"Te calmas o te calmo" is my mom's favorite, and also "Como chingo un borracho anoche" when I annoy her, I think its a reference to her favorite singer Jenni Rivera.
My mom would always use these two idioms together when I was a child. Anytime I wanted ask her for a favor to go to a friend’s house or to play outside or a toy, etc before I could even say anything she would say “hmm, este huevo quiere sal” and I would get all frustrated and ask her how did she know and she would say, “te conozco bacalao aunque vengas disfrazado”
This one isn’t in Spanish but my grandma always says “don’t count your chickens before they hatch” which means don’t get too far ahead of yourself. Why chickens, she never said

Timothy Hinton he's Mexican, just like I'm Mexican. My parents are Mexican all my family is Mexican. I grew up knowing Mexican traditions. You can obviously be more than one culture so he is Mexican.

If you’d closed your eyes. & didn’t know he was of Mexican decent. You’d think he was an American. I think that’s what he was trying to say. I’m full blown Mexican. I sound “American” I don’t have a “Mexican accent....not even a slight one.” People over the phone think I’m American. They’re shocked when I tell them I’m Mexican. That’s what he’s trying to convey in his comment. ☺️😉
