- Thanks for watching, Squid fishing, shallow reef, we chase daytime Tigers. Tiger squid come on in the cooler months on the eastern side of the peninsula. Great fun and excellent eating.

Such a beautiful morning and a great session

That deck you built working well..
Sure is.
Yep. Great video. You both make it look easy. Nice work!
there are always challenges
Well done Wayne!!
Thanks Will
Brilliant!
Thanks
Thank u for choosing Okuma fishing gear, which is made in my country Taiwan. Happy fishing mate.
Thanks
Hey mate I moved to the redcliff area about 3 months ago and just bought my first ever boat just wondering where that boat ramp is
The two main ramps are Scarborough and Pelican Park Clontarf. I mostly fish the Scarborough end for squid. In the cooler months
Good boat
Thanks
Hi sir are there places to chase squid on daytime landbased?
Thank you
Better at night but all the same areas will produce during daylight. Just less of them
Definitely keen to catch some squid
Really is awesome fun
Looked like a good morning well done guys keep up the good work
Thanks Darren.
Wayne , line size mate 10 braid, a bit heavy.?
Wasn’t dedicated to squid. Was a explore day. Could have chased just about anything.

Thanks William
No idea there were squid there! Just in front of my sisters place!
Great spot
What a top day Wayne, were you guy's fishing the run up tide this day ?
the new boat is perfect for the Redcliffe area, just wondering what is the best time for the squid.
LOVE THE VIDEOS , keep up the good work, Cheers
Land based in the high tide is better but from a boat it doesn’t matter as much
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing Hi Wayne, i know that ramp gets quite shallow at low tide. cheers
Great vid, I was thinking about going squid fishing tomorrow and I was wondering where the best land based spots around Redcliffe were. If you could help that would be very useful. Cheers 👍
High tide is better and if you’re land based then work the rock walls from Redcliffe to Scarborough. Also have a video with squid spots.
Cheers mate and tight lines 🎣
@@archiesinfield9333 you too.
hmm.. I still haven't caught a squid
which cove are u at?
i guess high tide is best over that shallow reef?
Great Video Wayne, will definitely have to get into it this winter. What’s your recommendations for line & leader?? Similar to Flattie specs?? Like 8IB braid & 12 IB Leader? Cheers Wayne
I use between 6 and 12 lb leader. Depends on where I’m fishing
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing Cheers Wayne, I guess, heavier Leader on the more expensive Jigs😁 Let’s hope for a break in the weather so the BFE can get active 👍🏼
@@markhill566 not always but sometimes. also use heavier leader in areas that are unfamiliar. If I'm fishing my regular spots, I know where most of the snags are. Can use lighter leader when you know the spot well.
Well done another great video, random question when catching squid do you ever use bait on a squid spike? maybe floating out the back whilst casting your other lures?
No I haven’t. Years ago that was the only way I did it.
Great video Wayne. Definately keen to give this a go. The last squid I caught was in WA! Where about's would you suggest off of Redcliffe? Me and my old man are beginners
If you’re land based I suggest the rock and all at high tide between the Redcliffe Jetti and the pool.
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing awesome and what about boat based?
Mate where did you put the boat in ?
That’s Queens Beach Scarborough.
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing nice thanks
I'm only new to backing the boat trailer in 😂 looks like theirs plenty of room for me 😂😁😂
Was that low tide ?
It’s not a bad ramp. Parking issues on weekends and difficult putting the tub back on the trailer in a strong SE
eaggh im on
Love those words
Good video. If you dont mind me asking What kind of scent are you using on your jigs?
ProCure Squid jig scent, pilchard flavour
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing do you know where i would be able get it from?
Is this spot accessible via land base at redcliffe I did notice redcliffe whale watching jetty however is the other spot the other side of scarbourgh beach? Thanks for video super keen to get out and have a flick
Yep. It is
@@Wayne.Groomes.Fishing legend thanks very much I will have to have a flick ive never done squid fishing however ive bought a few jigs
