BTW if you seek a bigger lithium battery, or you replace the 12V utility battery, a couple years back I stumbled upon this Lithium ion Phosphate battery for an extremely reasonable price that meets your “only requirement of cheapness“ (as you noted and made me laugh). I have had zero issues after two years using 2, 100Ah batteries to power a custom telescope rig I built that happily performs in the Texas 100F+ Summers and the just cold enough to damage some lithium batteries except these. I just checked Amazon, out of curiosity, and they are still offering discounts; so for example, if you wanted to go beast mode you can get a 200Ah LifePo4 low temperature rated (I see your in the cold part of the states) in a single battery package for only $450 (as of today, July the 7th,. Price is lowered by a $30 Amazon discount and another 10% discount which depending on how they apply there discounts varies somewhat, but very pleasing nonetheless. When I initially found the battery, the only “issue” I had, that is until I gained trust through usage, is that the battery name fails to evokes trust, power, longevity, and other qualities one might demand out of any battery. They are called “Redodo” LMAO (BTW: the high frequency of poorly chosen product names on Amazon. Is said to be the fault of Amazon and their way to weed out scam products by requiring a copyright and by selecting a crazy name, it’s unlikely that anyone else would be dumb enough to use it and thus avoid name collisions with another company once the trademark attorney performed the search. Combine that name with the rainbow colors they wrapped them in, and I’m lucky they didn’t explode on first use. Should you ever want to ook at their always affordable Lifpwnproduct lineup just search for “Redodo” Then different types and sizes. They hold a charge that seems to defy the expected leak rate. i may be wrong but wondering if this will work much better if you use a much wider diameter tube with shorter length to have a larger lasing medium and of course the mirrors need to be bigger but it may make alignment a breeze and for it to work much easier putting out more power the beam will be bigger but then its only a matter of using a reverse beam expander lens setup to create a tighter smaller more powerful beam output for cutting, seen large setups like that at a science center where they burned my name into a wooden piece of planck using the laser it was so fast and neat all done by hand with someone holding the board at the output end to etch my name in it, actually that lady was pretty skilled to have been able to do it that fast with a cw laser output all while getting my name right and quite legible lol good hand eye coordination

As someone pursuing a mechanical engineering degree, i can only say that your work is marvellous. I am currently working on my bachelor thesis regarding automating a welding device capable of MIG and TIG for WAAM. Your project has helped me more than 90% of the papers i have read so far. The setup works very well, you could even do research with it. Im thankfull for the aid it gives me and hope you might make a comeback with the project. It is awesome!

Love it, excited for Mk II! I feel like, maybe don't start with a clapped out blower, I feel like you got the chops to do it from scratch! That said, it can't be an easy problem, I think there's at least one failed company that's been attempting to do this for years. To get a view down into the crucible without risking expensive cameras, you could probably use a mirror. Holding a hand mirror over the crucible, you could film the reflection and stay clear of the heat. Do you have a lot of interesting skills it’s funny how either of you are to try a project That you just jump in like Robin Hood. With a little swashbuckling, you save the day. Tally-ho! PS, when you burninate, what will you do with those ingots? And how hot can it get? I mean, what can it melt?
