Good to see that Yamaha stepped up with a larger displacement - 2 cylinder engine. I like the cab model and would like adjustable defrost heat (and fresh air), and variable wiper. I'm not a fan of the 4 seater and would obtain greater benefits with a larger rear box rather then 2 extra passengers. I would use it for hauling gravel, a bit of wood, cooler, smaller items and hunting applications. A tachometer would be useful so that the driver knows where the revs are for various uses. Signal lights, a horn and mirrors as some places allow ATVs and UTVs on public roads.

I'm a RZR guy myself but Yamaha really knocked it out of the park with this Family-orientated build. One wonders though, when does it no longer classify as a SxS and then becomes an SUV instead?

The cab option looks nice but I wondered how sealed up is the rest of machine? Will dust come in from under the seats and under the floor?
Several good things about this machine but until it comes out with more horsepower and a higher top speed, it's a no-go for me and many others.

Man! Riding has become so plush, when I raced enduro it was me my IT 175 , riding gear, and a route sheet.

Yes its expensive but it allows you to go on trails that jeeps and trucks can't go down at least in Minnesota there is far more atv/utv trails than jeep trails.

We could never be able to fix or do any on the spot service in the boonies on anything this sophisticated and no doubt super expensive vehicle. You'd probably need a heliocopter rescue to get it fixed. Ridiculous.

He says it has 10.7" of wheel travel, but it only has 8.7" so not much at all. He was thinking of ground clearance, which is still not good at 10.7.

Don't really understand who these are targeted at, the price point on side by sides keeps climbing and climbing. Assuming the only accessories are the enclosure and a heater you're looking at like 24k. Someone justify that price to me because I don't see it reflected in the product AT ALL. I could buy 2013 Jeep Rubicon for that price OR 3 brand new 250s and have left overs.They are less capable, have no AC and you have to tow them or go through the hassle of registering them for road use. Makes as much sense as 120k Mustangs...
They cost as much as cars now and who would want to pay 20k plus for a vehicle that cant be driven daily on highways? No thank you. Bad part is idiots keep buying them at these insane prices.
You can drive them on the roads in many states. I do.
I recommend taking a look at the mahindra roxor base model is 14k and its basically a diesel jeep cj5 all leaf spring suspension whole interior is rhino lined as well as underneath and it comes with a 5 speed
@@cjones29hd Pretty ignorant comment if you ask me. For starters, these are not for driving on a highway, period. Some of us own extremely rural homes or cottages that have access to state/provincial parks and hundreds upon hundreds of miles of trails for snow snowmobiling and ATV's. Certainly not something you would drive your Jeep Cherokee or any other CAR/SUV on. You can drive these into inaccessible natural, dense parks for camping, fishing, bbq'ing, hunting, or simply for the thrill of riding. At the end of the day, these are toys. Toys are things you spend money on to enjoy, not something that is supposed to make financial sense for your accountant?! So not too sure who's the idiot here.

the thing with fly-by-wire is probably good. but if you're in the middle of the wilderness how do you fix an error on that system. A little too much electronics in things that should be robust and easy to fix yourself.
I think they have the technology down pat it's only been on airliners for how many decades..
understand what you mean. but I thought a little bitt differently. if you are in the wilderness far from civilization and no mobile coverage. formerly it was enough with some tools and inventive as you could fix it provisionally so you could take you to safety.
Chris Staples the difference between aircraft fly by wire and this, is basically the difference between a jetfighter and a Lego airplane. Consumer grade electronic controls fail all the time.
You forget airplane also have redundancy systems also. I doubt this thing has a 2nd system that takes over when one fails so you can safely get home.
