    the Sab's debut might have the best sound/production of any album ever made. They made that record for mere pennies, yet its sound is shockingly awesome and, well, PERFECT.

      It`s a raw well made album.
      Not a polished up turd like some are.
      Love the 1st Sabbath album

    great reviews man. alot of people consider vol 4 weaker than the ones that came before it but im glad to hear that it is your favorite album.

      For many years I went back and forth between Master of Reality and Vol. 4, but in recent years it's really taken over as my favorite. Can't go wrong with Wheels of Confusion, Tomorrow's Dream, Supernaut, Snowblind, Cornucopia, and Under the Sun!

      Bought Master of Reality when it came out in 1971....always liked Vol 4 best of the first five ....
      Vol4
      Paranoid
      Black Sabbath
      Master of Reality
      Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
      Is how I’d rank the first 5

      As much as I love the first 3, Vol.4 an Sabbath Bloody Sabbath are really where the band peaked performance wise for me. But the order constantly changes, just like zeppelin I end up re-discovering and falling back in love with certain albums. But Vol.4 will always be up there as one of my favourite all time albums!

    Not sure how I am only running across this now but very fun to listen to. I discovered Sabbath way too late but did my best to make up for it and I still am! Quite a hand who can lay the best claim of anyone of inventing the heavy metal genre. As always, VERY enjoyable to listen to these awesome videos!

    Mastering or remastering should never be about making a piece of music simply louder through compression. Andy Pearce did not do that. His 2008, 2009, 2010, 2020 and now 2021 are terrific.

    Enjoy your breakdown fella,very knowledgable.
    Dont know if you have heard of a rock mag over here (England) called "Classic Rock"....i know,snazzy title huh?
    well they had a recent top 100 of 70's VINYL rock albums,and this was top 10.
    The theme was great albums,cd or vinyl?
    general consensus was that vinyl wins hands down for every genre.
    Have to agree,cd for the car,my Linn Sondek LP12 for serious listening for every detail at home.
    Just love the warmth and general musicality of vinyl over sometimes clinical digital cuts which can lead to "listener fatigue" (used to work in an up-market hi fi outlet in London)

  • @captainkirk70
    @captainkirk70 Před 3 měsíci

    Sabotage is my fave. But I always thought Hole in the Sky had weak production. Doesn't really sound as great as the rest of the album. Kind of like Immigrant Song on Zep 3. You expect it to be monstrous but it sounds kind of weak compared to the sound of the rest of the album.

    Paranoid was my first ever album purchase way back when it was first released. I quickly went out and bought the first album which I thought was even better than Paranoid. Master of Reality was mostly good but when Volume 4 came out I was disappointed. The album cover is just crap and seems like it was designed by someone with no artistic flair, the music was a letdown too for me. There were some good tunes but shorter, less heavy, but pop sounding. I quit buying Sabbath albums after vol 4 but many years later I listened to some later albums and liked them so I bought them. Not all but most.

  • @rodrigosoares7126

    • @micolsen8895
      @micolsen8895 Před 5 lety

      Depends on your ear/taste.
      I prefer the warmth of the 2009 remasters..except for Paranoid, TE & NSD.
      Those were improved upon with the 2016 remasters; but, most of the 2016's were too bright for my taste.

  • @truckerkevthepaidtourist

    they're selling these at Walmart for five bucks a pop.
    rhino Warner remaster 2016
    I didn't know how good. I thought I'd check it outsome reviews not only just through like Amazon but I saw you review the few years back.. because the Warner Bros remasters of ZZ top those were scary awful. you can still hear on Classic Rock radio when Jesus Just Left Chicago comes booming across with that god-awful compression..
