I’ve noticed something that’s changed my views on Price. Since the World Final, this is the second time I’ve seen Price play Littler and both times, he has refrained from his usual cheat puffing and shouting when he hits a big check out or a 180. I think Price is showing Littler an awful lot of respect. Hats off to him for that. For Littler though, the future is remarkably bright. He’s a sensation and one that all the top players will fear as time goes by!

Amazing night from mvg, 5 2 down to RVB and hitting two ton plus checkouts to win it, and then the 130 out in the final to go 5 4 up against littler. But when you win an amazing game like that against littler you gotta give him his props instead of celebrating for 2 minutes lol. Hes 16 shake his hand and then celebrate.

MVG’s comeback against RVB was astonishing. And it paved the way for claiming an emotional win over Littler. One apiece now. We’ll be seeing plenty of brilliant matches between these two, I’m sure. 🙂

When MVG won Vs RvB I knew he was gonna win. Great tournament all round.
Played against him when he was 13 and he was unreal, everyone at the local club he breezed past like we were muppets, indeed we are.

I recall MvG in an interview talking about a match with Taylor early on in his career and saying something along the lines of Taylor's celebration upon winning showed how intimidated Taylor was by MvG's presence and abilities....

Yeah, I commented a similar thing. Felt like he was very mean spirited in his celebration, all after a 17 year old kid pushed him to the limit AND averaged higher than him over the entire game. He walked passed him and screamed at the crowd rather than walking to him and shaking his hand.

MVG comeback vs Barney holy shit.
WHAT A FINAL. Such fantastic entertaining darts and so easy on the eye. Luke Littler is the best thing to happen to darts coz everyone knows to beat him they gotta produce a very high level and that gives us brilliant entertainment.
MVG played his best match of the tournament in the final and he had to coz Littler averaged almost 107. It was solid holds after holds from both until Luke got his chance but couldnt take it and then the last leg he narrowly missed the Big Fish before MVG clinched it. The respect they showed for each other at the end was awesome to see.
Now we have Littler vs Humphries at 1-1 and Littler vs MVG at 1-1 as well and future matchups between these guys in the PL will be so good to watch. Cant wait for Cardiff already to see Luke vs Luke part 3 and i know were gonna get some ridiculous averages in these fast pace matches.

This is showing veteran players that they aren't feared, and that they need to produce their A game to beat him. No matter how you look at it, littler is the best thing to happen to darts since I've started watching the sport in about 2011.

He is a good player but he hasn’t done anything new on a dart board. He can’t hit a 8 darter in a game of 501.

Why didn't Barneveld go for D16 or D18 on his matchdart? He prefers these doubles and D18 was working really well for him. It happens so often that players don't go for their preferred double(s) and I don't understand it.

Depends what you mean by that. The standard of darts is improving so quickly, it is hard to see any one player dominating. We'll never see anyone else match Phil Taylor's world championship record. Of that I'm certain. The kid is brilliant though.

There's only one GOAT and it will always be Phil Taylor. MVG was equally as good as Littler, if not better at his age, but as good as MVG is, he's won 3 world titles. Phil won 16.

Littler is a character that people have warmed to. This stuff matters. Also, you have no idea how good MVG was at Littler's age, you're just making stuff up.
Phil Taylor started at age 27. It is completely possible Littler could be the GOAT. But the GOAT can mean slightly different things when comparing different generations. If you use the metric of 180s, 9 dart outs and total championships he could definitely surpass Taylor.

Congratulations Michael van Gerwin , when it mattered he hit the right numbers , loved Luke littlers reaction enjoying the game and v respectful in defeat , he had the crowd against him too but he shook it all off and played high quality darts it was a brilliant final have to mention earlier how Van gerwin had to hit that bulls eye to beat Raymond ( felt for him
) but he hit it when it mattered. With also Luke Humpries around and gerwyn price back along with the Michael smith etc darts is the winner ! Onto the premier league but hats off to The Mighty Michael van gerwin what a player what a legend ! Dutch masters Champion !

Before the World Championships I read a lot about Littler being "arrogant" and "disrespectful" during matches, but now that I've seen him play he's always very humble and respectful

Concerning Noppert's several bouncing off darts , it obviously came from his throw... his darts are very angled and didn't go deeply in the sisal; it means his throw is pretty curvy and rely more on perfect landing point than a straight and powerful throw. At 19:11 he clearly hits the fibres not the wire but his dart fell down...
This reminds me of that show stars in their eyes. And tonight Cilla ima be a 16 year old.

Littler if you see the stats beat MVG on every count apart from 1.The checkout percentage, that's what cost him.Mvg is my favourite player but I like littler also.I think for his age he's phenomenal & shows no nerves whatsoever.If he can cope with all the attention & stay grounded I can see him becoming the world No1 in not that too distant future the way he's going.
