- Get your sea legs ready because we’re headed to Honolulu with surf photographer Zak Noyle, who has one very important rule -- “get in the water every single day.” Dive face-to-face with sharks, taste the island’s best poke, and take a sunset surf on this episode of “Gatekeepers.” Here are the best things to do when you visit Honolulu.

What are some epic things you've done in Honolulu?
Fend off the crazy methed up homeless, watch out for the micronesians trying to jack your shit and watch the funny haoles and tourists.
Free dive at sharks cove in a cave called the elevator. Sketchiest dive I've ever done
Stay far away from it. Not the best place to be in Oahu
@@MrAdventure96 What about that whirlpool thing? Scary.
stryfetc1 check out beet box cafe, down to earth, Leahi health while on oahu
Make sure you check out the rest of the season of Gatekeepers over here: czcams.com/video/1mYidyPU8qQ/video.html
Even though this is about off the path joints, since Zak took the crew to the other side of the island and they drove passed Matsumoto, they could have paid homage to the king. Excellent episode. Love Honolulu. 👍
3:46 Struggle is real with the chopsticks.
Ummm hello real local means liliha bakery, chun wah, foodland poke, the manapua truck, zippys, shiros saimin, etc... that’s what this local girl was looking for in this vid 🙄
Happiest that I've seen this dude.
Canʻt believe the guide is from Hawaii. Why not take the host to the legendary places on O`ahu rather than these newer places that local people havenʻt really had time to become familiar with. Liliha Bakery for cocpuffs, Foodland for poke, Rainbow Drive In for a plate lunch, Matsumoto Shave Ice for shave ice and so many other places that provide a true "local" perspective of our food. Swimming with sharks is probably not a good idea, especially in murky water, and is not a traditional recreation like canoe paddling and surfing. Not a very good thing to promote.
LOL the "LOCAL" Guide couldnt even use his chopsticks properly
💯 🤙🏽
That’s were I live
@@allpunIntended wow, everybody get different way of holding their chop sticks...whateva feels right to them...
Next time come to Big Island! It's a whooole different Hawaii over here.
For someone coming to hawaii.
I recommend no forget for go back where you came from🤙🏽
New Orleans is still the best and seemed the most “local” episode so far
Marc A stop hating hawaii loving
Marc A big man typing the keyboard!!! hawaii is paradise new Orleans is rubbish... I've been there and it sucks
My favorite one!!
Bro.....can u not say that one place is the best cuz that’s ur opinion and I love Hawai’i more than anywhere else
@@lovingmy4zzz529 I don't think he's hating on hawaii more on the episode as the NO episode feels like what the local would I actually do instead of the common touristy things.
Hats off to the host, he really seemed to pay attention to the criticisms on the last video and improve based on viewer's reactions. Much better attitude and he seemed open to trying new things. The other gatekeepers were phenomenal though, this one was just okay
What, your dad is from Guam! Come on stop by here and do an episode!
che'lu was just one flight away from guam. come back and connect with your roots, not just for footage but experience your culture for yourself. Esta
Braddah never even go Zippy's. C'mon now.
Damn I miss it! Born and raised moved out to Colorado about 4 months ago for a job. I miss it so much. They even when to my old job at billabong in Waikiki. This was before the moniz family was integrated into the shop. Store04.
*Justin rockin his 1886 mustache in 2018 Honolulu is ridiculous lol*
Where is Hanalulu?
On the island of "Waikiki" 😂 (died when I heard that one from somebody)
Been wanting to go to Pioneer Saloon. Will have to check out Kaka'ako/Ward location too :)
Hokūle'a means "star of gladness."
Home sweet home!! Pioneer Saloon is one of my favorite spots for lunch
Nope sorry if u wear a aloha shirt on west side ur a definite tourist
amen
Rahja dat.
not true
Super vid. This series really needs many many more views
This is so staged. It doesn’t give the authentic local feeling and what special about Oahu rather than just tourist activities. This doesn’t do Oahu justice
You want a luau? LOL
That’s against what I said. Don’t try to be funny because I hear cricket.
what suggestions do you have?
Justin Lizama hi Justin, I don’t want to name specific places since that’s a different debate and there are tons of places to go (even in just Honolulu). Overall I was expecting to see more of unfiltered and raw local feel like the market, farmer market locals go to, the exotic fruits grown in Oahu, the native dishes (Laulau, pipikaula, poi, ...), random food stand off the street.
I live here. This a a worthy hot spot sample, for diamond head area. What do you expect? Why don’t you make a video about Oahu show us maili or south coast Waianae life. I grew up there, see if you can make that interesting enough. We have no idea what your talking about. That his take.
ono seafood is the best pokebowl on the island 7.50 with a can drink cant beat that
I used to eat there once a week before I changed jobs. Now I'm a little to far a way. QQ
Ono seafood is 🔥 .
HustlerKid nah
Best kine is either that or
•2 spam musubis with a canned passion orange
•plate Lucy with white rice, salad/fried noodles, and either teriyaki chicken or steak
It’s $10 for regular, $12 for large now
ooh kkayy dam they raise the price so much i havent been there in years and i live down the street 😂🤦♂️
Never clicked on a video as fast as this one!! 🙌🏽
Hawaii kai first shot! Already one negative
LMAO x'D this made me laugh
2nd was saying "Poki" instead of "Poke".
I miss living in Honolulu (sort of) , but living in Kona is much more peaceful for me
Real poke lol you should of showed him food land
Ayee reppin RVCA🙌🏼
This and the nola episodes were by far the best. LA in at 3.
It would enhance the experience if you guys put the price for each item you guys buy, or eat for each episode, while you are purchasing them. Especially for this episode I would've liked to see it because I know Hawaii is expensive.
Someone gotta bring you on one real local adventure braddah Justin. This guy is one hipster Hawaiian. “This ones even sicker” 😂 braddah sound like one haole
It's Honolulu not Hanalulu
hana means bubble guts in Tongan and lulu means shake so Hanalulu is the shakey bubble guts lol
MuhMuhMamaLuigi really? not one person i know says “hanalulu” its HONOLULU!!! if you’re gonna come here learn how to pronounce our words correctly🙏
mermaid lover shut the fuck up lol. @muhmuh is right. You are fucking tripping if you think everyone here says hOnOlulu i gaurantee you pronounce Oahu Owahu and not OAhu. Give it a rest with the pretend moke bullshit its old already
Ya lost me when you called it a "pokie" bowl.... knew I shouldnt expect much these kinds of videos are always wildly inaccurate and sensationalist
😂 😂
Somehow, no one in the video spoke pidgin
Yea okay, best poke bowl is from foodland c’mon now haha. Shoulda went to 7-11, Giovanni’s, mitsu ken, rainbow, like brah who coordinated this
I wonder if this Channel is owned by a major Media Network....felt like I was watching a reality show on mtv
Should’ve gone to Highway inn and not the one in town. The one in Waipahu
Brayden ching Helena’s more better
Rudy Artuyo that’s what I’ve heard lol. I would like to go there but I never go town too much lol
This and the Chicago one are my favourites I’ve watched so far. Is there going to be a season two?
Hang out in china town at night that’s usually a wild ride if you make it out alive.
I don’t get the problem everyone has with Justin... he seems like a nice guy
Probably the mustache and skinny jeans.. its an instant trigger for some people.
Right. He's kinda laid back too. People are used to more enthusiasm, whether real or contrived.
Donuts instead of Malasadas?
I live in west side Oahu
FYI..Guam is in the North Pacific..so your roots aren't in the South Pacific. Also..no spam found in entire episode.
Was hard to watch both of them struggle to eat plate-lunch with chopsticks... breah, locals do use forks. LOL.
Justin, you know, Zoolander has a special school for that😉
Junk host you chose for bring you around Hawaii braddah
zak was on Action Bronson's episode about poke
@Justin Lizama sup PAR!!!! Hafa Adai!
Hafa Adai Justin, when you coming home to GUAM?
Mike jones man I wish soon
the blue one is sicker lol
Just eat...
good. Thank you for sharing.
Gotta get the Hawaiian sun 🤙🏼
Who got the gillete propaganda AD
Bro... local kine isn’t doughnuts. If you want local Hawaiian, get malasadas. Melt in your mouth goodness. “Sunburnt Holliday” did give a good laugh tho
A Poke Bowl = my wet dream
since your from the Pacific I will subscribe :D
SUNBURNT HAOLE! LOL NOT SUNBURNT HOLIDAY YOU GUYS GOOFED...
D'OH!!!
Oml lolololol I didn’t notice that till now 😂😂😂
I love the steak shack and eggs and things! Best food in Hawaii
This was awesome
HONO-lulu not HANA-lulu 🤦🏽♀️
Lol my nigga said "pokey" bowls
The first beach I "visited" after touching down was Disappearing Sands Beach (circa 1979). It was not long until I was engulfed in an undertow (or similar) and my dive mask was removed swiftly from my face in less than 1 second. I was 14 at the time and will never forget losing my dive mask which was not tethered to me.
Fuck this makes me want to go to Hawaii, but it's really expensive
Should have gone Any Place Lounge, Side Street Bar, Kim Chee II, Graces, Han Yang, Waiola's, Lion's Coffee, Rock Za, Lol
Hafa Adai Justin!
Live here on Oahu and I would have suggested roaming around the strip in Waikiki at night. Got some interesting people out there. Lol.
this guy said poki bowls
lol ask a Samoan dude for a poki bowl and you might like it (depending on your preference)
Not supposed to make one sick!
Hafa Adai 🤙🏼

Like have fun come to waianae and see how much fun you have with us.
The guy only took him to all the places that tourists or people who moved from the mainland go to. NOT A TRUE LOCAL KINE TOUR! Ah................. Disappointing.
Native Niu yeah junk kine dis host. Auwe
Yeah, would've been understandable if the title said "Hawaii tour" because this isn't a real kine local tour. 😕
Native Niu rajah dat braddah. This was more Hawaii hipster if anything. Gotta show this guy places like Allen Davis’s for swim or even Waimea for jump off the rock. Shouldve brought em to at least go eat some Romy’s or alicia’s or rainbows or taniokas or mitsuken or even Leonard’s malasadas on Kapahulu or the waiahole poi factory in Kaneohe and fort Ruger market by diamond head. Smh dis host kinda remind me of one haole tbh lol get so much places this guy skipped out on. Justin never got the best experience he could have in my opinion
100% agree wit you!
And would have been interesting and fun to watch to see if some real moke kine, funny local people took around. 😂
Man..I wanted to see some places that won't instantly show up on a Google search...Heeeelp 😩 I need places to go that's far away from the tourists (I.e. Waikiki) lol.. I'm getting island fever 😭
I want to see an episode of Gatekeepers where the "gatekeeper" is shit
Woah...
yall gotta go to leonards donuts
Leonards for Malasadas.
Do they need help using the chopsticks? I can help.
I don’t get why people project their shitty feelings onto Justin and the host. Y’all expect too much of others but expect less from yourself 💁🏽♀️ c’mon now. You want content you want to see? Go make it yourself.
Anyways, I enjoyed the video and I appreciated how the host showed you places that he felt was special and showed the Hawai’i he grew up in 💜
I don't read so good😂😂😂
Edit: @ 14:49
Uncle please stop. I can’t handle the way you are trying to play this out
Hey, Håfa Adai from WA 🤙🏽
Hada Adai!!
Colonialism at it's Best
Where are all local Hawaiins..
Hollywood always like to stay close to skyscrapers and martinni drinks
Yuppie Paradise
Why is this not blowing up ????
Poki bowl -_-
Let me know when you're taking application Thrillist!
Lmao when he said "getting lei'd".....................
Do me a favor.. don’t use this as a guide plz. Figure it out like the rest of the haoles
I miss Hawaii 😭😭😭😭
go to tonga
They probably starting dating after this episode.
Never want to go to Hawaii. The locals love me
Even sicka brahhhhh lol
Eat 1/4 eel
I wish this episode came out before I went to Hawaii in October. Haha.
Nice to see the illiterate can achieve what they want. You do you Justin.
Water to murky I know that and I’m black and from philly 🤦🏾♂️
@12:23 the Top Secret Cheese DoNut... Just like my Mom used to make!
