    Huge bonus, that noone has mentioned is the cleanup affect. If you didn't add a single effect, and only removed the crap you don't use, that's a huge improvement for this little pedal. I'm definitely going to look up some info about this pedal now. If the effects are good quality, I'm in.

      @malcolmbagiu7986 Před 2 lety +1

      Indeed it is good for cleaning up the stuff you don't need
      My zoom G1XON is now basically a Zoom MS-70CDR
      Downside is I can't assign any of the effects to the expression pedal to control any parameters (not that I needed to but just for additional info)
      And also I can't use too many of the effects from the MS-70CDR at once as it takes a huge chunk of processing power
      But now I have access to cool sounds and just use the volume pedal to create ambient stuff.

Because I tried hooking up my Zoom G1xon to three different synths and got really harsh buzzing, making that Zoom pedal unusable with synths. Except for maybe reverbs and delays.

    Thanks ! Just added some fx to my G1Xon which was already a great pedal.
    Edit : I found out there is a downside to this hack/update:
    Some fx can no longer be adjusted with the expression pedal on my G1Xon.
    Before, I could, for instance, use the expression pedal to change the mix amount of the Particle Reverb, the delaytime of the Carbon Delay or the depth of the Super Chorus.
    When I select the parameter I want to use with the expression pedal in the Patch Settings it says "None" for some pedals now after using the fx manager.
    Anyone found a solution for this?
    Having the extra fx is great but maybe I'll change back to the factory settings so I can use the expression pedal again like I did before.
    Edit: I tried to change back to the G1Xon factory settings using the official Zoom 2020 updater from their site but it doesn’t work. It says " illegal device connected"
    Found an older Zoom updater from 2016 (same version v1.21) on my old computer and that one works. Guess Zoom knows about the hack and updated their software to recognize it as an illegal device.

    I put some MS60B amp sims on my MS50G and none of the existing Windows hack apps allows you to adjust the newly installed effects, so you must manually using the buttons select the new effects you install, but you can't see anything in the Windows apps except default effects. Oddly if you select them they show up as line thru. If you have a rogue effect inputed via firmware hack, it also won't show up as anything but line thru.

    Just get a MS-50G. The mono input isn't really a disadvantage. People seem to think the MS-70CDR is for synths or more professional use but they are identical inside. They say the 70CDR has more CPU power but I haven't struck run out of CPU power in chains of 5 or 6 effects yet.

    Hi there! Greeting from Panama and thanks for your 'hacked' video. It is so funny. I just got the Zoom MS-70CDR and did exactly what you did. I selected a few effects from the other pedals and so I got them into my unit. However, all of the original patches from my Zoom unit were erased! Fortunately, I got them back updating my firmware again (2.10 version). Is there any way to get other effects without erasing the original pedal patches? Thanks in advance for your reply. Best,
