshin releases or if I’m gifted a new computer. Thanks for your content as always :’)
