    Someone should check on Tiger Pat. He's usually here by now.

    I’m definitely excited about Oregon Fruit Co. I was impressed with the samples I tried at their booth. Glad you started out with them! Also… strawberry brew experiments are in the future. Some hefty claims there.

      Yeah, Chris’s energy was infectious, and I knew I had to feature him first!

      Cheers! It was some of the most difficult travel I’ve had in a long, long time, but I think it was worth the experience.

    The pictures of the cans really makes me nostalgic for the PNW. Definitely an amazing region for exploring craft cider. Had the benefit to try a lot of the ones i saw you record.

    Is this the start to the DtM Cider story arc? I'm all for it. Also buy the book.

    I'm glad you focused on the homebrew content. I'm considering going to Cidercon next year, but you're right, it is heavily industry focused and very expensive.

      In my feedback survey, I offered to volunteer my input around how they could make it more accessible to homebrewers. I think in a normal year where the event wasn’t impacted so bad by weather, there are a lot of opportunities to have cider-centric content that appeals to the small scale cider maker!

      Thanks! Not necessarily the footage I thought I was gonna get while I was there, but I was glad to get some interesting stuff that was relevant to the community. 🍻

    I'm not sure American Cider Association pretends to be anything other than a trade association for professional cideries to advance the market & industry as a whole. Sure it would be great to have a cider show aimed at the homebrewer but that's not the basis of what CiderCon is. Maybe not a great match here.

      Honestly I think the cider industry is dying, and encouraging more home brewers would be great.

    • @DointheMost
      @DointheMost  Před 7 měsíci

      No reason it can’t transform into something more relevant. 🤞

      @@DointheMost relevance is relative😇. I understand what your saying but ACA is a professional advocate organization. What's relevant to the homebrewer is not necessarily applicable to the resources for industry pros in scale & production methods [as evidenced in the interviews]. There's plenty of homebrew groups & associations that can target this channel's core audience. Like I wouldn't expect the Napa Valley chamber of commerce to sponsor home winemaking kits just to get me interested in wine.

    I love this video. I love that cider Con wasn't what you were expecting but you carried on. I live in Tacoma and will definitely check out Oregon fruit. The future of homebrewing as it relates is canning is exciting. I always felt canning on a homebrew level was fairy impractical. Sorry it wasnt what you were expecting but its still good information. Thanks for your work.

      Yeah, after seeing Man Made Mead’s canning set up, I was definitely tempted. But I just don’t have the storage space to keep a can seamer and cans on hand. The affordability of custom printed cans sure does add to the temptation, though…

    That is great you got a media pass because it definitely was more expensive then most homebrewer's could afford. I loved listening to the people talking about this fruit additives.
