The Philippine Eagle is a magnificent bird of prey. In 1974, I wrote the song Eagle inspired by knowing about the bird and seeing it in Ateneo up close when I was still in grade school. I was in awe then. I still am in awe as I approach my seventies.
As a photographer, I made it a mission to take pictures of the raptor in Mindanao. I finally did it a few years ago but really only able to take images take images of recovering Philippine Eagles in cages or displays where they were tied to posts. Still, I got some decent images and was happy to do it. I made this video inspired by National Geographic and other organizations that support the environment and share their work in CZcams and social media.
The Philippine Eagle is an endangered specie and I want to be part of the solution instead of being part of the problem. Let us support organizations like Nat Geo and World Wildlife Fund. All living things benefit from our Earth and give back to it in their own way. That makes them earthlings too. If you observe them well, you may be surprised at the powerful lesson you can learn from them and how they instinctively avoid or collaborate with you based on their own perception of safety.
