Pretty Boy Floyd is from Michigan. Back in the 60s and 70s the auto industry provided a very good living and a house cost 20k or so. These guys had alot of disposable income. There was a ton of money floating around the midwest pool scene back then.

A few people have pointed out that Jimmy cast his pool expert wife as an extra lol.
I think it’s even stranger he included her billing and bio on the box considering when you look at it, she’s not technically “featured”. More like, she was “there when they shot it”.

I still think that’s such a interesting move. Casts his wife (who is arguably just as talented a pool player as he is) as an extra, sits her in the darkness in the background, then gives her top billing to sell the tape. I figured she’d have a segment in this!

Unfortunately pool hustling is a very dangerous prospect. Most top pros that were hustlers before generally have a bad story to tell. Such is a knife to the throat done to the head, Left for Dead type stuff. The lucky ones jumped out of a bathroom window or made an escape somehow.

Pool Hustling as portrayed here is not really a thing these days. There are so many strong unknowns playing over a 700 fargo these days, its just guys gambling at this point.

@@tapegoat fargo rate is a global ranking system for pool players ( like a batting average)There are usually only a handful per region that play over a 700 speed if there is more than one at all. I'm not understanding the joke you are making and I apologize. I have never "hustled" pool however between 18-25 I paid my bills and bought cars with the money from the pool table.
