- Join us today as we attempt to do over 600 miles in our 2020 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range+ in just one day!
Across three countries, we try to get from Europoort Rotterdam, to our holiday home in the Vendee on the Atlantic coast of France in a single day.
Hi Sharon & Richard, great to see you posting again. I follow on Twitter but I do love your YT stuff. Your USA film location videos did bring me back a bit, my father and grandfather brought me up on Stan & Ollie. My kids love BTTF too, I grew up close to the Delorian factory, great to see those locations. Enjoy your holidays, take care👍
Thank you 😊
All the best 👍
Glad to see you, the faculty.. And the coat having another trip
😄😄 Well the coat does enjoy a good trip out.
Saying that, we're going back to France tomorrow, & looking like highs of 28C & a week of unbroken sunshine... he might have to stay at home in the wardrobe 😜
Hope all’s well Rich and Sharon.
Morning Alex, we're doing ok 🙂 Sharon had emergency spinal surgery a couple of weeks ago, so she's currently recovering from that. So I hit delete on Twitter whilst we get back on our feet, no pun intended. All the best.
2 weeks ago i did 629 miles in a luton transit from cumbria to a little village 20 miles from thetford and back again, walk in the park in da Tesla :)
Nice to see a bit of Tainted Love
😂😂 Well you need some classic tunes to help pass the long hours on the road!
I'm glad I've found you again, thank you CZcams for recommending your video. I used to watch your Nissan ENV200 videos. What a journey, but I remember you really like those. I'm a subscriber now so I shouldn't miss your adventures.👍🏻
Thanks for subscribing Garry 🙂
Indeed in her Nissan, it would've probably taken the better part of the fortnights holiday just to get there! 😄😄
It's just so much easier in the Tesla.
Going again this weekend, this time via Eurotunnel, so we'll see how kind the UK traffic is to us!
All the best.
@@TeslaModel3Adventures looking forward to the video of your next journey 😊
I could tell the Tesla must've been a more comfortable ride, you both looked so fresh, despite the red eyes.
I'll catch up on all your videos, and find out how you've all been getting on. Thanks again for replying. 👍🏻😊
We've had an annual ~14h trip to Cornwall in our MG ZS EV for the last few years. 160 mile range on a good day, using only CCS rapids at 40kW. We travel overnight too and avoid most of the traffic and charger queues but the last few hours can be a bit tedious 😴
It was almost the same journey time in our diesel Meriva though, but more expensive and less MG-pilot-y 😁
😄😄
You're not wrong... that last drag is always difficult!
14 hours! Boy... what were we complaining about! 😄😄
Thank you for the coffee... that's very kind. I do suspect that Sharon may opt for the wine option though! 😅
Thanks again, and all the best 👍
I live in Sw France and have driven our 3LR from here to both St Malo and Calais several times. Spring/Summer driving, no rain, all standard just me and a carry on bag.
AutoPilot is a nightmare due to over reacting and phantom braking. This makes driving the Tesla more of a trial than any other car, so now I never use AP, I turn off forward collision warning, aeb and lane keep assist. This makes the extra cost for all of these aids a waste of time and money.
Tesla Superchargers are all sited off the Autoroutes which means driving to a hotel car park for an hour of charging. Some chargers are not so easy to find.
We also own a diesel peugeot which can easily do over 1,000 kms on a tank and doesn’t cause any issues. It cost us half the price of the Tesla. It also takes about half the time to drive.
I really understand where you're coming from on so many points.
There's times when the prospect of charging for 50 plus minutes makes my heart sink.
Sometimes you just want to keep driving.
With our SR+ & at French autoroute speeds, the range is really limited.
Saying that we use AP a lot more in France than we do in the UK. It's not perfect, but on that 600 mile journey, we only had a couple of phantom braking incidents.
We still like the car a lot, it works for us.
Next time we go to the caravan, we're doing the Caen ferry, so it'll be a shorter journey... and I might even let my Wife drive to take some of the stress!
All the best.
You need to have a go at the EV Cannonball record 😆 Think i will stick to Devon.
😄😄
I'd need a hotel night to break up the drive to Devon from Hull 😜
I can't understand why you would want to do this trip in a Tesla when it would have been so much more entertaining in the Nissan ? LOL.
🤣🤣
It would've taken over a fortnight in the Nissan! 😬😄
Great video. Love long distance trips!!!
@@UntrainingUltrarunner Thanks 😊 It was a long drive! 😅
