As a Generator guy I can say that the speed of the motor is directly relatade to the frequency of the AC. You should set it's speed based at the nominal 60 Hz (probably 3.600 RPM for these little guy). The tension could be adjusted at the voltage regulator once you have the correct frequency/RPM.
I don't know if you know this , you can 2d print rubber gaskets with some tpu's and probably other parts with other filiments that can handle the heat. I appreciate when people fix stuff instead of throwing it out. it's so wasteful . great job
Some people can't even turn a screw the right way, so if the fuel tank & carb were clogged because they left water logged E10 fuel in their without stabilizer for 4 years & then tried to start it as rusty varnish was clogging the carb // and could not get it to work, so to the junk yard! Honda makes the finest generators that are the longest lasting, so you rebuilt to working shows how well they are made!
Good video freind. Learned a few new things. I recently picked up a gen. like the one on your video, cleaned up the carb real good. Will run if I spray a little ether in carb but won't run continue to run. It's getting gas. Not being as mechanically inclined as you are I am stuck, not knowing what to do now. Any advice? Thx. in advance.
Have you thoroughly inspected the carb? I would look at the orifices and make sure they don't look gummed up. Even if they do look fine, might as well soak them in carb cleaner while you have it apart. I would also check all the seals in the carb make sure there isn't a nick in the o ring or anything. generally if it'll start but not continue to run, it's a carb issue. good luck man!
Oh cool, you have a video on a EX1000 rescue. I just brought one back like a sentimental idiot. My first generator was one and last I used was to power a custom computer PSU I connected all the 12V rails together, added a 50A fuse and installed banana connectors on the outside case so could clamp my trolling motor to. Anyways, this one didn't come with a recoil starter or out cover over that. Has a cup, so will see what recoil starter I can rig to since doesn't look like just yet anyone carries specifically. I'm sure if I remove the cup and use something else with some sort of adaption will do.
"You can't just pawn this off on the next guy, because the next guy is you, and you're a fucking idiot."
Truer words were never spoken!

hallo kunt u mij vertellen hoe de spanningsregelaar er uit ziet hij geeft te veel stroom kan hem niet vinden
Nice. Considering what they cost new, seems worth repairing. Ppl throw anything away it seems.

Oh yeah and that first generator was in my F150 that got stolen in Utah. Talk about crankhead cities and their extreme gay cop heads.
