pantomime is still the best kpop song released this year, and I'm not confident anything will top it. WJSN always releases great b-sides but they rlly outdid themselves with this one.

This just shows how you can get the real beauty and color of any groups or artists from their b-sides because it represents their personality and they have more freedom compared to the title track.

One thing that I love really much about this song is that there are so many major changes and jumps happening ( like how the musicians pointed to in this video ) but the transitions are SO fvcking smooth like HOW did the producer do this ???!@%#^ I'm still waiting for a song that takes me through the amount of shock, excitement and Adrenaline I went through when I listened to this for the first time( I still get excited and amazed about it even after listening to it for the nth time lmao ) but I bet it will happen any time soon ... I whish Kim Jin Hwan produces a title track or more songs for WJSN in future!

WJSN is my favorite group so it makes me happy to see so much appreciation of them on this channel through the years. Their B-sides are so solid. Butterfly was a sweet and perfect pop song for fun, but Pantomime is just like being thrown into another world it’s SO GOOD.

this has been my fave wjsn song since it came out it’s so goof
something i love abt this song is how they use harsher mouth sounds like “t” and “k” as percussion in the (first) chorus (or maybe it’s a post-chorus hook thing?). it’d feel more natural to go for a softer k sound with “like pantomime” but they go “li-K-e pantomime” using the K to hit the second beat. they do the same with the korean word that ends in a t-sound at the start of the part, where they delay it a little so it comes in at the same time the beat comes in. its GREAT

A little but important correction aside: WJSN isn't a 10 member girl group but a 13 member girl group with the three Chinese members being on hiatus/another schedule.

@@treelo11 Well, it's still not official but they've all very recently removed the "宇宙少女" (Cosmic Girls) from their bio on Weibo... so that might actually be the end for OT13.
It's good to have so much hope on that, but personally i think they ain't coming back😔

This song is one of my first picks to encapsulate my very own "dreamcrush" aesthetic, alongside the Sewerslvt remix of Hi High by LOONA. Allow me to explain:
I've coined the word before designing the aesthetic. It means a crush on someone you know you can't attain, like a fictional character or a celebrity. I derived it from my experiences with maladaptive daydreaming, hence the name.
As for the aesthetic, it's romantic and dreamy: a fusion of lovecore and ethereal aesthetics for those who are in the know. But there's also a looming sense of "it'll never be real" and thus some wistfulness, surreal elements, and most importantly, glitches. As I've said, it all ties into maladaptive daydreaming.
Pantomime is everything this aesthetic encapsulates: romantic, dreamy, wistful, surreal, glitchy. I can't express it as well as you do, but you get the idea. Meanwhile the Hi High remix is less glitchy and more ethereal and melancholic, but it still gets the job done. They represent two different parts of this aesthetic in their own ways.
