Strychnine was the deathcore album, used to be into Aborted, even had a signed copy of Goremageddon, but yea the people they have had in the band, specifically the Mendel guy and just any recent guy, have been from deathcore and metalcore bands. Recent albums sound like modern metal and deathcore, but with reference to old school rather than being old school.

Idk, man. Varg said many times he is not into metal, and it's like boogie woogie or something like that. It doesn't discount the man's musical genius and his contributions to the genre. It's like if Dawg said he doesn't like metal but people will still buy from HHR regardless even though Dawg had the contribution of being the middle man and selling me something he got from somewhere else and just raised the price a little so he can buy some more juice and a gym membership. That's almost the same thing.

Yeah,still have mine in storage...used to buy a cassette for the car and a CD for home....now I only buy CDs and can only hear them at home...miss car CD players...
I only bought tapes back then, I was stubborn and didn't start getting cds until later on. Wasn't very wise for the long term. Tapes got all messed up and long gone.

I saw Aborted live with Archspire and two other deathcore bands, Alluvial and Carcosa. Probably the most disappointing and wack metal show I've ever been to in my life.
I was looking forward to seeing Aborted because I enjoyed their last few albums, but I just didn't enjoy myself. I didn't expect them to play any old, old stuff, but I, at least, wanted to hear stuff from Global Flatline or The Necrotic Manifesto. Nothing. Plus, they were doing these comedy banter bits between songs, which felt a bit awkward. I don't wanna talk about Archspire. I just didn't like them because most techdeath bores me to tears.

Decapitated, Decrepit Birth, Gorguts, Necrophagist, Brain Drill, Inferi, Fallujah, Archspire, and a bunch of others out there - does nothing for me. The style just bores me.
