Summer Wild Camping Gear and Different Set Ups

- In this video we have a look at the gear I use for summer wild camping, not just looking at specific items of gear but more at the different set ups you would use in summer whether you are using a tent or a bivvy.
Going to look at basic camping gear first, then a look at the different shelters I would use and finally a quick look at the food you may take.
At the end if there is time we might go for a quick pint in my new beer garden.

I like that you have the classic kit instead of just all new items. This shows that quality gear that is well taken care of can last and last.
Once I was happy with my gear saw not point in changing it, might update the odd item but the rest of it should be OK for a few more years, thanks Pat

Great video and just what I needed some ideas to get my pack weight down as I'm building up for a mountain camp and too heavy at the mo. I agree an outdoor sleep in open air is an amazing experience, so relaxing. Cheers Patrick, good luck your next adventure!

Wow! I've got the very same 30 odd year old bivi bag ! Love mine too. Last time I used it I slept under a hedge near Leighton Buzzard whilst walking the Grand Union Canal walk. Fabulous. Great video Pat.. Oh and that beer has got me well thirsty !!

Thanks for the informative video. I pack up my sack with the minimum stuff and a 3x3 tarp as a shelter and it comes to 11kg including 2 ltrs water and food. My winter pack weighs even more. I bet Autumn is your favourite time of year for camping.
Surprising how it mounts up, if I don,t use something on a camp, then learnt that I don,t need it, but still difficult, I prefer to be comfortable and warm rather than super lightweight..... thanks Pat 😊

Hi Pat, been a bit of a long time i got my phone stolen a while ago so what with different things going on hadnt had a chance to get a phone until now. a very cheap basic samsung but glad to say its at least got youtube on it so i have watched all the videos you did up till now so had many dáy watching them all back to back. Congratulations on the shed pub also the porta potty lavishly styled toilet i was thinking with also the beer garden under construction all you need now is the bar restaurant where the tools are stored thats an amazing job youve done on everything if i ever get out of vietnam and get back to the u.k.. which i hope i can by next year i will see what work i can do when i get back ânyway all the best to you and family have a great day and keep on camping :-)
