This car was definetely the one I fell in love with when it came out.It looks absolutely gorgeous.It will always have a special place in my heart as probably my favourite ever Audi!
Another vote for the B7 here. There’s nothing like driving that V8 with a high performance exhaust, keeping the revs turning around 4K-6K range, poised to hit 8K+ at any moment. True race car notes that aren’t obnoxious. Forget 0-60 and 1/4 mile specs here. This isn’t the perfect drag or track car, but is arguably the most fun you can have as a daily driver in the real world year round. I think of the B7 as an original R8 (4.2L V8 / 6MT) wolf in sheep’s clothing. I have 78K miles currently on mine, with a goal of driving over 200K+ miles by the time I’m done

I’m sure there was still a rev limiter on the B7 RS4. They just didn’t have use a “soft rev limiter”. Nowadays it’s rare to find a car that will let you rev above 4,000 RPM in neutral.

I love this car. Part of me wants to trade my S7 for the Cabriolet version. But for almost the same price of pristine RS4 Cabriolet, I can get the new Nissan Z when it comes out.
You drove all the audi legends. Do you think a manual is a must have with this engine ? My dream car is the rs5 v8 but they only have the s tronic and s5 with a manual v8 are getting pretty old. Never driven automatics in my life btw. Thanks.
As the above user stated. The RS5/7 Sportback take care of that market now. Audi would only lose money on making a sedan, since it's heritage and history is fast RS Avants.

The pinnacle of Audi RS has to be the R8 V8. There's just something special about it, which the V10 does not have. Especially with the gated manual.

This car has a faulty chain-drive system for the cams which results in broken plastic chain guides and destroyed engines. Best to avoid.
Back when Audi's V8's sounded like V8's.
More back when Audis sounded better than anything else.
