As a young Nigerian boy in the early 90s, my dad was a management consultant whose work often made him travel across different African capital cities. After his first trip to Harare, he returned and started telling his friends that he rented a taxi to take him around Harare for a whole day. He was looking for potholes, and he found none. That got me intrigued as young teenager. I also had a neighbour that was an athlete that participated in the all African games in Harare in the 90s, and he reported that Harare was the most beautiful city in Africa back then. I am glad more people are discovering the beauty of this country via this platform.
Yes they were no potholes then in the 90s . Things started deteriorating approximately 2008 up to now.
There are a few potholes now, but all roads in the country are being redone now
@@mticha9566 the roads are being refurbished. Slowly but surely.
I remember going on a family holiday as a kid to Zambia in the early 90s and my dad complaining about the potholes. The crisis certainly humbled us in Zim. There seems to be a huge drive over the last couple of years to repair the country. There are roads being repaired and built everywhere I drive.
We are constantly being lied to about Africa by the western media.
Thanks for showing another side to the world.
I suggest a collaboration with ACE from Miami. He is an Haitian American brother who is showing a different side of some countries.
I am a Zimbabwean in the UK for 20 years now. I shed tears watching this video. Tears of joy, and the sorrow of being away from my motherland for so long. Looking forward to moving back home over the coming year, my mind is made up! My spirit never left Zimbabwe. Thanks for showing Africa to all of us Wode Maya. Africa is a superpower and we will rise.
Sure Africa is a super power and it will rise
Don't cry brother Kenya and the rest of Afrika got your back. For your information we have both the Shona and Ndebele people that came to Kenya during the struggle for independence and have officially been recognized as Kenyans. Let us fight together to remove all these colonial borders so that our country "Afrika" can be from coast to coast. Let us all learn our lingua franca of Kiswahili so that we can speak to one another in non colonial language. "Pamoja milele, Asante sana."

This is the best tourism video produced for Zimbabwe since 1990.
When I hear the national anthem I feel goosebumps. Zimbabwe is an underrated country it's high time Zimbabweans fix their country WE CAN DO THIS UNITED WE STAND
I feel like Zimbabwe and African countries have the potential to reach a 1st world status like China Japan Korea. One thing that’s holding us back is our greedy selfish leaders tribalism etc. Zimbabwe Zambia share almost the same similarities like both countries should merge together.
Wode- what you are doing is simply amazing. You have showcased Zimbabwe better than any multi-million dollar marketing campaign would be able to do. We all owe you, as Africans, such a massive debt of gratitude for telling our story. You deserve every accolade that comes your way and much more-Africa to the world.
The killer part is when he met a brother resident from the state of drc.. he asked how he is and the response said it all ..he said we are...that means wherever we can find peace in africa we all can easily live together..that's the beauty of Africa

The BEST Part of this Video was when President Mugabe said “WE HAVE FOUGHT FOR OUR LAND, WE HAVE FOUGHT FOR OUR SOVEREIGNTY, AND WE ARE PREPARED TO SHED OUR BLOOD🩸 IN SUSTENANCE FOR THIS SOVEREIGNTY”…. as a Nigerian this brings tear to my eyes and it is TRUTH FACTS. Zimbabweans are no Cowards.
ALLUTA CONTINUA!!!!!!
not cowards? yu have no idea watchu talking about. they shed blood of our own
It is true and boy are we being made to suffer as a consequence. They want to destroy us like they did Haiti after the Haitians broke their chains.
Sadly though, Mugabe should've looked after his people. He & his cohorts fought for privileges shared amongst themselves whilst the people suffered, millions who had to leave Zimbabwe to eke out a living in the diaspora to support their families left behind AND ironically, these brave diasporans are working in Colonial UK & it's satellites to remit monies to their families in Zimbabwe. FACT.😉

@@WODEMAYA THOSE ARE JUST HIGH RISE BUILDINGS MADE FROM CONCRETE AND GLASS.
WHAT REALLY MAKE A COUNTRY IN TOP SHAPE IS A GOOD SYSTEM, NOT PRETTY PAINTED BUILDINGS.
GOOD ELECTRICITY SYSTEM, GOOD HEALTH SYSTEM, PROPER GARBAGE COLLECTION,
GOOD WATER SYSTEM, GOOD EDUCATION SYSTEM, GOOD HEALTH SYSTEM, ,
VERY GOOD HEALTH SYSTEM, GOOD SECURITY SYSTEM,
LOW HOMICIDE RATE, GOOD TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM, GOOD FARMING INDUSTRY, HIGH EXPORT MARKET,
STRONG NATIONAL CURRENCY, GOOD ROAD SYSTEM THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY,
LOW CORRUPTION, AND LOW COST OF LIVING.
In unity their is strength. Other African countries need to stand with Zimbabwe and tell the west lift the sanctions. Having one African currency would also help as it would be difficult for the west to stop trade on the continent by sanctioning individual countries.

Mugabe and his gvt did a great job on that!
Unfortunately many roads, streets still named after people like like Queen Elizabeth, his son Charles, daughter princess Anna etc and worst of all all Leopold who plundered the Congo. We forget our great ancestors like Kabalega of Uganda, Shaka etc

@@paulinedavis8893 Do you know what though.....My daughters mother is from here in Ghana. What makes me so sad about the other half of their heritage is that I've now been here long enough to really get to know Ghana. I am in daily disbelief in the under-utilisation of the opportunity to grow here. The road system disappoints me before the state of the roads even does. If we in Zim had HALF the stability economically that is here, we would surely be sitting ahead of Rwanda. The town planning, the need to know someone for everything that there is a system in place for, the deep levels of organised corruption that makes ours in Zim seem like childs' play.......sigh.....in short what Ghana is, it shouldn't be, if Zimbabwe is a Yard stick. Finally.....when I finally visited the resting place for Kwame Nkruma........I CRIED at the state of the place. Wode Maya's work is much more important than just showing how dope Africa is....its in how its waking up people from this state of perpetual "okayness" with the way things are. Zimbabwe wasn't hidden....we just forgot how special we were. I know...because I was just back for a month trying to convince my brethren that we truly were a gem in a forest.....but we could become what everyone outside sees us as if we don't rise to the challenge of leading ourselves. I want to summarise like this: Zimbabwe's condition of infrustructure and development should be the lowest we ever allow an African country to be, so a country like Ghana (my brothers and sisters) let your roads surpass ours, let your buildings get completed without major litigation and cheating....even East Legon should surpass Borrowdale....we look up to you so much....but you are looking like a jobless 50year brother living in your parents house and who is difficult to respect. Ghana can really do it...your leaders need to be Wode Mayas biggest fan and watch what he is showing you...the man has no opinion...he is just giving us pictures and forcing us to decide what we want!
As a Zimbabwean living in South Africa,I just got a moment of happiness after viewing the comment section and noticed good comments about our city from fellow African Brothers and sisters, honestly it relieved me a bit from the pains of living in countries where you are always undermined only because you are a Zimbabwean,at least people have also noticed that there is also something good in our country except the economic recession that has driven the majority of us outside borders.Harare is beautiful and Africa is amazing having combined all these beautiful cities in it.
My brother do not despair we know why and how members of NATO are out to wreck havoc on other countries economies by using their financially controlled institutions like IMF, world Bank, Bretton woods and many others and of course the West's arm twisting economic sanctions. No matter what they do Afrika shall shine and in the end we shall sing the freedom song, "Free at last! Amandla! Amandla! Tuko pamoja milele!"
Yeah we must love yourselves bro
@Nyasha - Noone is undermining you in South Africa. Zimbabweans undermine themselves, trashing their country at every opportunity. Actually no country is PanAfrican like South Africa, you were given 200,000 Exemption Permits to stay in SA but still you don't appreciate. It's very typical of Zimbabweans to complain just about anything even in foreign countries. Blame yourselves for destroying your country.
@@Accuface2000 That's is their experience, how dare you say it's not so? Are you saying their senses are rigged somehow and that you can tell them what their actual experience is better than they can? The nerve of you!!
@Essential Oil Diffusers - You must appreciate what the hosts do for you when you are a visitor. The government of South Africa has been kind to Zimbabweans, granting them with 10 year Exemption Permits, but they are insulting and protesting, taking the government to court, something which they can't do back home. How you are treated by the community is something else, but you should appreciate what the government treats you. If America, China or France gives me a permit, I shouldn't expect them to like me. Just because you are mistreated by citizens doesn't mean you should blame the country. Be thankful that the government gave you a Permit or else leave and go somewhere. Americans get mistreated in China. The Chinese and Africans get mistreated in the USA. But I have never seen Americans and the Chinese making a huge fuss about it. Zimbabweans, you like whining about everything.

Africa is destined to lead the world!!!!
Greetings from Morocco!
This video made me emotional. The country looks beautiful, I know they are economic challenges there, but please Zimbabweans unite and start speaking positive and spreading positive about your country. Wide Maya has started it for you
💯💯💯
Well said,
✨👌🏾 💯
True that, Zimbos need to speak positively about our country. Thanks to our african brothers and sisters for telling a different story about our country. It was started by the African Tigress
Colonisers will never forgive Zim for taking the land. They exploit those minor differences to the fullest
The lady who didn't know what to say, your smile nd joy about our country said a thousand words. That is who we are as Zimbabweans, smiling, loving nd caring people
I am a Zimbabwean living in SA. I had tears in my eyes when i heard the National anthem, Reminds me of how sweet fellow Zimbabweans are, Harmless and Welcoming, and i came to SA with the excitement of travelling to another country for different experiences and back home we treat foreigners like brothers and sisters and expected the same treatment or thought we are all an African Continent 😭😢. I find myself preaching love to people around me fellow Africans, Zimbabweans are a rare breed that through circumstances find themselves asking why Humanity is not practised everywhere around the world.

Three Zimbabweans were arrested in Johannesburg after being found in possession of blasting cartridges and explosives. 11 August 2022, a 20year old woman is also a terrorist amongst the 3. Mmm 😔
Woow all other Africans complaining about South Africans . Whats wrong with those guys???????
Well said❤❤❤ Zimbabweans are a rare breed indeed
@@kollegs101 what do u want from them? Why can't you leave them in peace???
I love Zimbabwe they're Pan-Africanist ! Love from Rwanda
I have been to many Africa countries, I never thought of going to Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 because of what I read about the country, but what am seeing now is a whole difference..... I’m super proud of you Zimbabwe🎉.... I’m definitely coming for a tour😍
Please do visit Zim
Come come to Zimbabwe
Perception, and view should not be part of your day thinking. Don't believe everything you read and ear.
Don't tell me that this is the first CZcams video you seeing showing the good side of Zimbabwe
Zim is so hospitable wen it comes to handling foreigners
This has been your best production so far. So good that it cannot be matched. World class and award winning documentary. I am from Zimbabwe and have never seen any good video about Zimbabwe, Harare like this.
Please dont forget to interview Tinashe Mutarisi of Nash Paints. Thats an incredible Zimbabwean story.
Oh my, I love the Zim.
They are really patriotic Africans.
OneLuv from Bamenda, Cameroon.
Zimbabweans living in other countries must start adopting patriotism towards their country. It doesn't do them any good to go to other countries and not have positive things to say about their own country...
There is a reason why they called it,The Great Zimbabwe. This is the engine of Africa. All those sanctions on this great country are killing the economy but these folks are resilient. I love you brothers and sisters.
If sanctions destroy any country it needs to be destroyed. Those sanctions only forbid trade with Whites. Why would any African country want to trade with Whites. Africans need to unite and stop worrying about Whites and their trade.
Very true with 22 years of sanctions we are here Zimbabwe the Lord himself fighting for us.
Thanks, Wode for showing Zimbabwe to the World. I'm a Congolese but I sincerely love Zimbabwe which I have visited a few times. That Land will rise. It is written and it shall come to pass
Amen
Am a Zimbabwean living in SA ...i met a Congolese brother last week and i was amazed to hear him say most of his businesses are in Zim he comes to SA only for stocking...✌️♥️♥️
@@destinybridalslounge1623 Zimbabwe is a Land of Destiny....the Soul of Southern Africa. I BELIEVE in Zimbabwe. My brothers and sisters of ZIM have suffered enough.....🙏The Shift will take place
I am watching from Trinidad an Tobago In the WEST INDIES
I too had a negative Image of.ZIM thanks for this Documentary The press is very wicked they only show the negative Images, once again Thank you.
@@jean-didiert2175 Amen we pray and hope for the change in our country ..
Comment section made me cry, Am a Zimbabwean living in SA so reading comments from Specifically South Africans complimenting Zim was a bit unbelievable,Yes Zimbabwe is a beautiful country and I can't wait to visit soon ...In Zimbabwe every African is welcome ,no discrimination at all..
Don't visit go stay, that's home.
As a Zimbabwean I started hearing and getting used to this word , 'foreigner' in South Africa. In Zim there are a lot of Zambians, Malawians, Mozambicans but we're never referred to as foreigners, in Zim we grew up loving our brothers and sisters from other countries. You would just love associating yourself with them.
@@blessedblessed3474 that's weird because it was your former president Mugabe who told South Africans that they need to fight their battles themselves and not not Zimbabweas problem, it's a public speech he made, you can research it. Now Zimbabweans are out here making themselves look like saints because the tide has turned and their problems are everybody else's ,it's laughable really. You Zimbabweans are a funny bunch.

I don't usually comment on social media, but l have no choice because l was having goosebumps watching the video. Thank you so much my African brother for Marketing my country, a lot of negativity fueled by Propaganda has been said on different platforms across the world to make Zimbabwe look like an inhabitable country, but thank God you are showing the world how Hospitable, Accomodating, Friendly and Welcoming Zimbabwe is. I hope your Documentary gets recognized and gets an Award.

That's why we shouldn't believe every negative things social media put out there. Seeing this from Wode Maya’s lens, I can say Harare, is very beautiful and well organized. The parking places in the busy business center is very cool as compared to Accra-Ghana. This video is going to catapult Wode Maya to a different height. Africa to the world 🌍
Africa to the World 🌎
Massa how can you make that comparison, unless we start building new cities alone the pokuase and achimota interchange lol... This is what we call travel and see, these politicians have been fooling most people for long with over budgeted substandard contracts...
@@WODEMAYA Hi Wode, there is a retired Nurse who moved back to Zim from the US. Can you visit her if I give you her details..
@@myztroogeegibson3568 well sometimes we got to make such comparison to know where we are. The Pokuase interchange already needs maintenances works.
It is indeed positively shocking to see the infrastructural advancement of Zim ( Harere ) to that of our FILTY Accra with Kiosks and chaos everywhere,,,
Thanks Wode Maya for this expose,,,
