After watching eddies hold up play at the weekend, I would settle form Michal Antonio of West Ham! Seriously, if Arsenal don’t get a striker that can hold up the ball, we can never challenge for serious trophies
Why does everyone say he’s egotistical? Because it didn’t work with Auba or Guendouzi? How are their careers panning out right now? Or rather, have we regressed because we let go of better egotistical players, leaving us now with dross who are just teachers pets? Let’s use some logic cause that argument holds no weight. Imo he just wanted players who are serious about the team, and not solely in it for themselves. We’re benefiting from this now
Wouldn’t Oshimen be good for us since he plays in Italy, which is probably the most physically demanding league in the world? He’s used to low blocks and oppressive defenders so he’d probably be the better signing.
I 💯% think Ivan Toney would elevate us to the next level, especially if we can somehow manage to keep all of our best players fit and rid ourselves of this constant cycle of injuries. The reality is there aren't many truly viable alternatives out there. My 1st choice alternative (to Toney) would be Benjamin Šeško. 20 years old, 6ft4, and already a prolific goal scorer with a 1 in 2 goal average. The problem with signing him is the fact that he's only just signed for Leipzig, meaning a January transfer is all but impossible, but they are very much a "selling club" so a deal could be struck for summer 2024, or January 2025. Obviously no help for us this season. Other options? Vlahovic: He doesn't want to leave Italy, doesn't want to leave Juventus, and is now playing well under Allegri. He's going nowhere. Half of our fanbase are also still in their feelings due to him (and/or his agent) blanking us 18 months ago. Other options? Osimhen: FAR too expensive, £130m-£150m, with Napoli being NOTORIOUSLY difficult to deal with. The positives when being in the market for a ST right now is the fact that ALL of the top teams outside of Italy, barring us, Chelsea and Madrid, have a top striker in their ranks: Barca (Lewa), Bayern (Kane), City (Haaland), Utd (Hojland), PSG (Mbappe, Muani & Ramos), Liverpool (Gakpo & Nunes), so the only real competition for Osimhen would likely come from Chelsea or Saudi Arabia. And their lies the problem. Once Chelsea or Saudi Arabia come to the table, even if Napoli were willing to accept much less than their current asking price, we all know that Arsenal aren't beating Chelsea or one of those top Saudi Pro teams to Osimhen's signature. A lot of people rave about that Victor Boniface at Bayer Leverkusen, but imo I believe him to be a tad overrated. He's VERY raw and has a game almost identical to a young prime Lukaku. Whether that's a great thing, a bad thing, or somewhere in between? is a matter of opinion. So to conclude my VERY LONG comment (apologies for the essay) Toney should be the certified first choice, one we can get in January, who won't break the bank, a player who's Prem proven, in his prime years, and who openly and actively has twerked for us (hopefully, unlike when Mudryk did the same thing, he doesn't end up at Chelsea too? 😑), and a player whom we desperately need. My second choice, but it won't be for at least another year, is Benjamin Šeško.
Madrid desperately need s ST too, but its obviously to everyone that they are willing to wait until next summer for their number one target: Mbappe. Should that deal fail to materialise, and if Osimhen is still at Napoli, I could only then see them moving for him. If we don't act fast in January and make an offer to Brentford, Chelsea or Spurs will very likely swoop in for him. With more emphasis, of course, being on Chelsea making a move for Toney.
@@AnthonyScott5425 I think we're most likely gonna get Toney. He and his agent made it clear for the past few months that the number one team he's trying to play for is Arsenal. And if we have enough in the transfer budget, he'll be as good as ours!
Also for anyone saying he only got 14 goals from open play, how many chances do Brentford create compared to us? With better players around him and more service, I think he can thrive and become even better. Get Toney to the carpet 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah people go on like a penalty is a guaranteed goal but penalty taking is a skill in itself tbh. Toney has scored 93% of his pens when the success rate across all of football is only 75%
100% bro, you still have to score it. And I think it would be great to have a player so accurate from pens, just makes me hope we get him more@@bena7519

Curtis you answered your own question. He is an alternative to what we have, rather than an upgrade. We need to spend the $150 mil plus to get Osimhen. Otherwise we are second place at best period.

It’s wild how anti-Toney people are. I keep saying this: Toney’s back story, streetwise style and self-belief remind me of Ian Wright. The snobbery towards such an obvious goal scoring talent is frustrating.
Toney yes, he’s quality as for, a player from the Italian league is a championship player, scoring four goals in the champions league means nothing, remember, there’s champions league teams who come from minor leagues to make up the numbers, even Lukaku looks good in Italy, or did.
With eddie we are never winning anything major. We need to sign a quality striker in order to win something serious. Eddie is respectfully not arsenal level. I NEED VICTOR LETS BE AMBITIOUS
Welp… when you put it that way bring Toney 💪🏿 Osimhen who?
Toney makes too much sense so we won't sign him.
Watkins
Arteta doesn't have the managerial qualities to manage a mature striker his ego can't handle it..arteta is to arsenal what bredan rogers was to Liverpool
I'd defer to Brentford supporters who watch him day in and day out. However, for those that know his game, is he better than Jesus? We know he's DEFINITELY BETTER than Eddie. The reason I lean towards Toney is that we know he can do it in the Prem. However, if the price is exorbitant, I'd pass and move on to find another.
Ivan toney over dusan...... come on gooners Toney should have been bought with the havertz money , get it done !!!!!!
Sign me....😅
CURTIS, We ain't getting Toney because CHELSKI are going to be in for him. So it going to be at least £80 mil . The only way to get Toney is if we sent SHERMAN in the other direction plus £50 mil
I'm so tired of Vlahovic ... leave that where it lies.
I just can’t believe people are turning their nose to toney.
I don't even take notice of those lot, they are probably the same people that had no problem with Eddie as our backup 🤡
