In this video we look at the entire timeline of Homer Simpson. We look at Homer Simpson's entire life story, his history and future. Taking a look at the Simpsons flashback episodes, as well as the future episodes, I've put Homer's life in chronological order. From season 1 to The Simpsons season 32.
Putting the future Simpsons episodes in order, like Lisa's Wedding, Bart to the Future, Holidays of Future Passed, and Barthood. We look how Homer and Marge met, and how old is Homer Simpson?

I just realised that Lisa and Maggie's interest in music might've came from Homer. And Lisa's many accomplishments in short periods of time and her general free spirit is also similar to what we've seen Homer's past. And finally the fact that Homer is actually revealed to be a natural genius if not for the crayons stuck in his head. My point is that they actually do have quite a lot of things in common and this might contribute to their close relationship.

It’s interesting that the character development of Homer and Grandpa Simpson is very deep and psychological especially how grandpa’s actions reflect off of Homer, which is just amazing.

Some people see the Simpsons as a dysfunctional family. I don't think of them that way. They aren't perfect, but they do love one another. The Griffins don't give that vibe off at all.

Yeah family guy is just the cartoon version of Scrubs, with stupid ass "lolololol so RANDOM!" non sequitur cutaway gags that have nothing to do with anything, least of all the plot of the episode. It's like they just have a list of random jokes, and throw them in each episode at random, willy nilly, without giving a care or a thought to whether they fit the plot of the episode or reveal some kind of context about the characters that tells you why they act in a certain way in the story of the episode. Cutaway gags can be good, the simpsons does them even, but they're always actually relevant to the story and context of the episode, which is why they work so well in the simpsons but work so poorly in family guy and scrubs.

...and then I got to the end of the video, full of Homer's many deaths which I didn't know about since I stopped watching the simpsons after season 15 or so....no feels for the later episodes.

Homer and Lisa have such a great relationship. He's not always the perfect person but he loves her and maggie so much. Bart on the other hand lol
People like to shit on homer but I think hes a amazing father. He constantly puts his family's needs ahead of his own, and yet people love to say "but that's what dads are supposed to do" so if you do put your family first it's like "oh whatever, you shouldn't be praised for what you're supposed to do" and if you don't you're a deadbeat.
It's weird to think what Homer's life would've been like if Abe didn't treat him like something he stepped on. This timeline video did a great job of tracking!

Homer’s relationship with Bart’s kid can be attributed to the fact that he’s a grandfather and not the father. Now he can do fun stuff with those kids without dealing with the more difficult and stressful aspects that comes with dealing with children. To further prove my point, in Days to the Future Past, Bart showed Homer his messy school-apartment. Homer asked Bart to put him on 3D mode just to 3D strangle him for daring to emulate his sloppy ways. Holidays to the Future Past was originally supposed to be the series that’s why Homer was acting like the model grandfather/protagonist. The writers wanted to end his saga on a good note. As soon as they learned that they can continue milking out the legendary The Simpsons show, they reverted his development and made back to the jerkass who took advantage of Professor Frink’s multiple chances at life. Modern Simpson’s writers can’t help themselves at this point.

Brain in a jar. Futurama showed that they have the technology, and, let's face it, a thousand years is a long time to expect Homer to not do something cataclysmic to his body. He doesn't have a great track record of being smart. Loveable, yes. Intelligent, not so much.
