I was hoping it would be the whole game, but I guess this is good enough.
Props to the runner for being able to constantly commentate what he was doing as he was doing it and still doing it well.
yeah the runner is actually super entertaining but not over the top while still being informative. he's super cool
I found him a little frustrating; his narration suffers a bit since he's obviously dividing his attention, so I would continuously get caught up in his faltering words rather than paying attention to the run itself. I prefer it when the couch has knowledge about the run and can describe it for us. That said, I can't fault the guy, he's clearly good at what he does.

Sonic Adventure IS polished. Sonic Adventure *DX* isn’t.
Sonic Adventure has one of the largest innovations in 3D camera technology and has an incredibly robust character physics system for the time of its development. It is also a Sonic game from the late 90's and even with those innovations late 90's camera and physics tech were not up to the task of a 3D Sonic game.
Ambitious, groundbreaking, loads of fun, but no not very polished. The DX port even less so, and the PC port of the DX port even less so, AND the Steam port of the PC port of the DX port even less so.

I remember playing this on dreamcast and they had competitions for prizes using its online capabilities.. The leaderboards were people beating the levels in 4 seconds .. I used to be like WTF??

I love how he had to make actual backup saves so the run could continue even if the save file corrupted during the stream. Oh Sonic Adventure DX...
I love how his movement looks so similar to the way sonic moves in official animations, leaping a wall to wall. The only difference is how the optimal movement for corridors is the double spin dash spam instead of a normal run.

@@Fredcat11 Eggman tries to steal the phone but Knuckles successfully shatters it into pieces which are now scattered around the whole world. Only if all pieces are found then the mobile phone is fully restored.

I remember playing SADX for the first time and getting Egg Hornet when I was like 9 and beating Egg Hornet like that by accident my first time fighting it, but I couldnt do it after for some reason and never saw youtube videos do it and it made me think I imagined it. Im glad my loser kid self was inadvertantly doing a speed strat quick kill.

As a Sonic fan, this is magical to watch. If I ever end up speedrunning a game, it'll be Sonic Heroes simply because I REALLY like Sonic Heroes.

Today I wouldn't say it's a great game but it's still a lot of fun and just as nostalgic as Sonic 2 which was my very first video game

Damn, i played the 2004 PC port of SADX for years. I still have the two installation discs. But nowdays i play the Steam version with BetterSADX. Does these skips work on BetterSADX?

you dont actually need to do that clip to get the crystal ring, you can just hit the button and spin dash into the door before it closes. no light speed dash needed either

It's a bit faster to do the clip into the crystal ring room (unless it's TAS). Thankfully, the crystal ring clip is very easy, flandre just forgot to use auto camera instead of free cam to make it more consistent.
/Watched that Game Grumps episode as well, forgot to actually look this up afterwards, somehow ended up here a couple days later anyway thanks to CZcams recommending it ^^;

So many of these skips would be impossible in SRB2 because the skybox is really just a wall with a virtual texture on it, lol. New games will always fall short in awesome level design!
