    I worked for a Hustler dealer back in the late 1970s assembling and testing brand new commercial mowers. I remember the T handle steering on these mowers. Back then they had Kohler twin cylinder K engines.

    Thanks for the review. I just bought one second hand with only 20 hours on it in excellent condition. Runs and cuts well for what I needed.

    The height adjust is weird compared to Hustlers I have used.🤔

      I thought it was weird compared to other mowers I have used as well. Atleast it works! Thanks for stopping in

    those stamped valve covers don't have gaskets...you have to use RTV sealant. But I know on the courage line you can buy composite valve covers that have an actual gasket. IMO they are less likely to leak, and if you ever have to get at the rockers you can do so without having to scrap off sealant and screw around with putting new sealant on them. I'd bet that composite covers are available for the 7000 series as well.

      Yea, I meant to say new gasket material. The dealer did say if it happens again there are gaskets avalible to put on them. Apparently they said hustler/ Kohler is aware of the "issue" Thanks for watching.

    I now have a Raptor SD. I've had 3 hustler ZTRs in recent years. They get worse with every new model. Had the brackets replace, cracked fenders, deck vibration noise etc etc, etc. I have found that Hustler will work with you until they decide not to. My case was escalated to Nick (Sr. product representative). After another failed attempt at a repair, nick would not return any phone calls. The case was escalated to the next level (Ken Coker). Ken provides nothing more than lip service. He did call me once. When I provided video proof of the complaint, he failed to ever contact me again. The mower is still under warranty, the dealer will not do anything more and tells me that Hustler will not do anything more. I would never touch another Hustler mower ever. They will not honor the warranty if it is not a very simple problem. Either they don't know, or don't care about fixing a customer's mower.

    I guess you have a mainly flat property, we have plenty of slopes and soft terraces. Would the Hustler slip on a 10% or greater grassy slope?

    • @k6outdoors
      @k6outdoors  Před 2 lety

      You are correct, our property is pretty flat. I beleive the manual states that it can operate on slopes up to 15 degrees of slope. I hope this helps

    • @paigeheagerty8062
      @paigeheagerty8062 Před 2 lety

      @@k6outdoors It does help, however, I may have to go tractor because after checking the area in question, the slope is much greater than 15%, could be close to 30%. Albeit only about 10 to 15 ft of elevation but its a significant part of the property.

    • @k6outdoors
      @k6outdoors  Před 2 lety

      @@paigeheagerty8062 i should also say that driving lengthwise on the slope (transversing the slope)

    • @paigeheagerty8062
      @paigeheagerty8062 Před 2 lety +1

      @@k6outdoors So, I went out and did some math, my slope is 22.92 degrees, calculated from 5.5 ft elevation at a 24ft run. The length of this is approximant 80ft - 90 ft. I have some research to do....

    Good video. Some observations if I may.
    Go check out my videos for the resolutions to many of your complaints. Adjust the enforcement bar so that the top of it is below the top surface of your blade. Clipping will then be thrown over the bar. The remainder of the bar will help maintain some safety as well as be more than plenty support for the front of your mower deck edge from being bent inward to the blade.
    Also, I noticed the right front deck bolt is slightly loose meaning it isn't carrying it's share of deck weight. Also means the deck isn't perfectly level.
    Tires are over inflated wearing the centers on the rear as well as on the front. Lower your pressures until the tires are carrying the mower and rider weight completely across the tread. On that particular brand of tires, you should be able to lower your pressures to 8 pounds and the ride will be so much better. Front tires can easily run at 8 to 9 pounds and do you a good job.
    The letter decal was changed to that because Excel Industries was sued because some idiot claimed the grass wasn't exactly the same length as the numeric setting.
    You will love Flex Forks and a Suspension Seat.
    Check all your wheel motor brackets monthly. Make sure they are never allowed to become loose.
    Do the MGM Belt Cover Porting to help save your spindle bearings from debris build up holding moisture as well as keeping the deck from rusting.
    Keep up the good work.
    Max
