Wow just wow! I can honestly say that this is the first time in my life that furniture has given me chills! That purple/violet table (and honestly all of his work) is absolutely stunning! When you consider the amount of time, talent, craftsmanship, materials, labor, overhead, employee wages etc. that goes into these types of projects, I think the price is absolutely worth it. The people buying his work aren't just purchasing furniture; they're getting a conversation piece, a keepsake, an heirloom and most importantly a breathtaking piece of functional art!

G'day from Australia mate, I watched a couple of your videos and found them very informative, I am a back yard wood worker making small cheese boards to coffee tables and have been doing this for about six years now. Most of the material I use have been scrap materials occasionally buying some timber, I found out that the pricing side of this was challenging, though I didn't price it to high some people would still want it cheaper. But the good thing is that I have alot of repeat customers who love the product that I'm churning out. Always coming up with new ideas for my stuff. Keep up the good work cheers mate from the land down under 👍😊🇦🇺

Really nice conversation, Morley. Obviously a big departure from your normal style of videos but this was really interesting, and you kept me interested in basically just a conversation between 2 people sitting at a table for 20 minutes. Props for the shout-out to Justin for HIS videos, which are a very different style from this, I think with you, it makes sense to see you in the video expressing your opinions and asking questions from the perspectives of someone who is looking up to someone more experienced, while Justin’s perspective is more that of a pure documentarian.

The best advice I have for anyone who is wanting to start their own company. Is to make sure it is something that you truly love doing. If you don't love it, then all the long days making little if any money will break you. That is often the difference between the people who keep going and those who give up on that dream. The next thing you need to do is to pay yourself a salary and legally separate the business from yourself. These last two things protect you more than you and your family more than I can explain here.

I agree with his comment on having a workplace where all the guys like working with each other. Back in the 90's when I was GM of safety grating company, who ever I was going to hire was told that the shop crew had the last vote on whether they stick with the company or not. The worst thing you can do is hire the wrong people and end up creating more problems than you had before you started.

I’m super late to the video but I like the part where you talked about your fiancé saying you need to decide whether or not is a successful project before you put it out and it reminded me of a quote from Rick Rubin when he said something along the lines off, you make are for yourself. You do it so YOU like it and then you put it out. Those who understand you will love it. And those who don’t won’t affect you because you did that piece for you. Not for them.

Love your passion and woodworking ability. Also love that reverse psychology. "I'm gonna ask for subscribers by saying that is what i usually do, but I'm not doing that right now". Honestly If people like your content, they are gonna like and subscribe whether you ask them to or not. And it's not even your content that gets subscribers, it is really tour personality that people subscribe to. That's kind of a basic fundamental of CZcams. If people are attracted to your personality, you are going to get views and subs and likes almost regardless of they type of content you make.

I think your approach to creating stuff is very similar to how I make my little projects. You should stick to your guns. Anyone who negatively comments should make their CZcams channel. Please continue the way you are. This video was great. I could never imagine owning one of David's pieces. But I can appreciate his work. Epoxy (resin) and wood are not my aesthetic. Unless I know 100% for sure who that person is, like some amazing wood worker/artist/musician, and their comment is positive, and "guiding"....I just try to laugh at the insulting comments, or people who just automatically turn to being an asshole.

I am a carpenter and I seen his shop in a glance and knew immediately not a carpenter! His house he did not build!

I dont need defend myself and our company because our work speaks for itself. We’ve been a viable woodworking company for over 25 years. I am also a registered Terion home builder. We did in fact build my house and shop. All of my doors we built, Years ago we mainly built kitchens but we’ve evolved as a business and enjoy the excitement of one of a kind pieces. Cabinets and crown are the most basic form of carpentry, so yes, I suppose we are artists first. That’s what makes us so desirable. My entire staff has spent the better part of their lives in the carpentry trade. Some of our employees have their red seal, others have decades of practical experience. You make a lot of assumptions without any knowledge beyond this interview . The majority of what we build is solid wood furniture for interior design firms around the world. Most of what we share these days is resin work, because people enjoy seeing it. Good luck to you in your business. I hope you are able to find the success we have worked so hard to achieve

When you get materials for free and then expect to be able to charge as if you paid for it is part of the problem, that makes people feel like they are getting ripped off!
Also, if you put you stuff out there on social media expecting to make money off of the people supporting the channel by subscribing and liking and sharing, then you have to be willing to take criticism as well as the compliments!
