Didn't know about the sand and torch trick - that's handy! Also found out that placing a scaffold in the top water block of a bubble elevator prevents the bounce when you pop up from it, which makes the transition smoother.
Probably known but not mentioned: Scaffolding placed horizontally will build a support column for itself on the 7th block. So you see it drop (in the 7th spot) but what you dont see in the video is it places itself at the bottom, like a gravity affected block (sand etc). So if you keep placing scaffolding, it'll make a tower to support itself then continue going horizontally. If you're up high it can be expensive, but possibly better than going down, or changing the height of your scaffolding (like with the sand and torch. Cool idea btw!)
I learnt an even more improvised technique, on the 7th spot place a solid block and then a piece of scaffolding on top. Then repeat the process. Only down side is, you'll be going up every 7 block
Found one piece of bamboo in a shipwreck treasure chest, as it grows very quickly, I now have a forest of the stuff. Great scaffold tips Avomance, thank you they will come in handy.
You could also make chairs by putting a trapdoor on top and then flipping it up. Makes for a smaller back and four clear legs. If you wanted an upholstered chair the trapdoor would have to go behind.
If you place the 7th scaffolding out letting it fall, it will build back up to your level and you can continue on again. I have seen this done to get from land to an island. A bridge across the ocean that was wide as well as long. What was nice is you can even cross on your horse at full gallop.
I use scaffolding all the time in Bedrock .... the same keys in Java just shift the scaffolding horizontally rather than vertically which is the opposite of Bedrock. This is going to be fun to get used to.... ;-;
I have found that when i build across when it gets to the 7th one it falls down and will build up to the level I am going across then continue to go another 6 blocks before filling up the next 'leg', just have to make sure there is nothing in the way for it to build up, like a torch, button, slab, etc... For the readers, that is in java edition.
Zombies will follow you up scaffolding. But I think it depends on the circumstances. Haven't properly researched it but it has happened to me multiple times.
To answer the question whether you're adding to the top of the bottom of the stack, rename one and shove it in. Better yet, rename a few and add them all to the stack - it might be random.
How do you make your scaffold tower taller without going down to the bottom to place more? i.e., from the top, if you realize you're not quite high enough?

If you don't mind making a lot of Scaffolding, you can just let the seventh bridging fall down making another tower to extend your bridge.

Thanks, Avo! Scaffolding is something I haven't taken advantage of nearly enough. I will have to remedy that!
I always like your videos before even playing them Avomance.

also good use for cheap fuel if you make a bamboo farm

This video is really underrated. You are very creative!
Great video Avo! I love using scaffolding
I came back to mine craft about two weeks ago haven't played since they made lapis for enchanting these vids are so helpful!
MrWesd93 same and agreed. So helpful.
If only I could find a bloody jungle in my realm 😅

Great video, Avo!
All I could think of was a weird looking laddar, or making a circle-ish tower's outline.
Love the sand extension bit
Can mobs go up/down scaffolding? (hostile or villagers) will they walk across them as well?
Christian Zincke I think no
Spiders can climb up, not sure anything will climb down.
They can but they won't pathfind up. The same way it works with ladders.
I was building a barn two days ago and the horses were going up and down them.

doors look terrible for chairs you corrected it with the trap doors.
This was brilliant
pixlriffs uses it as the supports for a rollercoaster on his channel

its the best fuel i think
Take a shot of vodka every time he says scaffold
Nearly 20 in the first three minutes.... I'd be dead lol
Well this is a video about scaffhold
hashafasha it’s a challenge, not a judgement lol
Does building outward not work on ps4? I still have to crouch and look back and place on the side
Is there any other item behaving with scaffolding like the snow does in minecraft?
sand
Probably carpet but I haven't tried it.
How do you make your scaffold tower taller without going down to the bottom to place more? i.e., from the top, if you realize you're not quite high enough?
go down a couple of scaffolds and then click upwards with scaffold in your hand Susan... you'll add to the height then!
Awesome

Scaffolding is my bed frame irl, but they don’t look pretty as a bed frame in minecraft
Can I get bamboo without finding a jungle biome?
Look for sunken ships in ocean biomes. They usually have some bamboo in the chests.
Thank you guys for your tips.

Glowstone placed on a scufold
and when your only half way up you nether up nor down
thanks for this tutorial ^^ i will use this on uplift if you wanna see my build come at 2850 2500 upluft, see you in the game ^^
THEY COULD BE USED AS ELAVATORS!!!!!!!
Using it to cheat falling dmg in nether
For the one's wondering how? Just use it the same as the watter bucket but hold shif too.
Try using it as cheap fuel
Easier to just use bamboo straight up.
@@marceldouwstra5847 but not nearly as cheap. I think you can smelt about 5 items per piece of bamboo vs 4 bamboo per item
each piece of scaffolding smelts 6 items its amazing as fuel, you get to smelt 36 items for 6 bamboo and 1 string
That is really nice! Might end up revising my smelter/bamboo farm setup.
get a spider spawner set up aswell for the string (if you haven't got one already). using scaffolding as fuel has definitely gone under the rader
First?
