The orange peach Police Department received a complaint from a woman who said that officers threw trash down on her front porch. This was after they found a bag containing identifiable information within the bag and brought it back to the house. Upon the complaint Ormond Beach police department said that since the complaint was 30 days older, they cannot take action for discipline on that particular incident, however Beach Police Department, while reviewing the video did find another policy violation and issued a letter of counseling to the officer
Attorney Michelle and I met at the police department. The policy did say that they do not punishment for complaints that are 30 days and older however, after meeting the Chief did email me and remove that provision from the policy.

Theft of mail is a Federal crime. Illegal disposal of the mail is a Federal crime. The homeowner/addresse needs to contact the office of the U. S. Postal Inspectors.
Ok right. I thought so. I just commented on this also.
Nailed it
That's my first thought! Take it to the federal level.
But there's a corrupt Post master general Leroy
City cops are dirtier than their relatives on the farm .
Throwing personal mail that's not yours is a criminal offense
Hope they forwarded that video to the postmaster general of them throwing the mail!
It's a federal offense
Should be a federal crime if I'm not mistaken. If he removed from the mailbox of someone else it is.
Also a felony federal charge for removing it from the mailbox.
And nothing will be done. Cops protect cops
Maybe instead of local police investigating itself , a complaint with the postal police should be in order
Great idea
The cop messing with her mail is a federal crime
"Silly peasants, you didn't know redress has a time limit?"
I think seven years would be fair. Slightly less time than the IRS requires us to maintain tax records.
@valentinius62 As a former DOD employee, everything done at work must stay on the premises for one year, then sent to an archive for six more, meaning the seven you mention.
Very hard to imagine state laws being much different than federal given federal is the guidelines for all intent and purpose.
In fact, if you take a "legal guidelines for police" Manuel out of a California cruiser and an Alabama cruiser, you may have laws worded different, yet means the same thing
@@valentinius62 There's no reason to have any time frame for a complaint. If it's too old, then nobody will remember, and the officer will have retired. But even if old slight misconduct is discovered, the bosses can (reasonably?) say "that was 5 years ago and not too major, so we gave the guy a verbal warning" and people will shrug their shoulders. And of course, if old major misconduct is discovered, the bosses should (but won't) fire the dirty pig.
CYA is all they are doing.
@@gregcampbell619 If that is true, why is it that body cam's are being erased so often then? The police department themselves aren't supposed to be ABLE to delete or edit the video file, all that is saved to Axon's cloud. And if it is deleted, it's like they're tampering with evidence, hmm...
Isn't removing one's mail if not a FEDERAL postal employee already a crime? YES, IT IS!
And it’s a federal crime
Apparently it is a federal crime unless you are one of the few elite elite people who have qualified immunity because these people can do anything and they don’t lie and they don’t do things wrong bullshit
last i checked, TAMPERING WITH THE MAIL was a federal offence
With more than a 30 day statute of limitation for prosecution.
Call the Post Office Inspector.... They don't mess around.
Interfering with the delivery of mail is a federal offense. Once the mail has been delivered to your mailbox, that no longer applies.
@@user-xr2bk4oy1p Just because it made it to your mailbox does not mean it's a free for all for others to take or tamper with it.
Watching this and realizing how they make you talk through a window but expect you to roll yours down all the way...

Sue the city, sue the chief, sue the city attorney. 100 million dollars minimum.
They will pay you in pennies
@@georgecraytin9838 and I will take all 10 billion of them.
It's not that easy. Lawsuits cost money. Most people don't have the $200 to go to the emergency room. Few have the $20,000 just laying around to start a lawsuit.
Yup, a hundred million coming straight out of the taxpayers donations.
@@Teacherofall$200 to go to the emergency room 😮 that's shocking 😐.
They write their own rules and found that they do not violate your right to file. It doesn’t matter if you do complain about an officer since they will investigate themselves and find no wrong doing
Breaking News: The police investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing at all. This is great news.
Police assassinated an American citizen in a Vegas hotel, it was recorded, and they deemed themselves at no fault. That's literally the blueprint for the thin blue liars.
And notice if the arrest an American citizen for dui, they are arrested on the spot. The revenue collectors can change seats with their friend, lie about, pretend to have heart attack to avoid test and it will take years to investigate. And the time it takes to investigate coincides with the collectors retirement date
😂
City cops are dirtier than their relatives on the farm .
And they set up failsafe to protect their accountability.
It's time to create independent civilian review boards in EVERY CITY in the US that review all cases of police misconduct. Additionally, the police unions should not be able to get involved in these investigations until AFTER the independent review board releases its findings. The thin blue line needs to go or the problems with corrupt and incompetent police officers will never go away.
Taking mail out of a mail box is a federal crime. So that was no little thing really, especially for a law enforcement officer.
There not going to do anything to that poor excuse of a police officer. If that cop would do that on camera what's he gonna do with no camera?
I fear for how he acts towards any intimate partners or family members behind closed doors.
Have you ever looked into the studies about law enforcement personnel and perpetration of domestic violence?
TAKE THIS TO THE POSTAL INSPECTOR!
IT IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE TO MISHANDLE OR OTHERWISE COMMIT MISCHIEF WITH THE US MAIL.
You know why.
They're corrupt and don't want to face consequences.
Pure n simple
Qualified immunity must be abolished.
Fun story. Once had the State claim my wife owed more tax ,than she actually made. They forced us to pay while we fought it. In the end they owed us. But, we were told it was 3 months beyond Statute of limitations of 2 years. Funny how that works. Apparently getting what's owed, is only fair one direction.
They’re intentionally more malicious to homeowner’s because they know they have a commitment to the area and want to intimidate them by doing things like showing up to their residence & throwing mail. Sick
We all know where they live too - those propane tanks next to your house are interesting.

Wow. Every day they’re showing their true colors. And you wonder why parents are permanently steering their kids from ever joining. No wonder open houses and coffee with a cop isn’t working anymore. What a deal. Ignore a complaint for thirty days and then the complaint goes away.
Seems like destruction of evidence in a civil event could still be a crime.
And tampering with mail
How did the sergeant get possession of the mail? If he removed it from the mailbox, wouldn't that be a federal felony?
In the lieutenant's words, he was being a "bonehead." If a civilian becomes a bonehead they get sighted and or arrested.
'rules for thee, not for me'
Isn't it a criminal offense to screw with mail????
Criminal hell it's a federal prison offense
So if anyone do arm robbery 31 days ago...I can not be charge, RIGHT??? That what the PD is saying, anything over 30 days is A OK....that's a great!!!! What a bunch of bullshit...nothing is lower then a criminal PD. This PD needs to be vented out completely.
Someone needs to investigate how many doughnuts that LT has consumed in the last 30 days😂😂😂

Oh yeah 😊
You did it better and much more class then i could have. So i will stay silent and applaud.
Isn't tampering with mail a federal crime?
This is ridiculous that this department is intent on limiting a person's ability to make a complaint- absolute disgrace. So much for accountability yet this cop was attempting to minimise how you could even show cause that they would deem worthy. They truly are thugs determined to stop people having any ability to complain. They do not want to accept they have problems & they do not really want anyone complaining - that is the reality. They do not care. I bet this cop asked the lady in such a way to make her feel uncomfortable like she didn't matter & unless she had some brilliant reason for a delay in coming forward he wasn't interested in hearing from her. Cops are great at intimidating or putting folks off without being blatant but making this lady feel she had no option but to shut up & just leave empty handed. Glad to hear this ridiculous issue finally got addressed. There was NO reason to put that in, in the first place except to intimidate the people into not complaining on officers regardless of the issue.
Well the first amendment has a clause that says there is a 30 day limit to redress your grievance. lol
It's come to the point that I'm more worried about what leos would do snooping around my property more than any stranger.
They tried that with us once - my neighbor and I blocked the only exit and met them armed when they tried to leave. Strange how there's no record of this incident, the Sheriff wouldn't even talk to me, his Deputy did only grudgingly.
Felonious activities include tampering with another's mail.
I know where I live if you try to make a complaint over the phone. You get laughed at and hung up on. Then I went in and filed a complaint at the station. For how I was treated. But they didn't find any wrongdoings. 🤷♂️ Damned if you do damned if you don't 🙄
I’m not in trouble or anything, but all of the sudden I need a lawyer.
I want her as my lawyer!!
You misspelled "ass".
I want her as my nurse!
I want her as my girlfriend

I want her in my dreams 😊
I want her as my wife! ❤
Surely I'll always be held in contempt 🫂 and remanded into custody 💍 aaaand held over for re-trial because if at first you don't succeed try try again!❤❤❤😅
When you're married and your wife's always right and she can prove it in a court of law!!! 😁
Yep. Need to find a reason to sue somebody just so I can hire her...
If I had known attorneys looked like that, I never would have stopped committing crimes.
Why throw the mail? It’s so disrespectful and unnecessary. It’s such a glaring example of a persons character. A normal person would gather the mail and put in the door if they noticed it was blown around someone’s porch when knocking.
No kidding.
Definitely a "jerk" move.
By curious coincidence, the bully in high school who stole my gloves with his gang backing him up and a vicious smirk on his face, went on to become a deputy sheriff
Is intercepting someone's mail without a warrent not a federal offense?
sooo..... littering is legal now😂😂😂😂
Wait, wait, wait a damn minute.
They dont take the complaint because they allegedly cant do anything about it? "I can talk to the officer about it, but I cant DO anything about it"
While still unacceptable, talking to the damn officer and being aware of the incident is certainly better than nothing. They aren't going to do anything either way, so....
YT frauditors are surface level know-nothings chasing views & cash. So any actual understanding of the law isn't their primary goal, such as "citizen complaints", that a mere basic understanding of commissioners, city councils, mayors, etc., would explain in detail. But as this video shows, even a supposed attorney apparently doesn't have enough time to do basic research or know about basic city/police structure.
If you will notice, this channel intentionally misrepresented what occurred, in order to push this "attorney" for views. A woman, whose trash was all over the street (illegal littering, possibly by a dog), had her trash bagged up, and put on her porch. In the investigation, the police checked her mailbox to ascertain that the identifiable material in the trash all over the street, matched the homeowners (not a crime in an investigation) mail.
This is evidently an ongoing thing with this neighbor trashing up the neighborhood, and unable to make contact with homeowner, and since police have no probable cause to enter the residence, left the mail with the homeowners trash they bagged up for her. Extremely nice of them to do that when they didn't have to.
So this video attempts to dodge all of that, in order to focus on a complaint the homeowner made, which as nothing to do with the homeowners crime of littering. Since the police department is a subsidiary franchise of the city corporation, they are not by law required to take random complaints, nor take action on them. The city, via the mayor, council, city attorney, and/or commissioners are the ones that have actionable authority to rectify any problems.
The "30 day rule" is irrelevant, which is why the attorney and this channel focused on that. Getting rid of it changes nothing, but what it does do, is push this "attorney" and this channel for views, targeting a specific subset of YT fringe (sov-cits, frauditors, etc.), which was the intent (to soak them out of cash, as is proven by all the sub-quality merchandise this channel panhandles to rubes & fish on commission).
I especially didn't miss the part where this channel is recording private citizens for commercial public use, without written consent by the police involved, or the city mayor/council (which is required by law, including constitutional Right to Publicity/Self-Ownership/Contracting).
To be doing that without consent and release from all parties, is a state & federal crime, specifically RICO Act violations, as it is an ad hoc illegal commercial network across interstate lines for the purposes of illegal profit.
Tell me if I missed something.
Pro-Tip Hint:
I didn't miss anything.
Unlike this channel and that "attorney".

How can he say that tampering with mail isn't a crime??? It's a federal crime? The attorney doesn't challenge this? Has this changed over the years?
She wouldn't challenge it like that. Have a nice conversation and if the client wants, you notify him legally.

In their minds it isn't a crime. As a former postal employee I can tell you that the Inspectors won't see it that way. If a letter carrier did anything untoward with the mail, they would investigate and then show up and arrest you in front of everyone.

Well then......How about, if we commit a crime, 30 days pass by, and we're not caught within 30 days......our crimes should be disregarded as well.
did they removed the mail from the mailbox? If so, that in itself makes it a felony offense,
It would be considered mail tampering if they took it from the mail box, and should be reported to the Post Master for investigation
Damn I could never hire that attorney for sure. I would end up with a permanent woody, and I would have to sue her for that.
"We'll always accept it, but regardless of 30 day limitation we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing."
FTP! We don't need them.
Chéran 04/2011-present
If the PD makes bad policy and refuse to change it you need to speak to their bosses, the city council and the mayor. If they refuse to force changes, then they need to be replaced.
Of course they leave policies vague so that they can tweek them to help fellow officers. There should never be a time limit. Department could open itself to serious lawsuits if they dont do anything cause its 32 days old and yet the law was broken.
sounds like conspiricy against rights
The cop couldn't stop smiling looking at her. She does have a way about her..
Always “ we investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong” ! Oh and qualified immunity too
There should be no limit!
How are you suppose to file a complaint on an officer if you are sick? Being sick doesn't mean you just can't drive but you can get on the phone or online. Being sick can mean you don't have the strength or mental capacity at that moment to file a complaint.

Great job! Keep on doing what you do!
Hey James, your attorney is GORGEOUS!
Ok so you just proved, on video, to the department that their policy contradicts itself in multiple places and forced them to change those policies. Well done. THIS is how citizens hold public officials accountable. When we come together we can create change.
Imagine if officers were required to catch criminals within 30 days of the “criminal act” occurring, and on day 31 the criminal is free of any consequences. Now change the word criminal with officers.
Well done ! You 2 make a great team.
Although I agree with "I guess it would fall under good cause", I wholeheartedly believe that that the LEO WILL NOT consider that as good cause. Nor will they consider it 'good cause/an exception' regarding threats/retaliation. You see how they act when no one is watching (throwing the mail). That is the very definition of INTEGRITY!
How much for a consultation with that lawyer? Hell, whether I win or lose, I still win!
Yes... I'm joking!
I liked how she looked at you and smiled at you James when you said that you were scared of cops and harassment from them! In her mind she was calling BS, gotcha brother!
It really would be a waste of time. Your complaint will go in the round file. You should check with the records manager should be required to keep anything business related for seven years.
Shall only means may not must and isn't a requirement or a obligation to obey, when used in law, supreme court decisions!
