Yes Mike British Truckers are governed back to 55MPH due to the width of our roads, even on our motorways trucks are meant to stay in the left lanes but so many overtake and screw up us 4 wheelers on a daily basis. If used as it is meant to, prices of commodities in America will rise considerably and angry people will be heard complaining that deliveries are late, due to traffic regulations. It is a catch-22 situation that works for us but should not be enforced on American or Canadian Highways as it is impractical. End of Rant. Cheers Mike, safe trucking and watch out for them State Troopers (Then sneaky B's).
It is more practical in Europe as there is not the open expanse of land as in the US. States do OK with roads and don't need someone in DC aiming to justify their job make up an issue where none exists.
Love I-70. Thank You for driving 🚛 and stay safe. Colorado native from the 50s when Cinderella city was in the mall. When McDonald's was 3 blocks from Fox Street and 5 cheese burgers, 5 french fries and 5 milkshakes were 5.00 🦊🎄🎁🏔️⛷️
Years ago I learned --NO LEFT TURNS ON #77 NORTH--cost me then $53.00-- and there was not a car in sight so I used the turn through, The trooper was high on a hill in parking lot and he saw me. LOL The eyes of the law are on you __LOL never did that again.. Love your videos-Gods Blessings and safety. Merry Christmas.
Crazy how tickets happen. The last time I got pulled over I got a verbal warning for 113 in a 55 Just outside of pagosa springs. If I had been in my cmv it would have been a ticket for 56 in a 55. Grin and bare it Have a great day Mike.
Hello Mountain Man Mike love those videos , I would like to catch you doing a live video here we could talk to you . Stay safe out there . Watch out for those crazy drivers . 🫣🫣
🎀Haply Birthday 🎂Sarah🎀 a little late. Hope your day was as wonderful as you! 🎄Merry Christmas⛄ to you & your family. Love riding shotgun. Beautiful scenery. Peace be unto you.
Keep the videos coming, I'm missing the road. Been laid up sick since September. Just got out of the hospital last week after a 13 day stay. Now it's a waiting game until I get well enough to have surgery.
Last time I was on CO 9 it was a gravel road. Was 65+ years ago. Headed north. When we go to Hartsel, Mom said "There it is, that the house we lived in when I was a little girl." I've been back thru Hartsel many times but always on US 24. Thanks for renewing my memory of CO 9. Always enjoy your Colorado videos even if over the same roads.
Mike, there is a channel called ‘Penguin 6’ where the fellow travels around Washington DC on a bike, and shows the daily events there, and includes a lot of historical facts. I’m telling you this because he sounds just like you, with the exact same demeanor. I love traveling with him too.
Glad to see you again Mike. Sorry about the ticket. I've blown the steer tire on my car before, that was scary enough. I can't imagine doing that in a big truck. Stay safe and see you next time. ( I hope it's a snow video 😉😊)
Hi Mike, glad the blow out wasn't more serious. I never had a steer blow out, looked after from above I guess. Regarding the introduction of speed limiters on heavy vehicles, in Australia we've had themfor years now set at 100kph(60mph)and I still dislike them. They effect passing other vehicles precisely as you say,as sure as you start passing a slower car, they will speed up and stay beside you preventing you from pulling ahead to move back into the slow lane and holding up other vehicles behind you. On roads with only one lane each way if you catch up with a slower vehicle good luck trying to overtake. Most cars are on the road for social reasons whereas we are commercial vehicles and the roads are our work place and being unable to pass slower traffic prevents trucks from making a mile as you have alluded to. One thing for speed limiters, they sure develop patience!. Stay safe Mike.✌ Seeya.
Keep the videos coming. Good thing the tire blew in the middle of the night with no traffic coming. At least at night you'd see their headlights coming over the hill. I just had a brake seize up on my one ton Ram, looks like it could be a front caliper. Blew the line, now no brakes or ABS. Getting it fixed tomorrow. $$$$ Mine happen in my yard. Be careful.
Mike, any idea as to what the cause of the tire blowout was, if it was a tire imperfection or a questionable brand/track record of that tire model, or simply that it had a slow leak and deflated to the point of overheating and blowing.
I took that road in August heading to Colorado Springs from Montana. I prefer the 2 lanes over freeway. Awesome shot of Pikes Peak going through Hartsel. I stopped and took a picture from that turn. Colorado gives out plates to for mental handicap not just physical! I worked at Pete Field and was always amazed by the number of disabled veteran plates were in the parking lot. People don't know how to pass! I had a guy come up behind at a good clip. He caught me at a perfect place to pass but held back. He didn't pass at several more opportunities. When he did finally pass, he almost hit oncoming traffic! I do about 4 mph over the limit.
Warren - Western Truck and Tractor repair is based in Klamath, he’s on You tube too worth a watch. Keep the videos coming Mike, all the best, David Sheffield Uk.
My brother lost the whole front wheel managed to not wreck and stop but his wife had to bring him clean clothes. He drove from the time he was 21 till he passed away at 64 him and his Pete had made last run with a load to the San Francisco airport. If your trucking I tell you like I always told him keep the dirty side down and the shiny side up safe trucking guys and gals. To Pop A Top miss you
How weird is it, that there’s a sidewalk, coming out of Alma along the highway…. But people in the roundabout have the right of way… you can’t cut them off… least that’s how it is here where I live!!!!
Wisconsin has a lot of roundabouts. They take a while to get used to. I guess they are supposed to slow people down - Lol. CO is an awesome state to drive thru, gorgeous scenery. Take care in the snow!
Glad you didn't wreck. The Chp in all fairness should have given you a Written Warning if not a verbal (educational) not you need it but for his Body cam... so much for California Dreaming
I am confused, Mike (not unusual), but I just gotta ask: What did this video have to do with Kalamath Falls, OR? Not complaining, I'm a Denver guy, so Hoosier Pass is a nice taste of the home range. Stay safe, and keep your head down around all those cops!
What's a steer tire? I know what a steer horse is when you're hitching up horses, but never heard of a steer tire. And why is it so dreaded if it blows you have seventeen more Wheels. Seriously curious 🤔
Hope you "retire" sooner than later, as aging process and general world mayhem keep marching steadily on; your family needs you; I've long enjoyed your vids and teaching
Steer tire blowouts are the one thing I dread happening.Glad there was no traffic coming the other way .Take care .👍✌✌
I've been driving truck now for 42 years and have never blown a steer tire, but I think about it all the time. Stay safe Mike
Never blew one but lost one on a gravel road axle dug into the ground so stopped on a dime
I agree
Mike, I love these long videos. Looking forward to your annual snow rides in the mountains. Have a safe one.

I watch him also. Do you watch Nancy drew? She tours dc also.
I'm from ' Klamath' Falls Or. !!!! Whoo hoo!!! Living in Florida now. My children and siblings live there.
2 things that will make a tire blow out. Over 100k miles on it, under/over inflation. Also, if you hit something, of course. Stay safe Mike....

Susanville will enforce, when they are bored. Been on those roads a few times, warned once, in a blizzard of all things......
Wisconsin has a lot of roundabouts. They take a while to get used to. I guess they are supposed to slow people down - Lol. CO is an awesome state to drive thru, gorgeous scenery. Take care in the snow!
It's 62mph/100kph in UK, a few years ago trucks were governed to 55mph, also here trucks cannot use the outside lane
When one truck is trying to pass another and they have both lanes blocked I refer to that as a rolling roadblock.
Great video, people today don’t have common sense😎😎😎😎⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Fairplay mine was seen on TV by the Discovery channel and was operated by the Hoffman's..
Yes you got it
Morning shotgun ... Enjoy the view
Ah Breckinridge, on the short cut to Colorado Springs.
Ah yes, 20:39 minutes into this video, "The Continental Divide", l believe you're still in the Atlantic Ocean Basin of the continent..., nice video

The town is Adin (pronounced aid' n) at SR 299 and SR 139.
I had new Michelin tires on the front end. I was really glad I had power steering that night.
46:32 PREACH!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Alma is the highest incorporated city in America, Leadville the highest incorporated town.

Good.morning
🚛🚛🚚🚚
Hey been trying to catch up on ur video's. Hope ur doing good.
Klamath Falls !!!!
I miss seeing Mountain Man Mike. Where are you?
Wow, you pulled out just about every economic and government stereotype there is on this drive.
How many steers have you blown?
I thought you drove the speed limit.
Adin California, I believe is the town you are thinking of
Drive my 79 GMC ladder truck at night generally as revenue inhancement dept can spot that front end 3 blocks away...
So how do you tell if you can drive in a snowy area and you won't slide?
stupid regulations yes the highways will become a disaster. Glad you made out good on the blown steer tire. Pucker factor 100....
What's a steer tire? I know what a steer horse is when you're hitching up horses, but never heard of a steer tire. And why is it so dreaded if it blows you have seventeen more Wheels. Seriously curious 🤔
I think that's a bad idea if they're going to do that to the trucks then this should go for the cars too
why did you put South Kalamath Falls Or if you're in Colorado?
Kalamath Falls is spelled Klamath Falls.
Alma highest city in US
We don't have to drive 100 mph from A to B 65 is fast enough we ain't got to go 100 miles per hour
Happy Birthday, to your daughter
Klamath.....jus saying
Are you flying a plane?
Hope you "retire" sooner than later, as aging process and general world mayhem keep marching steadily on; your family needs you; I've long enjoyed your vids and teaching
🍭SWEET🍭👍🏼
60 mph is fine with me. Never liked going fast.
