Infinit G35 possible starting issues?

  • Couldn't start my car, just kept cranking over and over, then I noticed that specific ground wire was free and loose. After I pinched it under the bracket, car fired right up. So if your having an issue starting your infinit or 350, and your not getting any codes, check this wire. Make sure it is grounded securely.

    I know this is an old video but I just wanted to say THANK YOU. My car literally ran fine, then the next day it would crank but wouldn’t start. No check engine lights so I wasn’t going to change any sensors. I watched this video and went back to check that wire, the bolt was lose (hand tight) and I was thinking it couldn’t be that simple. I tightened the bolt all the way down and the car fired right up. I was pissed and happy at the same time 😂

    • @LoneReble06
      @LoneReble06  Před rokem

      Just from the brief description it sounds like your fuel pump has gone out. It's a common problem between the g,z and v platforms as they use the same parts between them all. I suggest you start there with a new pump and filter kit, rockauto is a good source for parts, but if you can also look up how to check for fuel pressure as well that is a clear way to determine if it is a fuel pump issue before buying a new pump. Hopefully this starts you down a good path

    Whats that ground wire connected to ? The whole wire harness ?

    • @LoneReble06
      @LoneReble06  Před rokem

      To be honest I'm not sure I do know that if this ground is not attached it either takes out the ignition and or the fuel injectors. Or both. Causing a crank but no start, even hooked up to my computer, my comp still read the ecu but it couldn't tell me if the ignition or fuel was working at the time.

    Sooo uhh lately ive been having issues where if i dont drive my G for more then 1 day sometimes on cold morning it cranks for like 5 seconds then barely catches on. I get a loud squel for a quick 2 seconds then it goes away. That’s expected bc i changed both belts w/o torque wrench so im sure theyre loose. But i went ahead and checked the ground wire and i have like 6 🤣. Is that normal ?

    • @LoneReble06
      @LoneReble06  Před 3 lety

      Yea sometimes the previous owners will add a grounding kit to the battery system to help with the electric system but this ground coming from the harness is a direct tie into your ecu and it will not start. This is important. But it never hurts to have more grounds. Sorry for the late reply

    • @LoneReble06
      @LoneReble06  Před 4 lety +2

      It was just out of the blue that I noticed that it wasnt connected anymore. It was kind of one of those checks we all do, where we shake everything grab everything making sure everything was tight and by chance my finger just runs across it. So I stripped the wire so I have some lead for it unbolted the nearest bracket, and slipped it underneath and tightened down the bracket and it fired right up after that. And I did take it off while running and it killed the car in the driveway.

      If you have it or more going to it, it's a common ground for all de, uprev, and hr harnesses. Make sure both are making good contacts. If not strip back the wires and remake the connection and make sure it's grounded secured

      Ok let's try and figure this out. 1st did you go through all, and I mean every fuse you have? 2 did you check the relays for the starter, swap them to see if they are bad. 3 Have you tried applying direct battery to starter motor power? 4 did you do any other mods or have taken apart the car in anyway?

    • @randaycrego4420
      @randaycrego4420 Před rokem

      Yes I checked every fuse in my idpm,fuse block in car and my relay is clicking but no I did not swap them around yet. No mods have been performed and yes I applied direct power to my starter solenoid and it does turn over and start.Still does exactly how it is shown in that video.A friend gave me this car and I have checked almost everything that should be checked for a no crank issue.
