Edmonton is the capital city of Alberta. In 2008, there were about 1,102,000 people in the Edmonton area. Edmonton is just south of the middle of Alberta in the prairie part of the province. There are many farms close to Edmonton.
The city started as a trading post on the North Saskatchewan River. Edmonton turned into a city mostly over the last 100 years.
Edmonton has of one of the world's largest shopping malls. This mall is called the West Edmonton Mall. This mall has over 800 stores, a hotel, an indoor water park, an indoor theme park, an ice skating rink, movie theatres, places to eat and drink, and other things to see. Many, many people visit the West Edmonton Mall.
Edmonton also has more sun than all other cities in Canada. But other cities are warmer than Edmonton. Winter temperatures often are below -20 degrees Celsius. It is common for it be even colder (below -30 degrees Celsius) for a few days in January or February. However, the summer can be warmer than 25 or 30 degrees. The sun does not set until after 11 pm in June.
The city is also well known for its festivals. There are many popular events in both summer and winter, such as Heritage Days, the Folk Festival, and the Fringe.
Edmonton has many interesting places to visit. Places such as The Francis Winspear Centre for Music, the Valley Zoo, Fort Edmonton Park, the Muttart Conservatory, and Telus World of Science.
Edmonton is known as the city of champions, and is home to the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, and the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. The Edmonton Oilers have 5 Stanley Cup Championships, and the Eskimos have 23 Western Division Championships, and 13 Grey Cup Championships.
The Edmonton tornado, the second deadliest tornado in Canada, struck the east side of the city in 1987.

I’m a fan , God Bless
Nice to see Edmonton's new Ice District, the city is growing fast!
The place is georgeous. Never realized Edmonton is so beautiful, well all of canada is beautiful anyways.
The river value in summer is delightful.
Its cold
Edmontons downtown and river valley is a real hidden gem for this city. It's a pity more tourists don't visit our city or see it's true character. Sadly, the pandemic and oil depression has really gutted down town but it still manages to hold most of it's beauty. The Stantech Tower and new Oilers Arena with winter garden is a real gem added to the city. We just need more iconic architecture in the city and not just boxes and pyramids. Thank god for the wonderfully landscaped legislature grounds. I love spending my lunch hours there.
I love Edmonton! The river valley is so beautiful in autumn. People are friendly helpful too. Everytime we've visited had an amazing time.
Same💚
I’m glad you enjoyed my home city

Estive lá e adorei. Pena que foram poucos dias
Edmonton brought me in with open arms. Its a place where miracles can happen.
Can you drive around or show university of alberta . I think many would be curious as lot of students come down so they might be interested in seeing one
Damn. I’m from United States and have travelled to many Canadian cities. I love all of their layouts.
What are your views on driving downtown Toronto?
The about a half a min into the video to 1 min 17 seconds he drives past the local homeless shelter. The camera is too dark to see the big group of crack heads that hang along the right side of that road lol
Edmonton is clean and peaceful city. My cousin sunny lives there
The city looks so clean and nice, high buildings and big streets. I feel that i'm there, it makes me feel very happy to chill on my bad and watch this video. Thank you very much!
Where are you from? Edmonton is not bad, however, when I think of "high buildings" my mind goes to Toronto!
Beautiful, beautiful place...
Great clip of E Town!!! Moved from small BC Town...Been here 16 yrs and love it every day! Zero regrets!
Thanks for that! Iived there in the 1980s and 1990s . . . . nice to see the views again - makes me feel like I am back there again!
Edmonton looks like a great city. I appreciate your videos as I learn a lot of about cities that I have not visited.
It is 💚
I'm in love with this city! I hope some day to live in this beautiful place! ♥️
Excellent video, as the rest of your videos, I am enjoying them very much. Thank you!
As a Mexican-American from Orlando, Florida, and who has only ever visited Vancouver and Victoria, I'm really interested in all the different Canadian regions and cities. Yes, that far north it's obviously going to get really cold for many months...but the summers and springs must be beautiful. Orlando, Florida is just hot and humid pretty much all year long.
As someone living in Edmonton, it's 50/50 for a dry season, 2019 was pretty dry, especially closer to the country side. This February it reached -50°c at night. The coldest it's been in a while. After living in Edmonton my whole life I tend to have some nitpicks with it. But it's home, and I have lots of good and bad memories here. 😉
Thank you so much for your video! It brings us a memory when we re in Edmonton! It changed a lot! But still Beautiful!
J-sus...... I left Edmonton Dec 1995 and came to the US. I see a city I do not recognize with certain landmarks in between that are familiar... that city has CHANGED.
It’s still dirty
@@zerofuks416 depends where you must live not dirty in Riverbend Windermere Walker Lakes McGrath Hamptons. If you live down by skid row it's dirty.
The biggest changes downtown all happened recently with the ice district and the arena really starting it all. Now theres tons of new developments awaiting approval
Thank you for uploading this video. I applied to NAIT which is located in Edmonton but I can't go there because of COVID-19. I'm really glad to see the city through your video. Nobody can tell me when I can study at NAIT but I hope I can go there early next year. Thank you again for your great work!
Your best bet is once covid dies down a bunch and everything opens up again. Lots of students are doing online courses etc right now
I studied in Concordia High School and U of A in early 80s during the heyday of Oilers, doing a lot of biking along the banks of the river, went to see numerous rock concerts in Northland Coliseum, saw a lot of art house movies (incl. The Songs Remain the Same!) in a tiny old theatre on Whyte Ave. Edmonton and Canada taught me to open your heart and mind, be helpful, friendly and courteous, and to be a good citizen, not bad for a guy from Hong Kong, thank you Edmonton with love.
I watch this video over and over. Reminding me the beautiful city and the politeness of ETS bus drivers. Hoping I can go back there again someday and stay for a week or two. But not in the winter :) Thanks for sharing, dude.
But not in the winter 😫
this is surprisingly such a peaceful video

Beautiful place nice rice, beautiful atmosphere thank you for great sharing have a good day take care 💅💅
Muchas gracias desde Colombia.
Great video. Best video I've seen of Edmonton downtown and surrounding area. Born and raised here. Love Edmonton. Beautiful city. It's a big city that's not too big. 1.5 million people. You are a 3 and 1/2 hour drive from Jasper, Alberta - a gorgeous town in the Rocky Mountains. Our green traffic light structures in downtown Edmonton on Jasper Ave are the same light structures that Jasper has in their downtown, or, originally had. Edmonton has started building taller towers downtown since closing the downtown airport which is just north of everything you saw in this video. All towers downtown had to be a certain height because of air flight coming in and out of downtown for years. That is why you see a lot buildings quite short on the West side of downtown. And in the core of downtown, the limit was about 33 stories while that airport was open. Since then, more towers have been built higher than that including the Stantec Tower which is 70 stories.
Beautiful Alberta.. enjoyed watching
stantec tower sticks out so well wow!
Thank you
It's a beautiful drive! Rented a car for 2 days, while my daughter visited the West Edmonton Mall during our incredible trip across Canada on VIA RAIL, 2004...the University campus is beautifully landscaped.
beautiful city.
Thanks, left Edmonton in 2017. Used to call it Deadmonton and has changed a lot to a much better place.
I go Bike riding on my Bike when the weather is warm during the Summer & Spring Months. Especially when it's sunny.
Beautiful downtown!
Sensational, let do video driving around Edmonton International Airport

I have taken the ETS Buses here in Edmonton Alberta since I was 12 years old 15 years ago in the year May, June, July & August 2005.

Nice video! 🏆📌
The city is beautiful
Very nice
very very nice city Edmonton
Wow to think I've driven down all of these streets, and walked around the Rogers place Arena one late night with friends. The city is beautiful at night, sad that I live on the edge of the city....
Same I live in downtown and now it's just full of homeless drug addicts at night and at day it's dead. nothing new but I guess thats most Downtown cities
Merci
ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ 👌👌👌
It would be cool if you had a small map at the bottom of the screen that acts as a real time GPS so we can see where these places are relative to the city.
I agree. I lived in Edmonton for 10+ years and while I recognize most of the places shown, there are some that I do not.
I am planning to come to Edmonton as a International Student in Dec 2020. Hope to make new friends and meet friendly people!
Good luck friend
Did u use go pro 7 or dji osmo action? looks amazing...

Le CANADA est mon pays de rêve. J'aime ce pays plus que tout autre au monde. Edmonton est un paradis pour moi.💝
Побольше плиз по Эдмонтону можно весь город показать
Edmonton is nice from late April/early May until January
Born, raised and left in my late 20's. To this day every time I go home I am saddened by how empty the downtown is on the weekends. Such a waste
Can you do the same video with some instruction about traffic lights, left turns right turns signboards and also try to include one ways
Thank you for your great video. Edmonton looks so beautiful. Would you mind if you share some information about Edmonton please??
I've been thinking to move to Edmonton/Alberta from Ontario. Life is really hard nowadays in Ontario. House prices and went up and it's hard to afford it here. I am just wondering if it's possible to get a job easily in Edmonton.
Also, how expensive is a one bedroom Condo there or rent.
Thank you.
wow...this is so so much better than calgary. EDM is alberta's first city, no doubt about it.
Residential districts have an almost european flair. Many pretty older streets that have maintained their charm. Nice valley next to downtown. City built to a human scale...I like.
You should show your exact route on a map linked in the description. It's hard to see the numbers on street signs unless at higher resolution or if you see a familiar landmark.
Oglądałam, dziękuję. Pozdrawiam z Polski. zwł. Rodaków. Porównując --widoki podobne jak u nas. Samochody na ulicach u nas chyba więcej. Zimą jeszcze bym chciała zobaczyc,może coś znajdę.Jaki teraz ten świat mały.
See you next year hopefully 🙏
I wish you did more than do the same loop.
Nice place. I am in Vancouver and I truly appreciate this video since I have never been to Edmonton. But why is the road asphalt "street texture" all damaged?
It’s because of the freeze and thaw cycles. Edmonton is much colder than Vancouver and it’s hard on the roads.
@@canadiandeplorable2087 Thank you! I just was not sure....
@@rainn5696 not true...whats going on is a total rebuild of underground water and sewer systems....all thru out the city....it must be done asap....
Your description is inaccurate. Edmonton is in the parkland, not prairie, biome. Parkland is an ecotone (transition zone) between prairie and boreal forest.
There's a youtuber named Quang Tran, from this city and he does a lot of videos. Y'all should check out his channel.
Seems like a peaceful city. There's hardly any traffic on the streets.
How are the rents there?
