Love your videos man 👍 Just ordered these for my son…think he’ll love em . Also bought a CZ 457 American on your recommendation and it is the best .22lr I’ve ever owned. Many thanks 🙏
Nice review thanks for sharing this. I just ordered a BX4 in 10x42. Seems like a nice all around choice for me. They will be replacing an old Japanese Otsuka 7x35 porro from ~1982. I have been looking through Japanese fabricated glass & optics all my life. Love them for bird and wild life observing, but I found the porro shape to be a little too bulky in my pack on my hikes. For infinite-distant landscape observing I wanted a greater magnification than 7x. The Otsuka rubber eye relief cups dried out long ago, so my image stability has been completely dependent on my upper shoulder muscles, which can fatigue quickly. So a large, stable eye-relief cup design was also a big factor. Looking forward to being able to position them against my eyebrow area for added stability. [EDIT] I changed my order to the 8x42... Glad I did. They are a bit heavy so the added image stability is worth the reduction in magnification for me.
the 8x42 is lighter, which may be a huge advantage for you. I spend 80% percent of my hunting time glassing, so slightly bigger optics are an advantage to me.
I have a pair of Celestron 10x42 and used them for in woods whitetails for the last 25 years and they have served me well, but I really would prefer 8x42 for wider field of view and lighter weight..
@@manolocalifas6488 Mitsubishi cars are junk, many of their electronics are substandard quality, Kawasaki, Japanese steel export quality is horrible, and I can go on.
Optically they are OK but not worth the price they command. I need to send them back to Leupold to tighten up the bridge as they move too freely. If I were purchasing binos under 1k I'd go for sure with Tract or the Nikon HG.
the vortex have good glass but for the money the leupold bx-4 are better glass imo, the vortex have good center clarity but the edge to edge is not great
These are made in Japan. The second best thing you can see on your optics other than made in Germany is made in Japan. There isn't any 100% made in America optics companies
So true. This is why I am steering people away from Vortex, which used to be a great Japanese-made product, but recently moved all production to China. The quality of Vortex has dropped off considerably, while Leupold seems to have wised-up and is going in the right direction. The value of Vortex is no longer there.
@@desertdogoutdoors1113 having said all that I did to bad mouth Vortex, I looked through a pair of their new Razor UHD binos the other day and had my mind blown. I compared them to the Swarovski SLC and they had better clarity. They also have Made in Japan proudly etched into the orbital ring, and a 1500.00 price tag but I was very impressed.
The Leupold BX4 HD Pro is the same price as the Vortex Viper. The Viper is more cheaply constructed (made in China) and has poorer quality glass compared to the new BX-4. Even the $1000 Vortex Razor is now made in China and has that sucky "yellow tinge" glass now. Vortex went downhill in the quality department over the last couple years, while Leupold is improving.
Other than the razor line vortex suck. None of their optics are made in America. Top of the line are from Japan, middle are from the Philippines and the junk line ( diamondback, crossfire) are Chinese.

Thanks for taking the time to make this review. Reviewing optics can be vague and ambiguous but you did a really good job to convince me to get a pair

I tried these at cabelas and he is right. I own zen ray prime and these are awesome.
I purchased the 12x50. Japan makes high quality products.
Yes they do, but these binos are not one of them.
@@brentcarson9634 why do you think not
@@kevn22 Because it wasn't designed to be a top quality binocular. See the optical lab test score.
Great review!
More of an infomercial.
I am trying to make my mind up between 10x42 or 8x42 . You reviewed the 10x42, how do the 8x42 compare?
the 8x42 is lighter, which may be a huge advantage for you. I spend 80% percent of my hunting time glassing, so slightly bigger optics are an advantage to me.

Thank you. I ended up with 8x42, and glad I did. I feel the 10z42 might give me too much shake.

I’m considering the bx4 but also the vortex viper. I lean leupold but unsure . Any thoughts ?
Leupold all day, everyday. I don't know what it is, but Vortex just isn't as clear and crisp as Leupold when comparing similar price points. Ever.
