    How does your build compare with a stock build, in terms of height and rider position?
    Also, can the stock build be raised?

    • @Ride_XP
      @Ride_XP  Před 5 měsíci

      My bike is taller and currently has even taller and wider handlebars than in this video. You can make the bike taller by getting a bigger rear tire and by raising the forks, just make sure you still balance the geometry. Or, you can get the 2Win TRAIL shock absorbers which add an inch, I think, and then get a 19in front wheel to balance it out.

  • @vimeetgautam7679
    @vimeetgautam7679 Před 2 lety +1

    Hello,
    I think you should go with a 19 inch front rim, with a 100/90-19 or a 90/90-19 tyre setup. The rim setup would increase the off-roading capabilities dramatically. I guess the stock outer tube can easily accomodate a 19 inch front rim.

    • @Ride_XP

    Nice review. Question, did you try your Interceptor or maybe GT with OBR in traffic. Bcz it is really mabigat especially the interceptor. I’m also 5’7 btw. planning to buy either of the two..

    • @Ride_XP
      @Ride_XP  Před rokem

      Yup! I’m used to riding with my tall girlfriend on a scooter, which is really affected by the weight of a pillion. It changes the handling of the scooter a lot.
      So when she backrides on the Interceptor I find it easy enough because the bike isn’t so affected by the weight, and it glides smoothly when preload on the rear shocks are set for a pillion.

    • @Ride_XP
      @Ride_XP  Před 7 měsíci +1

      You can:
      - bring up the forks
      - change to a thicker rear tire
      - change to a 19 in front wheel, and balance it further with the longer shocks sold by Baak

    Good video! I thinking of doing an adventure bike build with the 19”/17” wheels. One thing that’s stopping me is the short fuel range of this bike. Is there any larger tanks available? Is there a way to mount hard luggage like the Zega Pros from Touratech? I want a bike I can do epic trips on. Thanks

    • @Ride_XP
      @Ride_XP  Před rokem

      Hi! Unfortunately I've never heard of any, it will probably need to be a custom job. The short clearance to the twin pipes also limits the ability to mount any hard luggage without some kind of custom fitting.

  • @thebrightrider
    @thebrightrider Před 2 lety +2

    I think it's very interesting what you did here :) Comparing this to the Himalayan probably isn't fair, but still, do you think this scrambler version competes with the offroad capabilities of the Himalayan?

    • @Ride_XP
      @Ride_XP  Před 2 lety +4

      I would say that it’s surprising how tractable the power still is! I was able to tractor through similar to the Himalayan through some sections. It’s not intimidating at all. But the Himalayan is lighter, has much more suspension travel, and has a lower seat height than my Interceptor hahaha. I would still feel far more confident tackling scarier terrain in the Himalayan. That bike was made to take a beating!

    I know you changed exhaust tips but will you go to a scramble style exhaust for water crossings?

    • @Ride_XP
      @Ride_XP  Před 2 lety +1

      Not really on my list, I don't do crossings regularly and I don't want the heat of a high-slung exhaust. But I love the style, not gonna lie.

    Hi Aaron did you increase suspension travel and how

    • @Ride_XP
      @Ride_XP  Před rokem +1

      I did not, raising the rear actually decreased my suspension travel. However, tomorrow I'm installing the YSS shocks, so I will see how that goes.

    Going to be very hard to decide which Enfield I want after just sitting on a few.
    Interesting vid done by Stuart Fillingham re camshaft for Himi/Scram. I had ruled out the Scram/Himi but after seeing them in the flesh I like the extra height!
    Weirdly the Interceptor didnt do much for me if anything Meteor supernova and the Scram are my favourites.
    P.s Like what you are doing re the Interceptor but I'd prob leave as is and buy a Tenere instead.

    Do you have to change to a 17 inch rim to fit those tyres or can it stay 18?

      Mine came 2nd hand with the bullet style tail lights already installed, so these ones were just swapped out directly by the mechanic. Did still take some rewiring though so I left it to the mechanic, very cheap to get done here.

    • @Ride_XP
      @Ride_XP  Před 2 lety +1

      Ohh I love the engine sound on that bike! I didn’t know they made a scrambler version of it. I’d love to try it. It looks already ready to go off-road out of the box. 19in front and long travel is perfect for a scrambler and tires are dual purpose already.
      Traveling without wind protection is… not great but tolerable haha. It will definitely limit your speed but not below most speed limits hehe.
