Lyrics:
Got up today, what a day, thanks a million,
I spent too much time wondering why I got an opinion, yeah
I know you wanna try and get away,
But it's the hardest thing you'll ever know,
Waiting in line,
terrible time,
Over familiar
Well take them away
They've nothing to say
They're over the hill, yeah
I know you wanna try and get away,
But it's the hardest thing you'll ever know,
Trying to get at you [x2]
Trying to get at you [x4]
I know you wanna try and get away,
But it's the hardest thing you'll ever know,
I know you wanna try and get away,
But it's the hardest thing you'll ever know.

One of the most underrated bands of all time
agreed
Not sure they are underrated but I know what you mean
On Spotify the band has the best numbers, many songs with millions of views. But on CZcams they don't have the same numbers and they deserve more. Supergrass is a great band.
Up there with the best British bands of the 90s (Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Elastica etc)
exactly
Flat out 2 nostalgia :D
Junior Santos que saudades desse jogo mano
Junior Santos eu tb 😀😧
Era foda demais chegava da aula ia jogar
MT nostalgia dá vontade de baixar de novo e jogar kkk
FLATOUT 2 & The Sound Of Gran Turismo
I remember hearing this for the first time thinking "Fuck me, this is Supergrass?!" I absolutely loved it back then and I still do now
They fckin rock, bro!
2:01 -- one of the greatest sounds ever begins here.
Melted my face.
started in 0:01
Seriously speaking thank you
I used to rewind that bit over and over again on my Walkman
Sounds like it was beamed in from outer space
Is it just me or is every note played on bass on this album the absolute perfect choice?
100%
Mick is a very underrated bassist. Quality
@@regnetexitium2247was going to post EXACTLY the same comment
The bass drives every song on this album
Thumbs up if you still like this in 2020 and would like to hear a new Supergrass album
yes 🖤♠
still got my cd. still think this is their best album.
One of the UK's best, most underrated, bands!
2021 actually
2021. Used to play this in my band when I was 15.
Flatout 2
You made the comment look like that Flatout 2 is less than Flatout 3... Flatout 3 on paper is best but Flatout 2 is classic
@@BunchOfCrazyStuff Nah Flatout 2 is better than 3 any day of the week. ^^ Flatout 3 isnt even a flatout game in pretty much every single regard to its gameplay.
sorry, I meant Flatout 3 as in Ultimate Carnage, not that garbage knock-off of Flatout =P
@@BunchOfCrazyStuff Flatout Ultimate Carnage
@@BunchOfCrazyStuff
This album as a whole is majestic. Clever riffs...bass lines...lyrics...you name it. Nothing touched it back in 1997 and still relevant today
Spot on. It was peerless.
I took this album to Rhodes in the summer of 97, but OK Computer is a trillion times more culturally significant than this largely forgettable album.
@@arthurballs7083 mate… it’s the Rock & Roll with pop sensibility. By that time Radiohead had already ventured into art-rock scene. Would you blast ok computer in your car stereo back then?
@@arthurballs7083 OOOOOOH!
@@MDCSYD ween
The baselines that this band produces are absolutely excellent.
Flat out 2 boys here🤙🤙
In It For The Money: Amazing Album.
How has this got less than 1 million views. One of the best Rock songs of the 90's!
Fewer
When did music stop being this amazing?
Dr W about 1998?
it never did...
When hiphop flipflop became too popular.
When Simon Fucking Cowell popped his douchey head up and shat his crap music all over!
2011.
The cuddly Supergrass boys go 'dark', to awesome effect. Still a kicking tune (and boasting the best use of a theremin since 'Good Vibrations').
And then followed up with Mary which got banned from MTV if I remember correctly
@@glencurtis6052 how come??
@@bluebellbeatnik4945 It was too frightening for tv lol
@@Lajos_Brekovszky really???
Still one of the greatest songs of all time.
3 minutes of brutal, British punk perfection.
I mean, I wouldn't call it punk exactly, but it's an absolute all-time banger. A perfectly written song.
The riff starting at 2:00 is soo dope!
also some good Flatout 2 memories!
Back in 97 this blew my tiny 14 year old mind!
This might just be the most underrated song of the 1990s
Absolutely! I love this song, and the album is still on high rotation in my place.
@@GillespieDogg song! lets say album
Still trying to get away in 2020. Anyone else still listening to this gem?
Not only loving it. Going to see them 2021 (tell me covid to lie low August UK) at crystal palace ... Now I can die appy ... !!!!
FLATOUT 2 !!!!!!!!!!! ONE OF MY FAVORITES
flatout 2 good game
My favorite song of theirs, and stands up well today 🤘
yeah they hold up well.
Thump up! If u still listen this song in 2019
Alex TSANG - it’s January 2020 mate, still brilliant !

One of the best, and shamefully underrated, songs in history.
The very first time I listened to this piece of jewel I ran like crazy to get the album, good times.
same here, still love the album after 20 years
Well, nearly 20 years, don't make me feel old...
Saw these at Leeds town and country. A giant white screen had old public information films playing then it fell and this struck up at the exact same time. Still the best opening to a gig!!!
What an F'ing band! Played this album to death in the Summer of '97.
Had a compulsion to listen early New Year's Day 2023! It's 1:45am here in the UK and I love this nostalgia trip ❤️
2024 and still one of the best things I've heard... right up there with the very best.
Incredible - such an under rated band
flatout2 yeahhhhhh!
Love this song, and love his voice.
Brooo
I had no memory of this song existing, yet that theremin part has haunted me for literal years.
Still sounds fresh and raw.
Went out and bought this the day it came out. Man, that SG still sounds amazing..so heavy!! You never hear a Supergrass song and think Christ this is going on a bit - they’re always over before you’re ready for them to be..what a great band!
great band. I was 19. the music really meant so much.
Doesn't get better than this...
Supergrass were fucking amazing.
Such an under rated band!!!
This song is far too good to only have 68,000 views
Awesome, loud band live...love them... Respect from Australia...
Jesus I just luv this song
YES - Rockin it in the Leicester car park !
Their finest moment. Love the key change at the end.
Got it today, what a day, thanks a million!
Spent too much time wondering why I got a feeling,
I know you wanna try to get away,
But it's the hardest thing, you'll ever know!
Waited in line, a terrible time, over to near you,
Fading away, nothing to say, you're all that I'm hearin',
I know you wanna try to get away,
But it's the hardest thing, you'll ever know!
Try to get you, try to get you!
Try to get you, try to get you,
Try to get you, try to get you!
I know you wanna try to get away,
But it's the hardest thing, you'll ever know!
I know you wanna try to get away,
But it's the hardest thing, you'll ever know!
That one guy... waited in line, terrible time, over familiar
Thank you
Tryin to get at you
I always thought it was...
'I spent too much time wondering why I had an opinion.'
,
'spent too much time wandering why i got an opinion'
and it's 'trying to get at you' at the end
That solo!!! Just wow
Great band without doubt, SG and Spacehog are the 90´s Britrock forgotten masters!
Greetings from Argentina!
What sets them apart from the rest is imo this
Incorporates different styles in EVERY song sometimes even in one song a la here.
And that GREAT bass and drum combo
Coombes must have had a varied taste as a kid to come up with such fab Music. I think he is only 21 here
This song has so much punky energy. The fade out is a great contrast to end. Beautiful
Jesus, this song is 25 years old this year! I can't quite get my head around where all that time has gone... But this song still kicks some serious arse!
Hot DAMN, I love these guys now, and I loved them then.
this was the tune that made me love Supergrass. The consistently brilliant songs before and after were no surprise. Such a great band
Omg I love you guys and great to have you guys back in a band again
The best of Supergrass
This just rocks.
This is Awesome
Flat Out 2! Good times...
This is from FLAT OUT
❤
2020 and it doesn't date...
This needs to happen.
It never will
I had to try hard to like early Britpop, but then Supergrass came along with their first album, which I actually liked. Then when I first heard this it was like an alleluia moment - everything I'd been waiting for in one song!
I fuckin hate Britpop, but Supergrass should be recognised as being on another level. As a disco child/ funk/R&B fan who later got into every other genre, these guys could straight up play and had us all thinking … “yeah man … they’ve ingested a lot of music”.
obrigado flatout por ter me ensinado a eu gostar muito de rock😭🇧🇷👍
Best ever pop song to feature a theremin. Pure rock and roll.
Led Zeppelin disagree.
best pub song yet
Show the elephant some love man! Love you all from Birmingham England!
My favourite band of all time. Up there on their own. They were there but never made it all over. So understated. I'm 40 and my love for them is still as 💪 strong. I share the supergrass with everyone, original, complete and amazing, no one yet has float my boat since besides the classics. There should be a SupergrassMA for others to study...I don't miss them because I listen to them every day, legendsx
This that fire
God, there's thousands and thousands of them. I won't start listing them coz I'll be here all night! :)
Mick Quinn grooving the f£&k out of this one. Absolutely smashes it.
This was one of their best song I think, really unique.
Their best song !
nope
oh yes
See 90s videos still look amazing. So many of them, this, metallicas until it sleeps, Joan osbourne you name it.
One of the best guitar riffs of the 90s.
I used to play this on the jukebox at lunchtime while playing pool in college, guys got to know that if I had this on I was pretty hard to beat😉
Shit, are you me???
I try not to listen to this song too much as much as I love it that friggin guitar riff gets stuck in my head for days!
This is when I realised Supergrass were a proper force to be reckoned with.
Still one of my favourite tunes of all time. In it for the money was an amazing album. Can't wait to see them next year too.
Really electrifying video. Got to love it !
Thump up! If u still listen this song in 2020
Great band, this song is full of power. Listen all the instruments wow
Amazing!
This is classic Britpop!
I love it!
glad to see so many others puttin on there favorite supergrass tunes in the wake of the sad news of there end.
great great great great song!
The bass on this song is next level...
love their dark sound !
This song rocks.
This will never age
Every time I hear this song is like hearing it for the first time.
Their best LP imo.✊
Brilliant song from a brilliant band
Love this tune. Great work boys!
Total class
Decades later, it still keeps returning. More punk than punk ever was and so much more.
Why are people commenting about flat out wtf is flat out I just love super grass and their music what is flat out
It's stupid gamers spamming the comment section once more.
An expert on the Wa Wa pedal seriously this guy can bang a banjo, sadly missed band, they were superb.
this is super-cool.
How does this sound so much like Smashing Pumpkins, while another of their songs can sound so much like the Beatles/Stones? That’s some impressive diversity in their sound.
tbh i was a fan from the 90s and i don't even hear it. to me that sounds like one band.
Billy Corgan sing like John Lennon in ''Im only sleeping''.
How passionate is Mick
Their best song & live it's as close to the Jam as i ever saw...... Stunning power.
I bought this album when it came out. changed my life . Thanks from Australia
Brilliance!!
