    This is the instrument that people wanted the Jupiter-80 to be--a full panel of analog controls and all of Roland's vintage sounds, but with digital reliability and some sampled sounds (like pianos) available. It doesn't have the layering or some of the power of the Jupiter-80, but if you want a virtual analog poly synth with new and vintage sounds, it's probably the best choice. And the price is not out of line--especially compared to a Moog One or Solaris.

I really am flying by the seat of my pants in these videos and make sure that I don't play or the keyboards until the camera is rolling. That first second is risky business when flicking to a new patch for suret. It's in an effort to give the perspective what it would be like to walk up to one in the shop and flick through some presets, means I don't have to fake any reactions too. Thanks again for stopping by, wishing you all the bestest X

Also the Fa has the dials as well for live control and costs a whole lot less.... But having said that, I suppose there is a huge advantage in this Jupiter as you have all those from the Fa and all the live controls as well.... And there are more things as well... What in you opinion are the differences and advantages of each one and the Roland System 8 etc?

    This is without question for me, one of the best sounding synths I have ever played. A bit of a learning curve when learning the structuring of scenes but well worth a few hours of prodding around and a bit of manual thumbing. The biggest problem I have is, which synths to sell to make space because it's bloomin' massive!

    A question - is Fantom capable of producing every sound Jupiter X is? Sonic vise, is there a point of getting both of them?

    • @BrandonRyan
      @BrandonRyan Před 4 lety

      FANTOM doesn't yet support Models/ABM synths, but underlying ZEN-Core engine is the same. JUPITER has i-arpeggio that is not on FANTOM. FANTOM has V-Piano and SuperNATURAL sounds that JUPITER does not have.

    • @aleksandari.7834
      @aleksandari.7834 Před 4 lety

      @@BrandonRyan That was to the point, thank you very much. ABM is a new term for me, but that was what I was mainly interested in. I have checked Roland's official page, and they confirm your statements. If I want to use sounds of Roland analog synths such as the 80s Jupiter and Junos on Fantom, is it reproduced using Supernatural technology? If so, do you see that ABM does a better job with it? I understand that ABM emulates all kinds of aspect of an analog circuit, but do you see it as an major advantage over Fantom and worth of a price? I would like to get a keyboard that is a workstation as Fantom is, but am mainly interested in sound of the Roland 80s keyboards (without buying analog). I am sorry if this was too long, thank you.

      @BinuralOdyssey Před 5 měsíci

      That's about my only complaint. Sure the parameters can be set from 0-100 but the biggest jump in sensitivity is from 0 to 1, and then it's marginal from 1-100. Overall this packs a huge punch for the price.

    • @guerrillaradio9953
      @guerrillaradio9953 Před 5 měsíci

      Three years on, and I'm still overall happy with it, with a few complaints. The overall ease of "nearly immediately being able to find very thick, useable sounds in a live setting or just to try out a new idea in my head" is VERY much the strong suit of this board. The only issues I've had have been the analog pots becoming unstable and which after cleaning, are the typical modern pots which even fader safe deoxit strips the grease out and they feel like they're worth 0.01 cents. I don't appreciate that kind of cost cutting on a piece of gear in this price range. The clicky buttons to navigate the menus and shift octaves have to be pressed harder and harder to get a response now. No excuse for that in only 3 years on a nearly $3K instrument. I still am overall happy with it, and won't be selling it, but I still feel like it's an overpriced modern Roland.@@BinuralOdyssey

    • @djdarksidejungle559

      no its not wavestate is better it depends on what you want really if you like 90s analog and a fight trying to get anything that resembles a modern 21st century synth then i would get one if ya want something that rocks and inspire you to play and make some music rather then having a fight with ya gear then get a wavestate its a lot more in depth but the results are top notch theres a few things that are annoying about the wavestate and wave sequencing can be and is confusing and a couple of other annoyances but its the best synth of 2020 the wavestate hydra did win but thats only because the analog guys are still in a small majority but for 2500 i'd steer clear mate if ya got that kind of money get a kronos or a montage and ave yaself the dissapointment of having this

    i wouldn't buy one nah not for me had a play round with one and lets just say if this is rolands flagship synth of 2020 2021 is the year they go bust again and some other hedge fund will take over them and just do what they've been doing since at least 2015 producing mediorce nostalgia products for that jupiter x has some of the worst presets ever to insult a synthesizer put on them on a par with the jd-xa for bad sounds and nigh on impossible to get anything beyond a 90s sounding synth thats analog for me no thanks if this is best roland can do then their gone i know people who bought it and regretted it and wished they hadn't for 1200 maybe its worth a punt but not 2500 may as well just get a montage and if ya want roland nostalgia just buy roland cloud and save yaself the disappointment that lies in store for you with this synth
    my main hates are the nostalgia and riding on the back of this jupiter 8 thing and every sound of every roland synth in one synth why just why then the laughable zen core whish is just supernatrual with a few more filters thrown in but basically supernatrual nothing wrong with supernatrual and thats where roland innovation ended unfortunately and just revamped it called it zen core
    the other ones they play along and it adapts to the style you play in i got a 50 quid yamaha keyboard that does that so that nothing new really just they called the backing band ya get i arpeggio yeah course and the sounds are just well just a library of yet more and loads more classic roland sounds and thats ok if it was just one synth ya made with every sound ya ever made on every synth they ever made but no its just banks of rubbish at least on the jupiter 80/50 the sound banks were actually very good and had a lot of good sounds in there and could really get deep into easy on the fly sound making
    as you can prob gether i don't like this synth or for that matter any roland products these days just a company out of ideas and just produces nostalgia products and just think people are gonna go wow roland lets buy that and its got every sound of every roland synth
    they'll sell a few and ya die hard roland guys will buy it but its 2021 not 1998
